Limiting the PC version to 60 FPS so they can play nicely with consoles is a horrible "creative decision".

Just watched Super GTs review and his footage looks amazing, I think there has been some problems with capture for some people because it's definitely not washed out.

It didn't look great on his review. Everything was blown in your face. The lighting was so weird and showed how less detailed/sharp everything is.

I have 500+ hours in GT7 on PS5.

I know what it looks like, every condition, every track.

Forza definitely is a step above in this video.

The rain, spray and wet surface do look quit a bit too much and makes the game look more arcady and less realistic. This game has to much trackside flashing colours what alone irritates me to watch.

It's too funny.

Anyone and their dog can see that there is an exposure issue going on in a lot of the footage but some people have twisted themselves into believing that's what their eyes see in real life.
That is why I made a joke about how the visuals of Forza remind me of the way people with depression perceive colors (there are actually studies on this, people report seeing the world in more gray/dull tones) in contrast to the colors someone perceives right after an orgasm (again, there are studies on this, people report seeing more intense colors).

The copium is real here. We are going to start seeing PC 4090 Forza Motorsport 8 footage comparing it to the lowly 9 teraflop PS5/2 teraflop PS4 GT7.

The PC version is not limited to 60. You can run it any frame rate, it only gets locked in cross-device MP races.

Nah, there's something not right in any of the videos I've seen, and I've watched a lot including the ones you've recommended. The light balance isn't right. It looks similar to when you have gamma set too high. My only reservation is, I'd like to see a proper full HDR capture rather than SDR. But its not looking correct at this moment in time.

It's especially funny because many posters said they liked the more 'grounded/realistic' visuals from Forza, lmao

It's especially funny because you can see where some posters said "send reply" without reading the later posts first.

FYI, you're instigating an incorrect point here. The bug happens if you change modes in the game and not restart it, the IGN video in the OP looks like it has that.

The other channel video and pictures, and even the DF ones, are captured without the bug:

You can immediately see what the bug does here:

I'm sure he's glad to have you backing him up

you all really should work on your scheduling to make sure your shifts sync up better in the future

Y'all aren't doing a good job on-boarding the late arrivals, see above. tsk tsk.

They did that because the game literally runs faster laps for people with high refresh rate monitors and instead of fixing their game they just put limits on PC players

And that's what I've been saying, no matter how much tech you put into it. PD are magicians when it comes to lighting.
Its the HDR that still blows me away with GT7. Subtle, but superb. Very immersive. Just how I like it.

Can someone more techinically minded explain to me why the interiors are pitch black here? the dashboard has proper light bounce, but everything inside has no global illumination whatsoever. i drive around during the day and its not pitch black in my car. i thought this game was supposed to have realtime GI?

There is another scene where the dashboard reflects on the screen as you drive under street lamps and its fantastic. but then you see this. I wonder if they need RTGI to fix this but i literally thought realtime GI was suppose to handle global illumination like this.

That was the first thing I noticed.

At what resolution was this captures? Like i said before, cars, lighting trackside lighting, details...it's all very inconsistent.
Its an Xbox screenshot, no idea of res lol, SX is set to 60fps RT ON

They might've tried to correct the washed out look when making the video and messed it up.
What's going on with the left side of that image? Is it meant to look blocky?

nah, light bounce is fine in this gif. it illuminates the interiors as you under the lamps. i really like the reflections of the dashboard popping up on the windscreen. not sure if its ray traced reflections because those are limited to cars reflecting on cars, but its pretty cool.

Xbox guys love it, PlayStation guys hate it. No quarter given. Typical thread. Yawn.

Thankfully, I get to play it soon for no cost regardless.

Content aside, it looks great to me!

Reminds me of Driveclub, certain scenarios it looks amazing, other lighting can be a bit meh. Audio via decent headset with Atmos is top notch though!

No one hates anything. They're looking at screenshots and critiquing (the same shit that happens to most games here).

The previous Forza games had that so it doesn't need RT to do it. Has been criticised for being too much on FM games before, the windscreen is like a mirror of the car's interior. Turn 10 do like to exaggerate their effects rather than just making them realistic. On PC, you could disable the reflections altogether in Horizon games which is much better. When driving in real life you see through the windscreen and aren't constantly looking at distracting reflections.

Both games look great. You know that because people have to take very cherry picked shots to do the whole "you see!!! You see!!"

It's sad to see ign feed the war and people to partake in it. Both games look amazing in their differences 🤷‍♂️

I want to see their physics calculation that takes FPS into account. It should be a simple velocity vector using the difference in time between the last render start time and the current render start time. Low fps, the vector is longer. High fps, the vector is shorter. When you work the math out, both high and low fps should go at the same speed.

So games of similar style/purpose aren't allowed to be compared?

I love this effect. I remember posting gifs of the GT7 trailers that go overboard with interiors reflecting all over the cars.

Really hope PD can get there with GT8 on a PS5 only game.
