Should I sell my PS5?

Yes.

I sold mine because the quality and quantity of games being released on it is very poor. This is easily the worst console generation (which is why I sold the Series X too).

They're both shit.

Honestly I dont see how you're wrong. Sony has truly fucking been useless this gen, in the last 2 years especially. Until they show us why to be excited, I blame no one for selling this shit right now.

Huge blockbuster games, the ones the Sony is known for, take a long time to make now. Easily over five years of development time. Sony studios aren't sitting around doing FA.

I know people will point to all the huge games Microsoft has released and is releasing, but the truth is, if Microsoft hadn't bought two publishers, people would also be questioning where the Xbox games are.

I purchased it on day 1 to play exclusive single player games, 4 years later I get to play games like Concord. Where are the games Sony promised us? At least on the Xbox side we get AAAAA games like Starfield to keep us entertained.
Selling for a series x or s and get gamepass if your not happy with Sonys efforts. I have 2 years of backlogs how you have no games to play isn't valid. You should say there are games I don't care for but saying there isn't games is crazy!

am I the only one who actually likes the PS5?

I sold mine.

Also bought it for single player exclusives and ended up never using it. Performance difference with PC is so wide that I'd rather wait for ports for even some of my favorite IPs, for example FFVII Rebirth.

I do want to play Astro Bot but will wait for a PC release or maybe get another PS5 (Pro?) in the future, especially if GTA VI launches on consoles first.

Entering the thread thinking would have a reasoning(maybe the console is not for the tastes, maybe its getting problems or something else like having a PC, etc), but no. Shame.

I'm not selling mine, but it is true most of my gaming budget and play time goes to Nintendo because portability + exclusives.

I will be getting Switch 2 day one but I'll probably hold off on the PS6.

Well, I'm keeping my PS5 because I sold my PS4 Pro. It is basically my PS4 Pro Pro for my mostly physical PS4 game collection.
Stella Blade may be my 1st truly PS5 exclusive game when I decide to buy down the line, but by then - it could be ported on PC.

I mostly only play Sega/Atlus/Falcom/Capcom and Dragon Quest - so I think I will just go with PC being main, and consoles as sub platform (I like new h/w toys) - depending on how interesting the hardware/controller they are.

Platform uniqueness and exclusivity is really important for me... and I like varying experiences especially for consoles. Now they are just feel like cost-efficient PC game playing machines.

So you sell your PS5, then what?
Try making a list of games you want that aren't (going to be) on Playstation.

Quite honestly, what's the point of bemoaning the state of one platform when you can't point elsewhere and say the situation is radically different?

I've still never played that one but thanks for the reminder... I need to look into that

Dude its $15 you better buy it NOW

Its my 2nd fav Vanilla game with Muramasa still holding #1

And the games Microsoft have released have been shit.

Trolls, hype gamers and Xbox fanboys aren't getting anything out of the PS5 platform. Everybody else has a lot to sink their teeth into. I have never had so many games and so little time to play them.

Ps5 is highly coveted, the blu ray player, the AAA games (which is blown out of proportion) so I think it's fair to sell your PS5, bring it to a pawn store first and see what you get, put it on Facebook marketplace I assure you eBay will get you more money but shipping and selling might present a challenge.

I still play Series S daily (Injustice 2 and various collections) despite no interest in future releases on the system. If the backwards compatible catalog you own is strong enough than it would still be the most hassle free way to play. You already spent the money, so what is the harm in keeping it?

Yes. Sell everything, sell your shoes as well.

Do make a thread to inform us though

Can you go back to the old icon?

It has been shitty in terms of new single player games you can't play on PS4. For me thought Rift Apart, Returnal, FFXVI and Spider-Man 2 were worth the price of the console and there's far more to come although I'll be there on day one for the Pro.

If your bet on exclusives didn't work out, then move on. Personally, if I was to buy a console for its exclusives (only) I'd wait until said exclusives arrive. I bought it for many other (non-exclusives) games and I'm happy.

Stellar Blade, FF7R, Returnal, Demon Souls, soon Wukong you can only play those on PS5, not on Xbox, and i can go on.

Nice try tho

The only thing i agree with this shitty thread is that Concord is a worthless game.

This IS how I imagine Xbox fans would post if they existed, but there aren't any left.

Nah, I've done similar things before and then 6 months down the line regretted it. Just hold on for now, I'm sure they'll release something you want to play some time soon.

Yes, do it. I also did it and I had every PlayStation since the first one.
Sony entered this generation with a lot of momentum and now we're almost 4 years in and the console still has no memorable exclusives lineup.

Returnal is on PC, Wukong will also be releasing on PC the same day as PS5 and later on Xbox. FF7R will most likely also be coming to PC like Remake did and Stellar Blade probably also will even though it's mid and should not be an argument for buying/keeping a console.
Only game left is a PS3 game with pretty graphics.
