Modders did that already, I linked a mod that fixes the controls, finishes unfinished content and way more. I doubt they're going to do much better than this

the OpenLara (an open source classic TR engine) creator was contracted to participate in the first Trilogy remaster, it would be not a surprise if the modders of AoD were contracted to do the remastered version too.

That an interesing video. Didn't know about those differences

Curious differences in Japanese version:

All in all, it seems like PAL version was the best one to a small margin, considering the 50/60Hz differences.

TRIV-V will get the I-III trilogy treatment and that's really great, but TRVI remaster gets my most attention as they need to take some extra effort to polish it up.

I read that as:

"We love money. We put this warning sign just to please our DEI overlords."
What was actually offensive though or a racial or ethnic prejudices though? Or is it just the fact that natives in some locations existed and setup traps and would use poison dart blowguns?
Other than that what was offensive? South American tribes really did use those to hunt, taken poison from the poison dart frogs (hence their name).

I really think these people hate that Europeans left Europe to explore the world at that time and anything depicting the colonies, or adventuring in the jungle, etc.. they don't like. Not because they are part of those ethnic groups but because they are privileged/rich asshole x studies graduates, clutching pearls and wasting space, causing all sorts of trouble, with an objective to kill fun and anything most men (and some women ) like in entertainment.

So yeah maybe you are right about the dei, but i am sure some of them actually believe the bs, like 90% of ree and reddit.

I remember those big graphic setting in AOD

Wow this brings back memories.
I played it on pc. I ran fine from my memories. I had a geforce 3ti or FX5700 (5 series card, they sucked for DX9 half-life but were great for OpenGL if I remember right).

Oh Look ray traced reflections 20 years ago !!!! /s
(I am guessing that means real time)

Pixel shader 2, this had to be geforce fx time period as 6800 series didn't come out until after Half-life2, near the Tes 4 Oblivion launch. Ati had thier 9800 card. I remember being miffed that my new FX card couldn't do shader model 2,

Tomb Raider AOD was one of the games I bought and played at that time as well as splinter cell, kotor, morrowind, neverwinter nights, etc...

I remember being super impressed with the night club and the lighting. Then I remember not being able to get anywhere and horrible controls.
I scrapped it.

So the game is doing quite well on preorders on PSN. Like...top 5 good.

Reminder that the first remaster exceeded expectations for the publisher earlier this year.

Them continuing the original Lara Croft character and timeline would make a ton of money yet they refuse to do it.

This was quite a surprise and I'm glad, I really liked TR4 and always thought it's underappreciated.

But I feel this time they may have taken charge of a too greater task with the Angel of Darkness. This game was a disaster and by the footage in the trailer it isn't looking any different from the OG.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
About remaster real devs, but that was long time known

Aspyr was part of Saber Interactive when Embracer bought them and Embracer sold Saber Interactive in March this year and kept Aspyr.

And while Saber Interactive was involved with the first Remastered Trilogy, it's still Aspyr that developed it and is developing Soul Reaver & this new Trilogy, not Saber Interactive.

She's cute(especially for a 37 year old) but she needs to do some research.

Everyone knows Crystal Dynamics had zero involvement.
And I wouldn't be too surprised if Embracer keeps the TR IP and fucks off Crystal Dynamics if they don't deliver a proper TR game.

Is this getting a physical release?
Well, probably it will get somewhere down the road a physical release, like how TR I-III Remastered did.

But, what bothers me, is that the physical release of TR I-III is out now after 9 months or so and still didn't get patched from the previous update where they messed up some things, and that was back in June, also the sound is still fucked up, how in the hell.
Honestly, these kinds of things are starting to bore me and possibly make me not buy the IV-VI Remastered and just play the old versions if I really want to.

Possibly, though their hands will be relatively clean if its still a mess. They can fall back on the polishing a turd line.

Yeah, sure, but not to sound like a spiteful whiny bitch, if it turns out the same or other bugs, someone must be held responsible.

The 5 games in the classic engine are very different from the old ones, so if they can't do the same with AOD, maybe they should have left it alone, some better textures on the paintings on the wall doesn't do for me very much.
Maybe if they somehow can integrate the modern controls from the classic remasters, that would be something, as the controls in AOD were nightmare inducing.

I've still got the physical PC version that I tried to play about 15 years ago. I remember having to install a patch. I played the PAL version. I never finished it cant really remember why. I am looking forward to playing a complete version of this game.

I had a look at TR AOD achievements, and some of them got my attention:

TR6 | Two of Every Kind
Find a pair both for Vector R35 and for Scorpion X guns

TR6 | Corner Frag
Defeat an enemy by shooting around the corner

TR6 | Nehushtan

Buy an antidote from the herbalist

TR6 | Pawn Promotion
Buy all the gun accessories at a pawn shop

So yes, if you know, it looks like they're doing more than just a graphic touch-up for TRAOD. I'm really happy.

Having never played AOD I couldn't give a toss how it turns out, I'm just delighted that 4 and 5 are being preserved to complete the 32-bit pentalogy.

Never played AOD so I do not know the context or significance.

It really seems they are restoring cut content. Lara doesn't hold dual pistols in original AOD, shooting around the corner wasn't possible and you couldn't buy anything from the herbalist or the pawn shop. And I'm sure there's even more beyond those achievements - there's one key story content at the very beginning of the game that they could restore (won't spoil anything).
