Is BBQ a desert?

Never had one. I dont think they really sell pulled pork sandwhiches here but the US stuff is always kinda sweet anyways. Here in the old continent things are more salty then sweet.

You British? No BBQ isn't a desert. It's not a dessert either. If you can't handle BBQ then I feel really sorry for you cause it's amazing.

Maybe they just slathered a ton of sauce on there and you had a bad experience.

Yeah way too much sauce and way too sweet hardly any tang. I was just being hyperbolic

BBQ isnt a desert, forest or mountain. :)

But BBQ sauces dont have to be sweet. It's just that the typical American BBQ sauce probably is. The traditional Jerk BBQ can be mild or hot and isn't sweet at all.

BBQ is amazing. You can eat pulled pork on its own or with sauce. It is all good. We have a regional sauce that is great. I like pickles on my bbq pork.

Not a desert you Crogetty old curmudgeon.

These are babybacks I did last month.

Good BBQ doesn't need sauce.
That would last me an hour. I can polish off two full racks of ribs with sides. And then eat another rack later in the hour.

I do that every once in a while at an all you can eat rib restaurant. lol

Edit: Maybe not all 3. Your ribs look way bigger and meatier!

Sounds like you suck at barbecuing if your meat is like a desert, dude.

You need to trap them juices. That's FLAVOR my man.

Have a blessed day.

BBQ sauce (and ketchup) should be classified as liquid candy

Indeed. It's high in sugar. Therefore I rather use vinegar based sauces like Frank's. With that said I'm a sauce lover at heart and if sauce is the only substance containing a relative sugar dense substance I don't care.

Sauce is Life.

Agreed, I'll take a good marinade though. Replace the orange juice with actual sour orange juice you'd have some great stuff.

Indeed. The best complimentary condiments are home made. But you know the downside of said process which leads to a great % rather just buy a sauce I reckon.

I don't eat sugar* at all and idgaf how I should eat or interpret my meals or snacks with a cultural pre decided order.

*yes sugar is present in a high% of food. I'm talking about candy, icecream, cookies etc.
