I think it was something along the lines of "old Mario with a grey beard running through a green pipe", didn't specify any style so I guess I just got lucky it produced anything that looked decent.

I don't believe these things are intrinsically mutually exclusive. AI art is often very good, but currently contains many flaws. An artist can easily take a generated image and retouch it, using the generation as a base. It can be collaborative.

I might be doing something wrong, but I'm seeing that it has a tough time displaying specific characters, especially if that character is lesser known or not really popular at all. I tried multiple times to get it to display Metal Gear Solid characters who aren't as prominent as Snake and Raiden, like Vamp, Eva, Sigint, etc. and it kept turning Solid Snake or Raiden into the concept of what those names might mean, or a concept of what they mean in terms of a background.

For example for Vamp, it either made Snake a vampire, made him a female vampire, or put him in a room with vampires, but no Vamp character was present in any of the results.
