If they were gonna spend 70b on moneyhatting individual games then they would have already, especially when they basically had 0 launch games for their brand new consoles. They already said they will continue acquisitions after ABK and imagine what will happen if the ABK deal collapses and MS is left with 70 billion that they have already accounted for gaming acquisitions.
I think it will depend on the exclusivity terms for FF7R2, if Sony buys that as well (no-brainer), then they may stipulate an extension to the exclusivity of FF7R.Would be funny if it would come out of this that FF7R exclusivity is over and SE simply doesn't care enough about Xbox to port it.
Just as ludicrous as Sony crying to the agencies they wouldn't survive without Call of Duty, right? Better be able to back up ridiculous statements like that. They fucked around and are about to find out.Not petty, just cunts. Those requests are ludicrous, but they are the good guys™ of course. I'll keep reading through the thread, but it wouldn't surprise me to see some posters defending this as necessary.
Not really no. Sony did submit figures to support that it would be viable for Microsoft to make CoD exclusive and they've submitted info in relation to money generated too. The CMA actually said their numbers were based on a standard method whereas Microsoft's weren't.Just as ludicrous as Sony crying to the agencies they wouldn't survive without Call of Duty, right? Better be able to back up ridiculous statements like that. They fucked around and are about to find out.
ND was a multiplatform developer in the 16-bit days before PS1, Bluepoint did Titanfall Xbox 360 version, HouseMarque did some multiplatform games.Nope. The studios that Sony bought were practically set up and funded by Sony for years before the acquisitions -- Naughty Dog, Bluepoint, HouseMarque, Firesprite, Sucker Punch, etc.
How many IPs and games were removed from Xbox because of these purchases? A grand total of 0.
Your comment doesn't negate any of my points, though.ND was a multiplatform developer in the 16-bit days before PS1, Bluepoint did Titanfall Xbox 360 version, HouseMarque did some multiplatform games.
Call of Duty sucess on consoles and therefore on the IP as a whole had a major marketing from Xbox, Bethesda Studios games were first on Xbox and 360.
Would be funny if it would come out of this that FF7R exclusivity is over and SE simply doesn't care enough about Xbox to port it.

Except that you explicitly said "set up", which is not the case.Your comment doesn't negate any of my points, though.
If you have to go back 30+ years all the way to before PS1, then that only proves my point that those studios have been working with Sony "for years."
What games has Xbox removed from Playstation after an acquisition? Also, these acquisitions by Sony did not remove or prevent any games from coming to Xbox. On the other hand, most Xbox acquisitions are like that and remove IPs and games from PlayStation, instead of adding anything new to Xbox.
Well it's pretty obvious that ABK was cozy enough with Xbox to get into business with them and agree to the acquisition. Bethesda also had a long standing relationship with Xbox before it ever did with PS.Hence, it's not comparable at all.
Also, ABK has marketing agreements with Sony and are really close with them. They have the largest community on PlayStation. So was the case for Bethesda. You're referring to things that happened 15+ years ago.
It's a two way street. Sony flinch at the idea of an insanely long, by industry standards, 10 year agreement but call foul on sharing their own tactics for a similar period of time in the same industry segment (while being an asshat walled garden market #2 player). LOL.
Put up or shut on. Fuck Sony. Twats want to get involved then be prepared to take as good as you give. Great entertainment seeing Sony's bullshit moneyhatting tactics laid bare.
Wasn't it Sony that made rounds and visited most of major publishers to get some exclusive content for ps5? There were some reports that in some cases Sony outbid Ms for games marketing rights/timed exclusivity etc. so company will smaller market cap but bigger mind share can poke the bear now and then. Issue is now, when the memed warchest of MS became reality and opened in 2018, just slightly and now it is fully in beast mode. They already said they will continue acquisitions after ABK and imagine what will happen if the ABK deal collapses and MS is left with 70 billion that they have already accounted for gaming acquisitions.
That's not what what report is saying stop spreading fud. It's your wishful thinking just wait till next week when they publish their provisional findings which isn't a final decision btw.NYT is reporting that CMA likely opposing & that they don't give a shit about remedies.

In the same thread people are posting red dragon Twitter quotes the biggest console warrior on Twitter ? You guys don't hide your bias at all where's the outrage for the red dragon Twitter quotes? Are you seriously posting twitter warrior bullshit here?

Lmaoo you have proof of this? Or you just pull shit out your butt? You have no proof of any version of those games existing on PlayStation. The game director of hi fi rush said there was no console of that version until their acquisition are you calling him a liar? Also Microsoft honored their commitment to shipping psyconauts 2 on ps4 and other platforms after their acquisition of double fine. There's nothing saying now that they paid to have a Xbox series version built that it has to be on PlayStation what's stupidity. These are the games that were already in development, but PlayStation lost them permanently, because Microsoft acquired these studios.
- Starfield
- Redfall
- Hi-Fi Rush
- The Outer Worlds 2*
- Psychonauts 2 (PS5)
- Bleeding Edge
- Hellblade 2
OW2* wasn't in development before the acquisition, but it's a sequel to a game that was released on PlayStation and has a community on PlayStation, but Microsoft is making the sequel exclusive.

