I see. Of course it makes more difficult but I will give you a tip. If you have to sneak in an area like that, steal dark clothes in those trunks and closets around the rooms, and make your visibility meter as low as possible. If you do this you are able to walk very close by enemies without being seeing, and dont forget as well to level up in the character menu your stealth skills so it makes things easier.

The game gives you tools, even if it doesn't tell you right away.

The game is quite frustrating at some moments but you can't help but be in awe at the craftmanship on display here. It's been a long while where I played such a rich, layered experience. There's so much going on at all times.

Also - can't remember the last time I played a game with this much respect for the day-night cycle and NPC behavior. It's so refreshing to see people going about their business. You're not the center of the universe, you're just a nobody coming through.

The amount of side quests to reach that point makes it even more awesome.

I've gotten to the point where I'm loving it so much I might even get the Plat, completed every quest and started the wedding last night before I had to force myself to sleep for my stupid IRL job lol

Love the Game but that "get capone out of jail" quest in the castle can get fucked. How the fuck are you supposed to get that right? I got frustrated and watched a YouTube video.

I have no problem with try and error stuff. But with that safe system it's just not working

I needed help on finding the ingredients for that quest. In the end found a lockpick. But yeah at first you are running and sneaking around the castle confused on what to do. But I like that the game doesn't tell you exactly what to do. No hand holding.

Alright, think I have every sidequest/task covered, time to finally advance the main story. Couldn't believe the conclusion of one task and a certain character that was involved lmao.

On perk side of things the one that increases sprint speed by 20% is god-tier, any perk that augments your sprint should be a priority in fact, just makes navigating the world that much quicker/smoother.

There is "conspicuousness" stat in the player menu under your character. This is influenced by colors you wear and is what helps determine how visible you are during stealth.

Really....this is just a 'me' thing. I dislike controllers for first person games. I knew that before I bought the game on PS5, but this looked like a fun game for trophies so I went with PS5 over PC. That's my mistake.

Lockpicking is indeed hard at early levels. You are intended to only be able to lockpick "very easy" locks and even for that to be a struggle. I like it, since getting better is actually rewarding.
It is nice to have lot of lockpicks from all the bird nests I keep knocking down with rocks. In fact, knocking them down is strangely satisfying

A new day, some new glaze/thoughts:

-This game has NO STUTTER on PC. It shouldn't be noteworthy, but that's the state of PC gaming. Oh how I missed not hitching every time I enter a new area.

-The Trosky castle sequences in this game are a microcosm/litmus test for whether you think this game was designed by morons or an instant classic. I'm of the latter opinion.

-When NPCs block your path, if you continue pushing into them, you'll clip through them so you can pass. Not perfect in that it's an illusion-breaker, but it's better than getting stuck like you would in the first game. Also, I like that NPCs don't shut doors in your face anymore lol

-I'm 30 hours in and only just now realized you don't have to hold down the sprint button (L Shift) on foot to continue running. Although me having a sore pinky like Henry's legs would be sore adds to the immersion

It shows how bad Bethesdas Games are in comparison. Beth uses still the same shitty Engine, still a meaningless Word full of boring Quests that feel like fetch quests.

That is exactly the Experience and the feeling of exploring a deep living World with meaningful Quests and NPC what I hoped would be in Starfield before it came out (and I still hope will be in the next Fallout and Elder Scrolls).
I really hope Beth looks at this Game and learns from it.

I told people this game is "like Skyrim without magic", but that didn't feel 100% right. What you said is what I was missing; KCD2 gives shape to the things that Bethesda games feign.

I want to recommend a list of Nexus quality of life and immersion Mods, that I've been using, to improve the game experience.:

Henry's Complexions: As the Name implies. I chose to make both Henry and Hans look younger, instead of the default 30yo+ face captures, as it fits their age group.

No Depth of Field in Conversations and Cutscenes: For those of us, who hate blurred back grounds, when talking to NPCs.

Thinner Health and Stamina HUD: Does as mentions, including reduces reticle size, and offers other options.

Faster Bow Charge Duration - PTF: For those of us who want to make Archery a viable combat role. 2x speed is best and least immersion breaking.

Stay Clean for Longer - PTF: Increases time for Henry to accumulate dirtiness. No more dirty Henry, after 5 minutes of running around.

Easy Smithing: Varies options to reduce the time spent on creating weapons.

1st person Herb Picking II: Stay immersed in FP, when picking plants.

