You might be right; they could do a FF IX Remake trailer teaser if a remake's actually in development. Still think it might be a tad too soon; if the FF VII remake's being stretched out across three games they may wait until the 3rd part is in its last year or two of dev before doing a IX Remake teaser.
So that's probably something closer to 2026 at the earliest.
I'm hoping Sony at least do what Sega has been doing, and partner with talented outside studios who can work on modern versions of those legacy IP. But, maybe with a bit more budget, like some of them could be at Stray or Kena levels of production value, if not all of them.
I don't think those games in particular were expensive to develop, probably $10-$20 million budgets for each tops and that's an extreme high end.
Just as long as they still have the cinematic cutscenes of the original and at least the Psycho Mantis controller trick in there, people will be all smiles.
Ah man, if there's a 3D SOTN remake being done by Bluepoint, and it gets revealed at the showcase, the internet will break in half. It'd cause mass hysteria, be insane hype.
