Hellblade II: Senua's Saga - New Trailer | The Game Awards 2021

Looks good but not as good as the CG they showed before.

What they showed before was realtime. Epic confirmed that.

From some of these responses about gameplay it seems like many have not played the original game.
Not just that but they're making it seem like the whole game will be like this. The first game was pretty much a walking simulator with some puzzles and combat. The atmosphere and story was what made it special.

The amount of desperate gaslighting, downplaying and strawman-ing in this thread is quite the sight. I love it. Ninja Theory is obviously on the right track to something special here.

Edit: And here comes the usual suspects and their lols. I'm amused.

Cool looking cinematic with quick time events but my god the chromatic aberration needs toned down so much

I disagree. This looked maybe on par with the better looking last gen games and with close to zero gameplay interaction at that.

Maybe if they show more (actual impressive) stuff I will change my mind but as is I was not impressed.
I can't take you seriously if you think this game looks like gen. What about this game looks last gen?

Watched it again on the big screen. The transition between gameplay and cinematic is seem less with movie quality visuals.

Ninja Theory is on another level.

The original games gameplay is boring. And same type of enemies. The story and sound design was fucking amazing. Hb 2 looks fucking awesome. I love cinematic games and ninja theory can deliver these kind of games.

There's not a single person in here that believes what you're writing, including yourself and your supporters. So why don't you just drop the facade.

I'm absolutely loving the haters reactions. They gotta do what they can for their own sanity, ya know? ☺

We knew the graphics would be good. Just waiting to see if they've improved gameplay from the first game. This definitely didn't tell me how the gameplay actually works. But they have my attention.

Looks impressive but I hope they improve the gameplay from Hellblade, which is hard to tell from such a scripted trailer. Whatever happens I'll be on GP when it comes out so I'll give it a go.

Also lmao at the post histories of some of our new members here, absolutely zero bias to be seen :messenger_grinning_sweat:

So funny how when the reveal trailer was shown, all I heard was "that's not gameplay."
Now that gameplay is shown and looks unbelievable, all I'm seeing is "downgraded from the reveal trailer" as if that was gameplay.

Understandable though..as its the only thing you can compare it to at the moment. ☺

Well done, Ninja Theory.

It looks fantastic but I have to agree with the 'downgrade' sentiment. The original trailer looked far better than was ever realistic to expect of the new gen. But that's been true of every single 'next-gen' game I've played so far.

The shitty YouTube compression doesn't do it any favors though. It should look a lot better in person.

Of course, even those of us that enjoyed Hellblade as a whole has legitimate criticism. The combat and puzzles had a LOT of room for improvement. Sometimes playing the game I was even frustrated as fuck. The devs knows as well, and I'd be very surprised if they didn't address these issues.

You can tell from the comments here who played the original game and who has not. Those asking "where's the gameplay" never had any intention of playing this gem and probably think it's a hack and slash like God of War.
