I mean, what should they get credit for? Also, what are they being blamed for?
Makes no sense to give Phil credit for things like games that came out of Sony deals and Kickstarter.
Sony bought Insomniac in 2019 and they put out 2 big games already, MS sure is taking it's time. Hopefully they'll have a lot more to show in the event.

Next ID project is rumored to be a remaiging of an old school FPS franchise which is believed to be Quake. If you remember, Quake was Remastered last year in August to build up hype and interest. It only makes logical sense at this point and is a matter of time before Quake gets the DOOM reboot treatment.

Are you really under the impression I'm trying to pretend I care about Xbox? I wouldn't be against them making more games that I care about and I'm certainly curious about what will happen but I'm hardly pretending to like Xbox or Phil Spencer.
As for playing on PC and PlayStation, that's exactly what I have done since the 360 days and since every MS game is on PC and as a enthusiasm of MS's aggressive gamepass promotions on PC I'm very excited about their showcase on Thursday one way or the other it will be fun for me.
I make fun of Sony, Xbox, Nintendo and pretty much all other third-party publishers yet it's always the Xbox fans that take issue with me, relax and don't take it personally.
edit: I won't be taking part in this thread anymore to avoid getting needlessly reported, do me a favor and put me on ignore if you can't handle honest discussions.

Xbox had a great year last year and I really liked their show last year. I hope this year will be of the same quality. I also hope we have a few surprises and some announcements for big day 1 games for Game Pass first or 3rd party.

Same here. I'm excited and I've been letdown before by hyped Xbox E3's but I think this showcase will be the one that makes me upgrade my Xbox One into a Xbox Series XEven I, a diehard PS fan, could not be more excited. Avowed, Contraband (No idea why, but the parcels of info here and there make it sound intriguing), and Hellblade 2 are my most anticipated for the showcase, with Forza Motorsport 8 and Starfield coming in in second place. More importantly, this will be our first glimpse into what current-gen only first party software for the SX looks like... Graphically, I expect Forza to take the crown. Turn 10 coders are no joke!

I would agree with all the above except I'd substitute InXile's UE5 steampunk game for Forza MS 8 (I don't have any interest in racing games except FH5) and I want to see BOTH Gears 6 and the new IP The Coalition is working on.

Hmmm I forgot about InXile's game, Steampunk + UE5 sounds incredible. Will it be 3rd person like Hellblade 2 and Gears 6? If it is, then I'd put it above Forza 8 too

I can't remember too well now but I think it might have been 1st person or both.
I love InXile's narrative and humor in their games, love a steampunk setting, so glad they are moving to UE instead of Unity and I'm really looking forward to them having a good budget instead of struggling to stay afloat.

The key to really enjoying events like these is to expect games to be shown. That's it. Some will be gameplay, some will be CG, some will simply be announcements. Where most get let down is by thinking they know how to pull off these events better than the actual people that do this shit for a living. Then they come back with shit like, "not like that." If you knew better, you'd be there. Just enjoy whats on display. Some will resonate, some won't.

I think I'm most hoping to see something from Id, Obsidian, and Undead Labs. I love a good first-person shooter and I firmly believe Id is currently the best in the business for quality on such games. It's been a couple years since Doom Eternal dropped. Though they worked on two expansions afterwards, so, while I'm not going to hold my breath to see them there I'm still gonna cross my fingers.
I really want to see Avowed by Obsidian. The teaser for this game absolutely had an Elder Scrolls feel to it but what I'm hoping is that they take that formula but put a different touch on it. Eliminate the jankiness. Improve the flow of combat and make it more exciting. Create a world with a lot more color. Do that and I'm totally onboard.
As for Undead Labs, I feel like State of Decay is a smash hit waiting to happen. Give us a very well done open world, survival horror, multiplayer game. If they honestly learned lessons from what didn't work in the second game and have the talent to figure out how to improve that and put it in an attractive package, I think State of Decay 3 could blow up.

I am just hoping that perhaps a 1/4 of what they show will actually release between now and mid-next year. Getting tired of having games shown or talked about and them being 2-3-4-6 years away. Would be nice to have a show where at least 1/4 of what they show will ship within a year.

InXile stated that being under Microsoft helped them making Wasteland 3 even better.
Doublefine said the same about Psychonauts 2 and gave specifics on how. The boss fights wouldn't be in the game.
Numerous studios under Xbox's leadership have publicly come out saying how great things have been under Microsoft.
So what you're saying is simply not supported by the facts. Games taking time to be made isn't a negative or downside. Microsoft deserves enormous credit for doing what it takes to get content for Xbox. It may not come right away, but it will come.

A lot of talk about Golden Eye and understandable it's a good game. The one game from that era I'd love to see given a full remake tho is Blast Corps.
The Goldeneye remaster has been 100% done for more than a decade though. Costs them nothing to release it and then put the original on NSO.
