Breaking: Microsoft to acquire Activision-Blizzard in near 70$ billion deal

LOL. Holy shit.

This is a huge deal but funny enough, I literally can't remember the last time I bought an Activision game, their stuff just doesn't interest me.

It's pretty wild though, I figured Activision/Blizzard would be too costly for a company to just buy. The coming years are going to be really interesting.
Microsoft is one of the richest companies on the planet and they did just go buy Acti/Blizz. probably will hardly make a dent too.

Sony may eventually regret giving up on Japan...

Sadge, I remember when Sony was the attractive option to me because it was '' the Japanese '' platform.

I don't think they've '' given up on Japan '' or anything tho they've made big investements in Anime in recent time.
But they've definitely been kinda giving Japanese game devs the finger and pandering hard to NA at the expense of them, I mean they don't even fucking communicate with Japanese devs in Japanese they force them to communicate in English...

It's not like they even lose money really. When you buy a $50 bill company for $70, you lose 20. You still own a $50 bill asset you could sell. It will just get more valuable so they barely lose anything in the end.

. Godammm 70 fucking billion.. competition is over guys.. they got candy crush developers as well. They made a smart move. This is pizza money for a trillion dollar company. They own sekirooo wtfffff.

Vanguard was the #2 selling game on the PS Store in 2021. MS now owns that franchise.
People underestimate how much COD will sell consoles IF it ever went exclusive, I know alot of pros have requested to move back to Xbox for the pro scene for a long time

So what the hell does this mean? I'm not sure what is going to happen, and this does raise some ... trust issues, what is Microsoft thinking about while buying that company? Will there be less monetization?

Sony the time is now!!!! No more fucking around, consolidation is the name of the game. Its time to buy square enix, and sega. I cant believe this, this basically leaves square, ea, and ubisoft as the only other three big third party publishers in the game.

I mean, MS is brute forcing their way to victory. This is almost unfair. With Blizzard, Activision and Bethesda, they bought their way into relevance. Its like "People complain that we only have Halo, Forza and Gears? Well, we now BOUGHT your favorite franchises!"

Is he still working at Activision?

Thats actually quite the impressive move by MS. Hope they can fix Activision/Blizzard in the long term though.
I mean even blending out the internal issues, Blizzard products have been declining for at least a decade.

70 billion dollars. Wow this is insane.

I dont play any Activision games but it has a huge market. This is basically turning into a monopoly. Are we going to see entire gaming industry gobbled up by Microsoft?

What was I saying just the other day about consolidation?

The gaming landscape is going to look very different in 5 years.
This is AWESOME news for me! Maybe bad news for you, but hey you can always buy a series s and continue to enjoy Activision games

Also, good stuff keeping Kotick on board.

He should dress up like a pharaoh and get some grunts to carry him into the office on his first day.

Biggest acquisition in entertainment ever probably. 2nd place is Disney buying Marvel and Star Wars.
Disney bought Marvel & Star Wars for peanuts. This is comparable to Disney buying 20th Century Fox for 71 billion dollars.

In for the meltdowns. Shit gonna be gold over the next few days.

get ready for endless posts of no way xbox wont put COD out on PlayStation right?? they be mad to miss out on those salez??????

It's over anyway

I think he's out it's a matter of time, it's politics they're giving him a '' graceful exit '' so to speak.
It looks way worse ( for him ) if they just kick him out immediately there's probably some kind of a deal where he'll stay for a couple of months then leave '' on his own ''.

It's probably pretty impractical too for him to just leave right away this stuff takes time.
