Console warriors are now cheering for Nintendo lmao? All Nintendo's games are on PC running at 4k/60.
They want to grow margins, not console sales. It seems clear that console sales are not going to grow this gen. More people in the world, less PS5s than PS4a. If they can increase margins across console and PC that means each game makes more back. Why should it matter what platform a game sells on outside of who recoups 100% revenue from the sale?but how do you grow console if you release day 1 1st party games on other platforms like PC?

Sony need to have a PS app on PC and sell games directly through their store. Then add the ability to play anywhere. Basically what xbox does. They could be cunty about it and require a basic PS+ account for play anywhere.
Day 1 on PC would probably sell more on PC than day 450. It is unclear how much that would impact day 1 sales on PS. They should run that experiment. I tend to buy their major releases via preorder and would change to PC if they were day 1 there.

Feels like, if this tweet thread is true, it's basically Sony is going to stay the course they've already set themselves on... but somehow that got blown up to day/date PC and PS on Xbox. There's no correcting it now because Twitter is garbage and fanboys are relentless. It was obvious to me but Xbox fans are desperate now, so they read too much into it to feel a little better
I had a feeling there was more to this "news." It just didn't seem logical for Sony to act as was originally suggested. The explanations provided in that tweet thread are far more coherent and really should be included in the op.That's some pretty good analysis, imo.

Sony didn't say anything wrong. "Analysts" on Twitter doesn't understand what they are reading and fill in the blanks for $$.Probably a good time for Sony to keep their mouth shut about stuff like this or generation cycles etc.
Shoot them selves while their competitor is actively also shooting themselves. lmao
Good pointSony didn't say anything wrong. "Analysts" on Twitter doesn't understand what they are reading and fill in the blanks for $$.

Analyst tied to Microsoft, yes....
And thats the right mindset. Similar to Sony exec's except they havent done big SP day one PC ports yet. But you can see they are already doing day one GAAS like Helldivers, so they are testing the waters.Very happy PS5 and Switch owner here. No interest in getting a PC for a number of reasons.
Completely fine with PC getting more Sony 1st party games. Whatever it takes for Sony to get the ROI it needs to keep making these epic single player games. The biggest threat is GAAS and Gamepass which combined take the incentive out of making top of the line single player games.
If PC gamers want to buy 1-2N of Sony's 1st party games for $69.99 a pop and add another $50-$100M ROi to these games. By all means, go ahead!
Where is that clown anyway?

We'll have to wait and see about big day one PC ports.![]()
Hermen Hulst - PlayStation GAAS releasing day-one on PC, SP games at least one year after console release
There is is, just as i've been saying. They know what they are doing.www.neogaf.com
I stopped at the first bulletpoint because you're wrong.
We'll have to wait and see about big day one PC ports.
If this was 2019, nobody would had guessed in 2024 all the PC ports and MLB on Xbox/Switch.
When SONY drop 1st party game on PC day 1 I'm so going to troll him hard hahaha
And Sony could had said forget it. Kill the game. But they decided to keep it going and release games on Xbox and Switch because its still worth the money. Sony San Diego makes games for MS and Nintendo systems for years.MLB is published by.... THE MLB
Has nothing to do with Sony.
The League forced Sony to port it to other consoles otherwise they would have lost the MLB license and GAME OVER

Thats what I'm saying. If it's worth the money to keep regardless of making ports for competing systems they'll make ports.LOL
So they would have KILLED the only Sports game they have to avoid making ports????
Sony has the Baseball exclusive on the market, they were NEVER going to kill that franchise....
But keep believing it's a Sony decision if you want to.... but it's FALSE
I'm a patient guy…revenge is a dish best served coldYou will wait a long time, buddy
Thats what I'm saying. If it's worth the money to keep regardless of making ports for competing systems they'll make ports.
Sure it does.MLB The Show was a Playstation exclusive UNTIL the MLB forced Sony to port it to Xbox/Switch
So your point doesn't stand....
Sure it does.
Sony can say they dont want to make the game anymore so Xbox and Switch doesn't get it. But they continue making it with Xbox and switch games because the money is good and worth doing.
Who ever said MLB is forcing Sony to make MLB games forever?
Like a McDonald's burger.I'm a patient guy…revenge is a dish best served cold
You have a hard time understanding things. So you are saying that without the MLB forcing this, they would have ported MLB the Show to Xbox anyway???
I'm not sure you are serious

Who knew MLB owned Sony San Diego and forces that studio to make whatever game they want. lolMe? You don't actually understand that MLB the SHOW PUBLISHER is MLB not SONY!
So in reality it's not even a FIRST PARTY title anymore
It's DEVELOPED by a Sony studio, THAT'S IT
Who knew MLB owned Sony San Diego and forces that studio to make whatever game they want. lol
If I want to play Sony games, I'll play it on my 4070 PC at better settings and higher frame frates. Heck, I can play Helldivers 2 right now if i wanted to that looks better than PS5.Just have fun waiting for real Sony games (as in PUBLISHED) to show up on Xbox then....
LOL
He's going by the data released. The internet is jumping to conclusions as are you.I dont believe this is all. Sony already stated all of this, it doesn't make sense to just further confirm it that they just stay on course when they aint happy with the numbers.
