This new one is a remaster of that unreleased remaster of the OG Goldeneye

Are you really under the impression I'm trying to pretend I care about Xbox? I wouldn't be against them making more games that I care about and I'm certainly curious about what will happen but I'm hardly pretending to like Xbox or Phil Spencer.

As for playing on PC and PlayStation, that's exactly what I have done since the 360 days and since every MS game is on PC and as a enthusiasm of MS's aggressive gamepass promotions on PC I'm very excited about their showcase on Thursday one way or the other it will be fun for me.

I make fun of Sony, Xbox, Nintendo and pretty much all other third-party publishers yet it's always the Xbox fans that take issue with me, relax and don't take it personally.

edit: I won't be taking part in this thread anymore to avoid getting needlessly reported, do me a favor and put me on ignore if you can't handle honest discussions.
we know you. I don't think it will be long before we will see you again trolling Xbox threads

Bro no disrespect but this is nonsense. A lot of us on this very forum could make better shows with better pacing if we had the technical background

That being said, I think the pacing for this show will be really good
But you don't have technical backgrounds. That's my point. I actually do have the technical background to produce shows like these. They actually do a great job marketing their games. And these type shows are all about selling a product.

But you can't claim to do a better job at something when you don't have the experience, versus those who understand how shows like these work and the motivation behind them. One thing they know for sure; they won't please everyone. Please believe, they expect that.

As far as making the games you'd be right but I feel like a lot of gamers could choose a better collection of games to show and make the pacing better when it comes to their past events

I think they'll get it right this time

The key to really enjoying events like these is to expect games to be shown. That's it. Some will be gameplay, some will be CG, some will simply be announcements. Where most get let down is by thinking they know how to pull off these events better than the actual people that do this shit for a living. Then they come back with shit like, "not like that." If you knew better, you'd be there. Just enjoy whats on display. Some will resonate, some won't.

usually shows like these are a good time if you stop thinking you know jack shit about game development and how to market on a world wide scale. You're a consumer. Vote with your wallet. Not your mouth. (or keyboard)
I think what core gamers want in general from shows (maybe casual fans who so happen to catch it wont care) is something along these lines:

- New games
- AAA games or really polished decent budget indie games
- Gameplay
- Dates (or at least estimated dates)

The second any show skews to something like this, it get grilled:

- Same games shown again for the third time
- Low budget or indie galore
- CG trailers which is zero gameplay, or those trailers that dont even have that much. It's literally a 10 second logo splashed on screen
- No dates

With all the games out there, in which I'm sure third party studios would be itching to get some promotion, I dont see why it's that hard to have decent shows instead of ones with tons of low end filler and CG mania.

These quarterly shows by MS, Sony and Nintendo are half hour each. Each game show might get 1 minute of showtime. Is it that hard to ask game studios to get their dev team to put together a recording of a decent 1 minute clip of their game in progress?

One of the reasons I'm happy that we've been warned, and are now seeing, that few third parties are holding their own events. Decreases the likelihood that I'm going to have to wade through a bunch of stuff that bores me to death. Now, it's no guarantee because it could simply be that most big third parties have nothing to show right now. But after that State of Play and knowing we're seeing more Callisto Protocol and the reveal of Modern Warfare 2 at SGF, I'm fairly confident that any shows this Summer will be packed with more of the former list than the latter.

I know the chances are probably 0.000000000000000000000001%, but could they show anything about rumored Kojima project?

After the news that he is making Death stranding 2, I guess any other project seems impossible.
He's in the promo clip xbox put out...

... admittedly so is The Rock and Bill Gates.

So, maybe?

Makes no sense to give Phil credit for things like games that came out of Sony deals and Kickstarter.

Sony's involvement In Deathloop and Ghostwire is merely a cash payment to delay release on Xbox. No involvement in development.

There is factual evidence from Double Fine that Psychonauts 2 was significantly improved by Microsoft funding post acquisition.

Sony bought Insomniac in 2019 and they put out 2 big games already, MS sure is taking it's time. Hopefully they'll have a lot more to show in the event.

