My guess is this Valorant launch did somewhat well, trying out a new model. f2p game on GP unlocking things. Must have seen some high participation. Also could be they have an unexpected gap in September and are struggling to fill it with something.

I just connected my Xbox and Battle.net accounts. It checked for my Game Pass subscription and applied benefits to current/future releases.

Hopefully it works and I don't have to log in via Xbox to receive Game Pass rewards.

With Battlenet, Nintendo, PS and Xbox it'd be conservative to estimate that it's drawing 100k concurrent players daily.

Video Game Addiction and Using moms credit card for v bucks will keep Fortnite alive for awhile.

September went from "OMG too packed we must delay games give backlogs breathing room" to "we have a gap so lets offer a f2p game on a subscription"

GP unlocks every character in the Riot games. Which is pretty big.