Yeah, we've got folks like @Ansphn proclaiming the death of Xbox every time Phil Spencer farts. I agree.....it is annoying.
Calm down.Lmaoo you have proof of this? Or you just pull shit out your butt? You have no proof of any version of those games existing on PlayStation. He was just asking for proof. A trailer with the PS logo or official confirmation from the developers would work too. Games that were actually announced for PlayStation were not canceled because of a MS acquisition. See Ghostwire Toyko and Deathloop for confirmation.Calm down.
All these games started development before Microsoft acquired the studios.
Are you saying that all developers were making these games as full-time Xbox exclusives on their own, even before Microsoft approached them for the acquisition?
The game director of the game said that there was no PlayStation version. In the case of red fall no one even knows that was a year after Microsoft acquired them. Bleeding edge didn't get green lit for release until Microsoft bought ninja theory. Again starfeild had no designated platform when it was announced. It's weird to say games were pulled from a platform that they were never announced for. That's like people saying games that were never announced were canceled.Calm down.

lol relevant content is the new term for shit posting huh we all know why red dragon is posting it. It fits your narrative so you support it. But you're telling another user he can't do the same thing. The difference is those red dragon tweets actually have relevant content in them. If he was posting warrior shit like whattwilo99 posted then absolutely I would call it out. I call out warrior shit regularly.
Just yesterday in fact...
Exactly not to mention Microsoft could have paid the penalty to cancel those agreements. Phil's a better guy than me no way I buy a company for 7 billion and have two of the games held hostage for a year but he did it anyways to show good faith business. Something we know Sony would have never done considering they were trying to get all active bathesda games exclusive to their platform. He was just asking for proof. Beginning to see a pattern here... almost like warriors can't possibly think for themselves and have to defend their plastic box at all costs.
Bro my comment was just for fun I have no place in thisBeginning to see a pattern here... almost like warriors can't possibly think for themselves and have to defend their plastic box at all costs.
Folks, it is OK to admit many of these games were being designed for PlayStation. That isn't a *bad* thing. Nor is it a bad thing that MS bought the company and made them exclusive. All major publishers/console manufacturers do this. See past your little company that doesn't know you exist and look at reality for once.
Lol sounds like something a warrior would say. I'm going based on facts that the developer themselves said. If you're calling them a liar than say that.Beginning to see a pattern here... almost like warriors can't possibly think for themselves and have to defend their plastic box at all costs.

We have no way of ever knowing. All we do know is that confirmed PlayStation games get released regardless of a MS acquisition. Some games like Minecraft for instance gets additional content and and updates post acquisition. Pyschonauts 2 was also mentioned earlier. With this very acquisition MS has stated numerous times they will keep CoD on PlayStation. I'd wager there are far more titles that Xbox has lost vs. PlayStation. You haven't answered my question.
These games were already in development. Do you believe that all these games were already being made as permanent Xbox console exclusives (even before Microsoft began the acquisition talks?)
Yup MS has done its best to be a good actor in the games' industry. They have to because its easy for them to be accused of being a monopoly. The funny thing that despite 20+ years in third place people are still trying to create a narrative they are 'dominating' games. Xbox the third place monopolist strikes again!Exactly not to mention Microsoft could have paid the penalty to cancel those agreements. Dude you have a bottle of ky jelly with the word Sony on it. Your options matter nothing to me. Microsoft could do nothing right by you you're in every Xbox thread parroting the same things. The recent red dragon tweets posted in this thread contain externally sourced information along with details on where said information has come from.
If you're not intelligent to see the difference then nobody can help you.
At this point I think it's unwise to assume they even think.

Can anyone explain why this deal will make a difference to anything for Xbox?
COD is already f2p, what benefit will I see when the next COD comes out?

As far as I know for mainline CoD that multiplayer isn't free either. You do realise they make more than one game don't you? Not just call of duty.
Also the online is f2p but the main game aint

Everything every business does is about money. Making money doesn't mean that it can't be good for consumers and the overall business environment. It's stupid to be in denial about that. Your comments about euthanasia are absurd. This is a perfect example of absolute stupidity. Giant corporations are not your friends. They are not good. Everything they do revolves around money. Microsoft would euthanize everyone over 50 if they could make a trillion dollars and be lauded for it.
Dude you have a bottle of ky jelly with the word Sony on it. Your options matter nothing to me. Microsoft could do nothing right by you you're in every Xbox thread parroting the same things.

I only play COD warzone. Why can't microsoft use that 70 billion to make my console cheaper? $500 dollars is a lot of money for a Series X. If they lowered the price I would buy one.You do realise they make more than one game don't you? Not just call of duty.
Also the online is f2p but the main game aint
Do you get paid for posting here or are you working for Activision? I play COD because I like smoking weed and chilling with my mates. We don't care if there are most posters up or microsoft make money. What's the benefit to me as a cod player?Branding, marketing, getting all the revenue it generates etc. And of course there's more IP to Activision than CoD, even though it doesn't feel like that anymore.
As far as I know for mainline CoD that multiplayer isn't free either.
The biggest draw of this acquisition for MS is expanded mobile presence and the biggest Activision games hitting Game pass day one. Currently Activision does not put their titles on subscription services day one. Extra experienced development studios and IP are also a big draw.
Making multi-platform games is more expensive than developing for a single platform. Using your logic titles like Street Fighter 5 and Final Fantasy 7 remake would have hit Xbox along with PlayStation but we know how that turned out. Sometimes games do not hit every platform. Xbox owners know this very well.Commercial content produced in order to make an ROI by companies that traditionally were platform agnostic.
There is an above average probability most if not all of these, would have found their way to non-MS platforms had those companies remained independent.
It would be easier to prove these titles were only considered for MS platform releases prior to acquisition - that would be an unusual scenario with much fanfare made of it.
So let's see your evidence for that - without such evidence, logic dictates these were mutiplat.
