...production is going "amazingly well" and that the studio will have more details to share soon.

"But what's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie. It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."

With how things are nowadays, I can only keep on guard. Specially with this "new Bond" term.

I will reserve my judgement when I see a concrete thing.

The game might turn out good, but the idea of a "young Bond" is dumb, because the personal traits of the character involve a high level of expertise in a lot of stuff that comes with age. The same reason why a young Indiana Jones or Nathan Drake is a bad idea.

Err... I just hope this not a red flag.

Well...

I really do worry about how they'll depict Bond.

I hope he embodies the qualities he has in the films and novels, and IO don't take it upon themselves to rewrite what his character is under the assumption they have any sense of moral authority to do so.

Younger inexperienced Bond is part of what made Casino Royale a fun movie. If their first game can tap into it, it can lead to a fun experience.

Meh,

47 > Bond

Always, all the time, anytime

I get the commercial appeal of the IP but IO, I hope you will return to 47 when this little sideadventure is over.

And bring back Jesper fucking Kyd already!

This will be interesting. I wonder who is voicing Bond and doing the motion capture? Also will he look like the actor? Probably not. Motion capture tech is so good nowdays so it will be judged like live-action Bond performances.

I haven't seen any Daniel Craig Bond but that was the most memorable quote i picked up.
I have seen them all but i only like Casino Royale. Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green make it great too.

Anyway IO is talented, hope they deliver a good game. Maybe i should do a marathon of 007 games someday, i didn't played many.

Craig didn't look young and he seemed to have a lot of experience.
?

Bond was sloppy, didn't know certain techniques yet, was too trusting, didn't care about martinis yet, had trouble in his poker game, and barely used any gadgets, amongst other things.

Daniel Craig looking old doesn't have a large bearing on how they wrote that movie's Bond, which was purposefully younger and less experienced. Also less experienced doesn't mean zero experience.

You even see the progression and growth of his character in his subsequent movies.

This line sucked.

Why was Bond being a dick to the bartender? To appease the seal audience?
He lost all the money and just had an argument with Vesper, of course he is irritated. He almost made a desperate move after that line.
At the same time is a reference to the series famous "Shaken, not stirred" line and accentuate that this Bond is more hothead.

Anybody ever play this one?
Is it worth the trouble?
It's not BC, so I'd have to get a 360 copy from somewhere. And prices seem to be going up pretty quickly.

But then they won't be able to give him various pronouns..
I mean, they are an indie, so hopefully not fallen to those initiatives, which are often pushed by major publishers due to ESG grants. Being independent, a failure of the scale those games typically suffer in 2024 would likely also kill them off as a studio, not sure they could afford such a failure.

I think James Bond is an IP with a great fit for videogames. And particularly for these talented guys, who made the Hitman games. I'm looking forward to this game.

Still don't like it. Bond is cool personified. Here he is is b**** personified. I feel like it was against character and too on the nose for the audience.

I have a lot of trust in IO.

Dont think I've ever played a bad game from them (yes, even the original Kane & Lynch, and I loved Absolution lol)

They will deliver. They can use a lot from Hitman's template. Just need to make it a little more "cinematic" and story driven.

It's 'against character' because he had to mature into the Bond you're speaking of, after the events in Casino Royale.
Still awful.

Bond is a mythical (masculine) figure. His faults should fall within that framework. Him acting like a b**** to the common man (aka the audience) is too out of character.

They should have axed that stupid scene from the otherwise great movie.

Also, would have been more palatable if Craig was 18 rather than 35 years old at that point.
