Project Nuke SonyWhich codename did this operation's have inside Microsoft??? "Acquivision"????
I'll have to look that up. I don't know what that is. lol.Same as EA pass?
I have been calling for the divestiture of SPE and using that capital to double down on gaming and NS for years. I mentioned before that once MS opens that warchest Sony would be in a delicate position. MS has opened up the warchest (and I don't think this is their last big acquisition). SPE is just something they use to be part of Hollywood, but honestly the money is better used somewhere else. Their best IP in that division is owned by someone else where they get zero from merch. They'd have potential buyers lined up. Funny thing though is until SPE sale clears and TTWO finishes the acquisition of Zynga it would be almost time for MS to be cleared to buy another one again. Sony done goofed, but they need to get a move on if they don't want to be left in the dust.Loeb was calling for that since at least 2013...SONY dug in their heels...might be the time if it helps them. I could see Amazon picking it up.

Oh, enough with this take. MS has been playing the timed-exclusive game since forever as well.If they could Sony would go back in time and never sign those scummy times exclusive deals that benefit absolutely nobody.
Waste of money and now they made MS angry![]()
EA Pass/ GAMEPASS etc are platforms which offer games for a monthly fee..within the platform they offer a variety of games. This platform can be bought direct or through a go between like xbox or playstation (I expect gamepass on PSN by PS5 eol). When sold through the go between, the go between gets a 'fee' for the customer.I'll have to look that up. I don't know what that is. lol.
These are the threads that we live for.I am thoroughly enjoying this thread, anyone else?![]()
No let him keep going. Maybe he'll get banned again.Oh, enough with this take. MS has been playing the timed-exclusive game since forever as well.
You mean the scummy Medium deal? Or maybe Stalker 2? Rise of the Tomb Raider maybe? If they could Sony would go back in time and never sign those scummy times exclusive deals that benefit absolutely nobody.

Good thinking! No let him keep going. Maybe he'll get banned again.
I mean in theory yes they could but MS would never let themselves get out muscled by Sony, impossible. They’ll pay a premium to out bid them and that’s all. They are not joking around anymore. They should.
IMO MS' next target once this closes in 12-18 months will be EA or Take Two.
Take Two won't consider selling until the Zynga acquisition completes. It'll cost 30B+. Likely 40B+. Sony can buy Take 2 in one of three ways.
1) Loans and finance
2) Stock and cash transaction
3) Divest SPE and use the capital to purchase Take Two.
SPE will go for 30B+ freeing up the capital for a much needed acquisition. SPE also has one of the lowest ROIC for Sony (~7%).
Appreciate it. I was reading the EA Play wiki. Honestly had never heard of it until you mentioned it, nor have I ever seen it being advertised on the PSN.EA Pass/ GAMEPASS etc are platforms...within the platform they offer a variety of games. I'm getting burned out..time to go back to my Hasan/Silent Hills/Abandoned thread where i know what to expect.I am thoroughly enjoying this thread, anyone else?![]()
I'm actually really surprised at the cordial nature of it.
Nah I meant the other 100 timed exclusives deal Sony made. You mean the scummy Medium deal or Rise of Tomb Raider? Or maybe Stalker 2?
Nah I wasn’t actually… I don’t believe any of those franchises are on cod or Minecraft’s level. I can see warzone remaining multi and everything else like the yearly releases being exclusive. Why handicap your Fortnite compositor, that’s just dumb as hell.I'll bet money on it too. They won't. You were probably saying the same thing about Elder Scrolls and Starfield and we know how that turned out. MS did not pay all this money to continue to put these games on their competitor's system.
There is a massive audience that only plays COD and they will buy an Xbox to continue to play it.
You mean the scummy Medium deal? Or maybe Stalker 2? Rise of the Tomb Raider maybe?
Deal was set in motion awhile ago. This is $70 billion we're talking about.Do you guys think Microsoft has had their sights on Activision for a while now or that the sexual misconduct allegations which toppled Activision's stock value just made it too good a deal to pass up?

Same as how it works on Xbox I’d imagine. If Game Pass is on PS I believe MS would also make the games available to purchase on the PS Store. So what does that even mean though? And I'm not being snarky, I'm just generally clueless on gamepass.
If gamepass were to come to Sony would it be like streaming xbox games from the cloud? Or do people think that XBOX games would be locked behind a gamepass paywall in the PSN store? And would it be MS hosting all the storage space and MS reaping 100% of the profit or would Sony get a cut?
I just have a hard time envisioning gamepass being on Sony consoles and how people think it would function.
When you have to go back nearly a decade I think the argument is dead. Microsoft might by a few low level indy games but your comparisons to Sony buying major AAA games from Square and Zenimax is lol.You mean the scummy Medium deal? Or maybe Stalker 2? Rise of the Tomb Raider maybe?
Limbo, Inside, 12 minutes, Braid, Ori, Pathologic 2, Superhot, Dead Rising? Just out the top of my head…Nah I meant the other 100 timed exclusives deal Sony made.
Wouldn't be surprised if some of the larger institutional owners bent MS's ear.Do you guys think Microsoft has had their sights on Activision for a while now or that the sexual misconduct allegations which toppled Activision's stock value just made it too good a deal to pass up?

for years Playstation got exclusive weapons and PVP maps for Destiny. that pissed me offThe COD deal was worse as it locked a game mode to one console. People on PC or Xbox didn't have access to it.
Who knows. Perhaps Activision shareholders lost faith in leadership (Bobby Kotick) when their stocks cratered and when they realized that COD Vanguard was a colossal thud. Microsoft is always looking for another blockbuster acquisition anyway, but I doubt Activision was their first option before the allegations happened.Deal was set in motion awhile ago. Appreciate it. I'm really showing how dumb I am with modern things. I swear, I used to be up to speed on these things but something happened a few years back and now I'm just like 10 years behind everyone, ha.Same as how it works on Xbox I’d imagine. If Game Pass is on PS I believe MS would also make the games available to purchase on the PS Store.
PAGING JIM RYAN PAGIN JIM RYAN THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
Yup. I mean…. It’s definitely something to do about video games. But it’s apart of a much broader strategy than just “video games.”Taking people a while to realise that this big news about video games… isn’t really about video games.
Maybe next WednesdayWait....Does this mean Bungie is back under Microsoft?
If they could Sony would go back in time and never sign those scummy times exclusive deals that benefit absolutely nobody.

They will all be gone in 1.5 years there just glorified HR people at best.I mean really, who greenlights putting your fucking pronouns on your managers chart?

It is not good for anyone to get COD or GTA but let's be honest. We had a lot of styling and profiling around here when the Ryan money hat tour was leaked. Many warned of karma well phil is serving it up.It certainly helped, but from the size and frequency of the acquisitions it seems that Microsoft has something in mind... like global domination.
As a MS shareholder, if it gives them more penetration into the EU and Asia markets via the dominant console player...they better fucking take the money.lol Gamepass is never coming to PS for one reason, they dont need it, PC/XBOX/TV/MOBILE all bigger than the pS ecosystem.
You realize there's a difference between one game being exclusive and buying a publisher and making 30 games exclusive right?
Think about how EA play works. You can buy EA games individually or just subscribe and download. I think Microsoft's first iteration of Game Pass on PS5 could look very similar to that. No cloud, just first party Xbox games available for a subscription or full price. So what does that even mean though? And I'm not being snarky, I'm just generally clueless on gamepass.

Nah - MS is too big they can comfortably scale alone. BTW Mobile is much bigger than consoles alone. As a MS shareholder, if it gives them more penetration into the EU and Asia markets via the dominant console player...they better fucking take the money.