More Gather Radius and XP: Various options to reduce time spent picking up multiple plants and herbs, with XP adjustable to compensate.

Fast Launch (Skip Startup Intro Videos): Does exactly as titled. A godsend, for sure.

I thought about DL this, but I don't think it's developed enough, to compensate for controllers.
It would need to remodel the movement system. Still, a great idea.

The feel of progression is so well done in this game. You can feel every little improvements you get from improving your skills even just by 1 point or picking up a new perk. Lockpicking was hard af at first, but after i practiced it on a practice lock and leveled up by 2 points it was so much easier

Regretting getting this on PS5. Really think this game is meant to be played on PC. Just not a good experience with a controller, imo.

It is better with M&K I have to admit. Played a fair bit of it with a dualsense though, its not horrendous by any means

It is really any first person game with any controller for me. I haven't tried it in a while and so this was just a reminder how much I prefer kb&m for first person games.

I am completely in love with this game. I'm 32 hours and and I just now decided to go after Mutt. I haven't even been to that wedding yet. Just messing around and getting immersed in the world, trying to get gud at combat, doing side content and acquiring perks. No game post Steam Deck has grabbed me like this to where I went out of my way install it on my Steam Deck, manually install QOL small mods like the unlimited save mod and take it where ever I go so I can break it out whenever I get even a spare minute to play.

Speaking of the Steam Deck, this game runs like a fucking dream. Even on my 4090 PC, except for a little pop in, there are no issues like studdering or crashing. THIS is how you optimize a game devs!!

For the Savior Schnapps lovers out there, I get it and I know why it's a feature. But while I love the game, there's enough jank included for the game to have what I call an unfair advantage. The unlimited save mod counters this for me. I lost a couple hours due to the game spazzing out.

Also, I am still unable to to sell horses to the Nomad camp for some reason. I simply don't get the option. I even parked the horse underneath the red tent where it supposedly activates the prompt. So I think that feature is broken for me this playthrough I guess

That means someone has seen you doing it or wearing what you stole . Sometimes they just do a routine check up. I have noticed that if you dress like a homeless they stop you more often too which makes sense.

All stolen items have a red icon in the inventory so be careful with that

This spot is right around where you start the game in earnest, and has a ton of Belladonna and Nettle (needed for SS). They also seem to respawn after a day or two. Red X marks the spot.

Game sadly has a bug in 120 Hz VRR mode where there is stuttering. I have noticed while playing. Apparantly not a problem if you disable VRR and play with 60 Hz.

I've been avoiding the main quest and just focusing on side quests and activities on the first map until there isn't anything else left to do other than progress the main quest. It's taken 27 hours to do so. I know full well they'll be shit loads more to do once the main story progresses. Game is a 10/10 so far.

For stealth/hunting you actually want to check every item for following three stats to be as low as possible: Conspicousness, Noise, Visibilty. I am currently at 12/17/20. If anyone has a setup with lower figures...let me know what combo you use.

26 hours in and still haven't been at the wedding lol. In fact I just met the miller, something I should have probably done sooner, because of the training in thievery.

Having a lot of fun. Might have said this already but so far it's just as enjoyable as the first one, but a bit better thanks to all the extra polish. Game seems to have way more content as well, or at least it feels like there's less empty space and more interesting stuff to find.

This game is a little different from others in that it f.ex. considers whether someone has seen you lurking around the premises recently. Consequently, it takes more context into account and makes greater use of circumstantial evidence than you being caught in the act of stealing. I for one love this.

If it's night it's normal to get called out by guards, specially depending in your reputation and if you might get caught without a torch.

No it's an early one. Lots people just choosing to explore and do side stuff. Which is good because once you hit the wedding quest there's lots happening during and after that with the main story.

I found a power leveling exploit. Get a quest to find Canker, you can get this at the wedding (maybe before, maybe after),if you finished the blacksmith cart quest. Get the quest from the ex bandit leader, to find a cankers camp in a forest between trokowist and a southern mill by extracting information from a bandit ambush.

Now two bandit ambuses will spawn at the south and north ends of the forest, and the will spawn immediately/endlessly after leaving, so you can fast travel between the town and the mill to trigger the ambuses.

Eventually the A.I will break and not even attack (at least on my file) so you can use whatever you want to level, can even practice pick pocketing. Good loot can also spawn on them though rare.

You may gave to walk into the ambush a preemptively attack the bandits first, that's how i may gave broke the quest.
