The Witcher 3 veterans are looking to fire back at The Witcher 4 and start a serious fight, huh?

I’ve been following these guys for a while now, and I think they deserve some attention. They’re going all in, even diving deeper into medieval aesthetics.

reading that rebel wolves is ex CDProjekt devs peaked my interest. i assume a lot of them worked on Witcher 3? the twitch stream looks a lot like the witcher 3 landscape.

Oh shit!!! This is the game people should be excited about. A bunch of former CD Projekt devs. I didn't know the name of the game wasn't actually Dawnwalker. Super pumped for this though. Gotta mark down Jan 13th.

Witcher 3 and CP2077. I've been waiting for new info on this. It's the devs that left CDPR and essentially took RED engine with them or were the ones talented enough to maintain and use it....which is why current CDPR is using Unreal now. Can't wait to see what Dawnwalker is all about.

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz who was Game Director on Witcher 3 and left CDPR after some idiots claimed he was "difficult to work with" or whatever is leading this title. His brother Matheusz, who was lead quest designer on Witcher 3 and then did a short stint at Riot also came back from US to Poland to rejoin his brother. Jakub Szamalek, one of the lead writers of Witcher 3 also works on this as narrative director.

To say I have high hopes would be an understatement.

Witcher 4 is being directed by CD Project's Animation Director. All the people who were in charge of The Witcher 3 left the studio and most ended up at Rebel Wolves.

Sebastian Kalemba ( Witcher 4 director):

that almost sounds like it has the potential to rival witcher 4 or be even better.

witcher 4 will most likely win in the graphics department but i expect dawnwalker to win in writing and rpg mechanics
true, i expect this game to look like a polished/enhanced Witcher 3, judging from the twitch stream.
Witcher 4 does look insane with the RTX 5000 gpu

Man…. Yeah. If they could pull it off…

I really want this to become a thing like in sports where you follow the individual talents or cohesive units in dev teams and follow where they go or congregate to. (And I mean outside of just the high profile Kojima's of the industry)

A studio is a fucking name. The talent either stays or moves on, and you got to ask why they moved on. These are the individual people and cohesive teams that made the games in the past you loved. Not the studio as a concept. A studio no matter what bangers they put out in the past could have a team of rookies now that ain't shit to the team that came before. Those rookies or some rando design lead could fuck up a previously loved IP, we seen it so many times recently.

Definitely need to see more about this game but... from the talent alone, hopeful side of the scales from me and I am a skeptical turncoat if shit isn't looking good. My hype only goes as far as what are you developing now. But with this roster, I am leaning towards hopeful.

nahhhh lets slow down with that hyperbole

Holy shit you guys love running with this shit, its like 5 or 6 people left to do a new company and magically its now all of or the majority of the "best" people from CDPR and will um "rival Witcher 4".

All of the industry, has been all over the place, most of gaming is contracted, it means folks that worked at EA, worked at Sony, worked at Rockstar, worked at CDPR, worked at Take Two and twice on Sunday. We have to see how this game really turns out on its own merit, but better then this or that or rivaling this or that.,...nahhhhh we need a fuck ton more to really go down that path.

Like shit, lets weight until 1 successful release lol

well the creative director is lgbtq

https://x.com/mtomaszkiewicz

and he said that we should give dustborn a chance , remains to be seen if this game is filled with this crap or not

lol yessssssssssssss! Folks like this literally put their foot in their mouths.

Basically they can't play this game based on their own logic.

Watch, suddenly this no longer looks "promising" lol

If anyone is playing games based on twitter, or how a company hires or anything weird like this, you'd think they'd wait a long enough time and dig around that company before making such wild ass statements. Like the original people who made the Witcher....oh you mean the very fucking people that even created that team and molded them and worked with the people you now hate?

For all you know, those views are like that at CDPR as openly because of the very founders being open about that in the first place

people in media ( not just game devs ) have a personal life , i dont know what they do in their personal life and i dont wanna know

for example lord of the ring fellowship of the ring is my fav movie of all time and just recently i found out that actor playing gandalf is gay but it still remains my fav movie because its his personal life

As long as you dont scream "look at me im lgbtq , im special" or you dont make me do 10 push ups because i used the wrong pronoun then i dont care , keep your personal life our of the media that you make for the masses

I don't have an issue with that, but that will always be a hard thing for most. Who someone is, will always be a part of their craft, art etc.

I'm a fan of anyone's artistic work if I like it regardless of what is happening with their personal life. No one can really control this

Where did you see the Witcher 4 gameplay footage?

All they've shown thus far is a cgi trailer; the recent Ciri reveal.
i did not say gameplay for W4 i was reffering to The Blood of Dawnwaker.
pre-rendered trailer in UE5 on a "anannounced NVIDIa Geforce RTX GPU"
0:03

so it is pre-rendered but it is in engine.

The twitch stream for The Blood of Dawnwaker does have live game footage of the gameworld.

Phantom Liberty and The Witcher 4 trailer showed CD Projekt didn't have any ounce of Cyberpunk and The Witcher talent, hope it release near before TW4 and humiliate these Sweet Baby slaves

In case you don't know EDMIX, he is a leftist, scared to admit he enjoys LGBBQ stuff, who always plays the "I am not woke but..." card.

Today is the day! Plus, they dropped a 1-hour video showing off the game’s environment transitioning between day and night with the soundtrack playing. The vibe of the soundtrack feels just like The Witcher 3. Could it be the same composer?
