Sounds like next gen consoles so far lolFinally someone has seen through the BS that the GPU market is. Absolute waste of money when all it comes down to is higher framerate and resolution. A fool and his money Springs to mind.

this guy gets it.The point is to play games at 4K120 or to use raytracing that is a generation ahead of console raytracing.
The focus on the new gpus is all dlss. A 4080 might be able to hit native 4k 60 fps but it won't be stable. Especially for games that are more cpu driven. My 3080 cant run cyberpunk at 4k 60 fps. I have to use DLSS performance which uses 1080p base resolution and it still tops out around 50 fps with ray traced lighting set to Quality instead of the max Psycho setting.
Im guessing 4080 wont be able to run it at native 4k 60 fps with ray tracing enabled since Nvidia is being shady about revealing actual non-DLSS performance metrics. Matrix also topped out at around native 4k 40 fps.
Oh no i got your point since your first reply, i was just talking about your pics specifically.Just like in real life,
Dynamic TOD means sometimes shit looks ugly other times it looks beautiful.
Consoles version looks uglier 10 times out of 10.
But thats not even the point.
We are talking about why would you buy a high powered PC to play the same games.....my point is the games look better on PC and run at a higher resolution and refresh rate.
If that improvement isnt worth it for you, thats fine....no one forced anyone to play on PC or even to buy a high powered GPU.
But for those that appreciate the higher quality.....theyve got hardware that can accommodate.
Theres people who still play on 1080p TN panels with washed out colors.
Thats them, you play on an OLED.
Effectively OP could have reframed this question as why do you want things to look better when you are actually playing the same shit?
Why did you pick up an OLED, why not keep playing on a TN 1080p TV.......that OLED cost ~1000 dollars, a TN 1080p screen you find in the bin for free.
Wait, i thought you were in the cyberpunk\rtx bandwagon, maybe i'm mistaking person.Same here, its just cherry picking pictures really.
I have the money to buy a 4090 ti and have both a PS5 and Series X. I chose to buy a laptop instead since it's portable and I like having a gaming laptop and switch combo when i'm travelling and PS5 and Series X while i'm at home.If you have the money why wouldn't you?
I mean a lot of people own both the high end consoles , it's because they can
+ Increased visual fidelity. You're lying to yourself if you're marginalizing framerate. Framerate can literally make or break a game in terms on how responsive it is.Finally someone has seen through the BS that the GPU market is. One is affordable the other is overpriced.Sounds like next gen consoles so far lol
Wanna weird anecdote?I think high end PC gaming used to have reasonable prices. 1080Ti at $699? Fucking phenomenal value for such a high spec card (which can still play every game today).
The pricing for the new set of cards is straight up eye gouging. Nvidia charging scalper/mining prices. Retarded as shit.
Since consoles are pretty much running on cpu architecture. What's the point of buying top of the line gpus when the majority of people have a 1060 and developers keep that in mind when developing most games. Sure the graphics maybe shinnier and you get a bit more fps but in comparison to consoles the gap isn't as big as it was like 10 years ago.

That's for the buyer to decide. You're not gonna talk someone who wants a Bugatti into buying a Jetta just because it makes more sense from a cost/performance perspective. One is affordable the other is overpriced.
Hardly the same when neither is being held back by older tech. We aren't seeing the full potential of these GPU's because engines can only scale so much, it's basically horsepower being left on the table, but I'm not telling anyone not to buy as it drives the industry forward. That's for the buyer to decide. Try playing Cyberpunk at native (no DLSS) 4K, all settings on ultra and RTX enabled on anything but a 3080/3090, then come back and tell us how it went.We aren't seeing the full potential of these GPU's

An elitist after my own heart!Cause I can't enjoy my games unless I let others know that I am able to play my games at maximum graphics. Honestly I don't even play games. I just build pcs to run games at maximum, knowing peasants can never have what I have. That's a bigger dopamine than games
Global Illumination is the true holy grail of RayTracing.
Weve been able to "fake" reflections for so long that I think techniques are good enough to just get away with it.
But Global Illumination is still some ways away from being properly "faked" to the point that its as game changing as it is in Metro Exodus and Dying Light.
Probe based GI does a really good job, but once youve gone RTGI, you really cant go back, even SSRTGI is better than no GI.
Not to whine that CP2077 looks outdated. With an 1060 looks like random old gen game. With 3080 is the most beautiful game released in the last years.Since consoles are pretty much running on cpu architecture. Just say epeenI enjoy having the fastest gpu, which us why I went from a 3090 to a 3090ti and will very much likely buy a 4090 then a 4090Ti.
