Which isn't too surprising, Arkham Knight released 9 years ago and they've been wasting time ever since. I wouldn't stick around either no matter how much I loved making Batman games.

Nope. OG team is long gone including leadership/one of the founders. It's only a shell of its former self and the name has been tarnished enough with SS. Whatever they're doing its at least 7+ years from now and no one really gives a shit.

But sure, it makes some sense the studio that made most of the games, even with some devs gone, is making the next one too, even after the Suicide Squad dud. Getting back to what worked etc...

Batman didn't work with a new studio either given Gotham Knights anyway.

People like making a big deal of devs leaving a studio but that happens constantly, it was also said when Retro Studios leads moved on to form Armature (which hasn't done any equally great original work yet, Recore being the closest they ever got) but Metroid Prime 3 still turned out ace even if it's not people's most favorite in the trilogy, as did the Prime Remaster and their Donkey Kong games too, so hopes are actually high for Metroid Prime 4 as well now that they're back to working on that instead of a different studio doing it. Maybe Rocksteady can bounce back too.

I think they had no choice in regards to certain aspects of Suicide Squad, aka the DEI stuff. Suicide Squad wasnt really a bad idea, no one had issues with it, its just they way they decided to portray those ideas and Im pretty sure its WB at fault here which is why one of the founders probably left. You dont leave your baby unless that baby is controlled by someone else and you cant do shit about it, in this case WB.

Rocksteady has been conquered , too late for them. But its all good anyway...they did a great job with 3 batman games. Created a unique batman universe. It started going downhill when batman started to become attached to a greater dc lore ( batmans best when hes in his own universe and not attached to alien super magic people).

I think its time for a new take on Batman, big open world detective atmosphere, actual civilians walking around the city, solving mysteries and beating up thugs.
