Anyone who though Xbox wasn't releasing a PS5 Pro competitor was a delusional fucking idiot. And there it is.

Xbox design team, the design looks like shit, some ugly cylinder...
When Luke Wilson is helping designing your consoles, you know you're in trouble.Xbox design team,

Pro will be $599 max, but I can see a digital only launching for $499. At that point, refreshed XSX looks like a terrible proposition.
And use steamThe day there is no option for physical media I will jump exclusively to PC, and they won't see a cent of my money
You can back up your games on the PC to physical format, for those who still want that option. And use steam![]()
Mid-Gen Refresh/Slim Console =/= Pro ConsoleI thought there was no need for a mid gen refresh? Isn't that what this is?
Live picture of refreshed series x customizationXDL is Xbox Design Lab, you will be able to customise your controller and console this time.
Ok so Brooklyn is the Slim/Cylindrical Xbox. Not sure I get why. I mean I all for the new controller, but that's about it for me.Mid-Gen Refresh/Slim Console =/= Pro Console
Downsized chip, more efficient power-wise, new controller, and doubled SSD capacity. Effectively a soft re-launch.Ok so Brooklyn is the Slim/Cylindrical Xbox. Not sure I get why. I mean I all for the new controller, but that's about it for me.
No longer called a gimmick.Haptic feedback is about to get popular among our green rat friends![]()

Yet they couldn't fix the damn Dpad. My Xbox is off 95% of the day (PC gamer). When it's on I'm watching youtube, twitch or lazily browsing the net with my controller.Downsized chip, more efficient power-wise, new controller, and doubled SSD capacity. Effectively a soft re-launch.
Most gamers are buying digital today. All digital is a hard pass for me. MS are clueless when it comes to what gamers want. So much for Phil and his talks of GAMES PRESERVATION. Hopefully they wake the hell up and at least have an option to add an external disc drive like the newer PS5. If they dont I am done with Xbox and will just enjoy my PS5.

Of those that aren't, people are switching all the time and aren't gung-ho about physical.. the die-hards are a minority; not that your opinion isn't important. But you are in the minority.
Minority? Aren't most Nintendo games sold today still physical? Last time I checked the Switch had sold more units than Sony and Microsoft combined.

IMO It's going to be the same as the Slim - digital but you can buy the external drive.
As for the price point, there really isn't any reason to sell it at a loss given the Slim. There's a reason why MS didn't plan on doing a real mid gen refresh... manufacturing costs are going up. The Pro is going to be a targeted device at 30 fps haters and not much else.
That new console design looks nice.
Not going to buy it, but it looks nice.
It literally says in the leaks they are planning a new Series S too.
I missed that info, if that's true they have no idea what they are doing. What's the sense of doing a refresh of two skus?
They might as well wait until the new gen.
i still feel like people are reporting that it's confirmed that MS is responsible, but what is the argument? it's just repeating what the FTC spokesperson said. what is the evidence that MS is responsible? there's nothing there.
i don't think it makes sense that the FTC would be responsible, but the reporting isn't giving a clear reason why.
I think he said that it's at the beginning of the end of its life cycle, a small difference.
It makes sense. PS5 6nm revision draws 10% less power and since the relationship between clock and power draw is not linear, XSX can easily see a 15% reduction in power draw compared to PS5 10% since it is clocked 20% lower (1.8GHz vs 2.2GHz). Also, no Blu-ray drive.I don't quite understand how they are getting 15% improvement on power draw with that 6nm process, I don't think it's that big of a step
No, he said it's at the end of the beginning of its life cycle. THAT is quite different from what you said.![]()

I can probably count on one hand the amount of times a disk has been in my Series X...
What kind of masochist is using disks these days..?
Psychotic behavior.
You people would have wanted the ipad to be a portable dvd player.
This is the shit I've been saying I wanted since this all started
Let it slip boy let it slip
It offers 18% higher transistor density. Smaller transistors means smaller distance the signal has to travel.I don't quite understand how they are getting 15% improvement on power draw with that 6nm process, I don't think it's that big of a step
Great looking redesign and more than happy to sacrifice the drive I've never used for double the storage, makes more sense for Gamepass and the 30 million plus customers, always said Starfield would push them over that figure.
These games on top of the announces line up is just incredible, going way past the 360 era now, greatest first party line up in history.
Good to see that we have next gen in the pipeline too, always thought the naysayers were wrong again.
This is the issue. Gaming is not an investment (unless you plan on being a professional gamer). For most people, it is just entertainment.Maybe people who don't want to waste money? At least in Europe physical is significantly cheaper most of the time. Then on top of that you can get part of that investment back by reselling games. The $100 more you paid for the console doesn't take long to make back.
Now if digital games were cheaper than physical, as they logically should be (zero manufacturing or distribution costs except for some server bandwidth), I'd be with you. But that's not the case. And once physical is no longer an option at all MS and Sony can charge whatever the hell they want. So yay digital future!