Ratchet and Clank - 2016.
Spider-man - 2018
Insomniac has two games out because their dev teams had had sufficient time from their last games to make the next game in the franchise.

Makes no sense to expect a new game from Obsidian before now after The Outer Worlds shipped in 2019. Or ID software after launching Doom Eternal in 2020. Or InXile after launching Wasteland 3 in 2020.

What we have now is a similar situation to Sony's first party in the first two years of the PS4. And that 'silence' paved the way for the onslaught of first party games from 2016 onwards. Certainly didn't see anyone claiming Sony first party was 'mismanaged' at the time.

A console gen is a 7 year marathon, not a sprint. But your 'concern' is noted.

Praise the Lord!
Lol @ 'needlessly'

… if you can't handle honest discussions.

Your "I don't like Xbox and Phil Spencer" line in this post is probably the only honest thing you've posted so far.

Of course, that begs the question of why you're constantly in Xbox threads, trolling.

I can see Harada announcing Tekken 8 (multiplat of course) but can't see any other JP figurehead.

Kamiya and Itagaki are not gonna be at an MS event, Squenix and Kojima are tied to Sony. Maybe something from Sega/Atlus now that their JP games are multiplat?

Uhm it was. Why in denial?
Just because people download it through gamepass, doesnt mean it sold like hot cakes.

You jumped into a conversation about quality to whine about commercial success.
How does that make sense to you?

Same as you, give me your denial drugs
Its ok if you liked the last two Gears games but the world has moved on from that Franchise

A thread for an upcoming showcase is no place for this discussion. Especially not with your post history. Move it along.

you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. And by checking your post history it is equally clear why.

Come on guys, this should be a thread full hype and excitement for potential upcoming games :)

Don't waste your time engaging with trolls, just add them to your ignore list, it sours the thread.

This is the right stance.

However, this is also neogaf.

Fingers crossed for some Perfect Dark here.

I really just want to see Avowed extended gameplay, Starfield GAMEPLAY, and Hellblade 2 Gameplay. Anything after that would just be icing on the cake for me. I'd also like a SF6 gameplay trailer with different characters than the Sony showcase. (Glad it's multi plat again hoping for true cross play) I don't expect much of anything from SE they may as well be Sony 1st party when it comes to their bigger projects. More than anything I'd like Perfect Dark and Killer Instinct to be shown and to be good.

There IS room for improvement. I've thought some of their past shows had some inclusions that I found puzzling. Stuff like that Darwin Project bit some years back, and the infamous first showcase in 2020 with Greenberg showing up in a grainy webcam.

Good thing is that their 'E3' June showcases are a lot better these days. I thought last year's showcase was quite well done, but there's always room for improvement.

I see the gold standard these days as the Apple events. Those guys are masters of visual flair and hype.

Obsidian's 3rd team, led by Josh Sawyer.

Really excited to see what he has.

Hopefully they do better to contain leaks this year. I want to be surprised!

A new KI game would be awesome.

Avowed is rumored for H1 2023 so likely we see gameplay. Also fingers crossed for a good Redfall showing.

Leaks have been super quiet on the Xbox front what I'm happy about as it means games can be a genuine surprise.

I still think Horizon 5 would've been a huge unexpected surprise, last year if it wasn't for Grubb & co. (They definitely robbed fans off that imo)

I would love for a new Killer Instinct to be announced, but if it isn't, I have street fighter 6 to tide me over.

I just hope we see gameplay for already revealed games and future titles, preferably like a small overview trailer to give an idea of what to expect etc.

& Game pass mentioned lots of times :)

Full roster leaked for SF6 and the initial roster is 22 before any dlc. My hype is at a million for that one. Give me a good netcode and true cross platform play and I WILL double dip.

If they show Starfield and Avowed gameplay then I'll be a happy man. Also hoping for more added to Halo Infinite campaign.

I'm genuinely really excited for this, the roster leak, has actually enhanced my excitement.

As the redesigns and new fighters looks great, can't wait to see their gameplay and proper match footage etc.
