It's under pay wall for me as well but you can read an "according..." in the free text. We'll have to wait until someone with full access posts the whole article but it comes to no surprise that CMA won't budge unless Microsoft gives up on COD, it's what they already asked, there's nothing so far that can change their preliminary findings.

I'm in for a bigger Gamepass library so it would be a loss no doubt for me.
But I assume they will try to acquire some other studio instead in that case so it could end on a positive note anyway.
 
Having doubts about that Lulu tweet. Why would she be the only one to know about this? Warren would have been briefed about this if jimbo said that. There is no way they dont use stuff like that in their pr campaign.

I know it will never happen, but Lulu should really take a break from Twitter. The realization that a huge payday may not be coming is transparent in how she comes off. All the attention is probably hard to give up, though.

I can only assume this is an advert to tell Microsoft shareholders the deal is off.

Everyone in the UK knows there is less than half that number of people living in the entire country, and the CMA's job is to protect brits, no one else.

The advert also shows their duplicity that they are trying to unite ATVI with Xbox, despite it supposedly being a strategic acquisition for all of Microsoft gaming, because Xbox certainly hasn't got $10b spare for acquisitions, never mind the $70b for this one.

Strange how they fitted unite Xbox with ATVI in the advert along with more games on more platforms without seeing the obvious contradiction.

They do know that the UK knows its own population and 150m is a bit high. Maybe they should have tailored it to additional UK gamers maybe. They need to put Europeans in charge of the strategy as this does not work. Europe ≠ USA.

My guess is that if it goes through, Microsoft will have to put COD on Playstation Plus same day as Game Pass, and the versions must have complete parity. COD is going to be shackled.

Sony is not trusting Microsoft on this, and honestly, why would they? Microsoft has consistently targeted them in its PR messaging and didn't even have the decency to negotiate in private.
