Problem with this is that you can reduce any criticism to "console warring" and delete/ban as you like. Not necessarily malisciously, but the human error is always behind the corner. Where do we draw the line?
I'm against any form of censorship on (polite) sharing of ideas. I think that so far the mod team is doing a great job since the split, in keeping the forum clean without being oppressive, and I would hate to see the censors coming back here.
Best way to deal with someone who you think is a console warrior is to ignore them. Calling for censorship... eeeeeeh, doesn't sound right to me and sounds like what reeeeeeetards do.

EDIT2: Doesn't also mean I agree on the new policy.

Thing is, digging up a old thread to just reply with a snarky smiley is the definition of console warring. If say you put a well thought out and reasonably researched comment that either qualititively or quantitatively show how the latest news about that retailer and what it means to XBOX strategy, in a current thread, nobody would have complained.
 
But OP, console war bullshit is the worst. It's just a bunch of people yelling into the void and trying bait each other with their hot takes. The sooner this place is purged of that crap the better.

This is like saying "it's not enough to have proof of who commited the murder" but you also need to write an essay explaining the proof. Ok.
 
Console war is like 50% of this site's traffic. It's pretty hard to disengage from it even if it's idiotic.

just compare any DF thread to everything. DF threads are always huge with 90% console war.
 
To put it like this, when you're perfectly calm and just having a bit of silly fun, how seriously can you possibly take a mod saying "breh, stop being so triggered"?

The mods general behavior on here has made me think of them all like slightly immature teenagers, and that's not really something I respect much.

End of the day if you dont like how something is dont post about something that doesn't effect you IE: Xbox or just leave the forum, dont try to be stupid saying the mods are hiding, they are doing a good job and trying to keep people being civil
 
The mods are doing fantastic work, which IMHO should've been done like a year ago already. The last 3 pages of bans list is nothing but people who jump on each other in all the DF/NXG comparison threads, and always bring up XB/PS i non-related threads, who already had multiple warnings.
 
Just pm the mods instead of bitching, are you sure you haven't once spewed out bullshit, trolling and derailing the whole thread? The entitlement for apparently just one "mistake" being done.

Or maybe you're not worth the attention at the end because of your usual antics, hence the "mistake".

I reviewed your warnings you were given. You offered a lot of drive by posts which stir up console wars.

Thats the main thing that contributes to the bullshit on here. People offering some drive by comment which is obviously to stir up wars and get a rise out of hte "other side". Then when we try to moderate these actions these same people hide behind the same excuses, its either "It was just a joke" "It was just an opinion" "the other side is worse etc etc".

We wont tolerate these underhanded snide comments which are there just to stir the pot. If the other side is worse make reports or take it up with a mod with a well reasoned PM with some examples. Besides that we arent going to feel bad for you.

As much as the OP's tone is not exactly the best way to put this across. It does feel recently that it's leaning over to the "This is a serious place for serious people that only serious discussion can take place" despite of course a majority of the forum not being that at all.

How long will it be before I can't make fun of a game by pointing at another game in the same genre and saying "man Assassin's Creed has no content worth playing" as it's game warring?

Il be honest though I got a good chuckle out of the necro'd thread about cyberpunk hype before release, like a little time capsule of hope, man how wrong we where.

He is an executive at a multi national company. What the hell do you expect him to say? "We are fucked in Japan, not sure why we are bothering?".

Try to remember that he will always paint a rosy picture as that's his job…same for all other execs. Just take everything they say with a pinch of salt (Sony, Nintendo, Apple, all of them) and don't let it stress you out, because it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things 🤷‍♂️
 
I would love to take Evilore and the modteam to Vegas for the weekend. They leave us be to shit post in peace as long as it's we'll done I find, and that's all you can really ask for while they receive nothing in return.

For a while I was on the "we're taking the ban thing too far" but considering the number of straight up jackasses that no longer post, I think overall it's been a win. Sort of a restriction on free speech for the greater good.
