That does not destroy their argument.

They just removed the console SLC from their decision to focus on the cloud. They know these companies want cloud to be the primary end game.

I think the COD/Nintendo stuff from Jim was also to highlight how empty MS's promise of bringing COD to Nintendo platforms is. I.e it's not that ABK needs to be acquired by MS to put COD there, it's the fact ABK themselves did not see enough of a buying audience on prior Nintendo systems to justify bringing COD to the Switch.

Y'know, kinda like how Square-Enix observed prior poor sales of Final Fantasy games on 360 & XBO and made a choice to go with Sony for future Final Fantasy games as console exclusives because the money/time for Xbox versions wasn't worth it for them anymore 🤔
 
So he believes that Microsoft has incentive to make CoD exclusive, but also admits that Microsoft would honor any contract deals to publish CoD on PS?

Anything else important from this testimony?

Same way the MS CFO was redacted. There are key pieces of information that are trade secrets and financials that can't be put out to the public.

Because they don't want to? They are stuck with that day one Game Pass expectations.

But when they really want to, they get it. For example, they got a AAA Indiana Jones exclusive to a permanent Xbox/PC exclusive (not even a timed one) + a day one Game Pass deal.

That would have easily cost them more than $100 million.

I'm really not sure what he said to sway the needle against the merger. He kinda contradicted himself, especially with that "I don't want to answer your question."

where are you getting that idea? Redacted information was cut from the video, not "heavily edited" before going to courts.

They don't realize that it does not change or impact the CMA decision or ECs agreement with the CMA like the think it does. The CMA knew about Jim's views on that prior to their decision since this was recorded on April 7th - 9th, I believe. But narratives gonna narrate.
