What are your top two Comfort Shows?

Comfort Shows. Most people have 'em. Sometimes you play them in the background while you are chilling doing something else, sometimes you are sick or hungover on the couch and need that low effort comfort vibe. Its a show youve already seen all the episodes for, so no surprises. Popular choices are Parks & Rec, The Office, Friends etc.

I was sick as a dog this weekend, thought it might be the Covid but turns out negative, just some old fashioned flu bug or something. Anyway watched a lot of my favorite Comfort Shows, Seinfeld and Superstore.

Don't really watch TV in background throughout the day but when eating, doing dishes, exercise etc I'll watch dumb comedies like What We Do in the Shadows, Wellington Paranormal, Always Sunny, etc. Just noticed Resident Alien is coming back so that too. If we're really scraping the bottom of the barrel on new episodes some crap like Young Sheldon

Last year I watched all of Star Trek TNG. I was thinking of maybe doing DS9 but I had watched more episodes of that when it originally came out which might ruin it as my memory jogs. Maybe Voyager because I didn't watch much of that (disliked what I saw back when it was out originally)

edit: for whatever reason I never liked rewatching shows. I suppose that's one thing to look forward to when older as memory becomes more unreliable (lol)

I had watched superstore once but recently re discovered my love for it and it's been added to my yearly rotation. Fits great with all my others

My top two are El Chiringuito and Would I Lie To You?

I have a couple of playlists with my favourite moments from both shows and they're perfect for moments where I need to have something playing in the background while I'm doing other stuff, like working out, cooking, or even doing my dailies in Genshin. Shows like IASIP, Black Books, TPB, or Community work as well (they're actually some of my favourite comedies), but they usually distract me from what I'm actually doing so I prefer to watch them when I can actually pay attention to them.

I got burnt out of them, but for a while I watched probably 100+ episodes of Forensic Files. Great show (though repetitive).

I can watch any hockey game too no matter which teams are playing.

Kaamelott (French humoristic take on Arthurian legends). It's mostly funny dialogs, so you don't even need to watch the screen to enjoy it
Monk (also because it's a very talkative show)
oops, top two.
Brooklyn 99
Sometimes I put "How I met yout Mother" on shuffle. I don't actually like it that much any more, but with the large number of episodes and the monologue it's ok as background noise.

Always Sunny and The Office (USA).

As a teenager it was Scrubs and Friends and in university it was Community.

Creature Comforts and Scrubs.

I love Wallace and Gromit, but they aren't completely 'comfy'. Same with Monty Python, Faulty Towers, and Blackadder.

Edit: Fuck that. Takeshi's Castle with Craig Charles narrating.

70s / 80s WHO.

And

TNG

If I have one thing to thank Star Trek Discovery for, it's making me realise what a fucking masterpiece TNG is.

I like Last Man standing, pretty funny and the characters are fun. I can have Seinfeld on in the background, or Gold Rush.

I'll go old school.

Little House on the Prairie. I have this intense longing for non-technological, simpler times, despite the irony of posting this on a platform made possible by tech.

also

Andy Griffith. always funny

I have a shitload, but my top two might be The IT Crowd and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's Always Comfy in IT.

Home Improvement. Just makes me feel good watching it. I relate to it so much.

Deep Space Nine. Just makes me feel nostalgic
Home Improvement is in my rewatch list as well. I love Tim Allen in this. Add some Roseanne too
