AMD RDNA 4 and RX 9000 Series Reveal Event |OT| February 28th | 5am PST/8am EST (9070 XT $599 USD / 9070 $549 USD - Availability Starting Mar 6)

Now the waiting begins. Gonna see how nvidia will react to this, but i dont think they care. If the XT will be on stock at close to that price its a big deal

Nvidia -$150. You did it AMD!

With a $550 12GB 4070 Super, likely. They want to force gamers onto planned obsolescence 12GB cards. Guessing 5070 will have decent availability.

Good price AMD

9070 XT it is then. I have been happy with my Radeon 5700 XT for the last 6 years and now it's time to upgrade to the 9070XT where AMD has finally given us a good card that can compete at a good price. I only paid $450 for my 5700XT and back then it was competing with a 2070 and it has served me well. Giving me a card at $599 that can compete in the 4070-4080-5070 range, with better upscaling and ray tracing technology, is a bargain at $599.99.

They've done what they need to in terms of pricing.

Now the question is whether or not the real world performance matches up to their claims and whether or not the software/drivers are in a good enough place for people to be convinced.

BTW, AMD is currently offering Monster Hunter Wilds with Radeon 7000 and Ryzen 9000 CPUs.
If that deal is also available for the 9070 series, it would make it even better value. A 70$ game for "free" is always a nice extra on a new GPU.

Well this one all depends on where and if you can find "599" models and whether or not the mentioned "340 watt" models are priced competitively as well. I have a feeling the 340W model will be considered the "real" 9070 XT price in a few months and I could see them being anywhere from 100 to 250 dollars more if you look at the Nvidia partner card situation.

If the MSRP holds in the real market, I might grab one to upgrade my secondary PC. It would be my first full AMD PC (5800x3D + one of these GPUs).

It the price actually holds, looks like either the XT or the regular one will be my upgrade from the RTX 3070. 16GB Vram now feels pretty much mandatory for 1440p gaming.

I've had a 5800x3D + 7900XT in my build for nearly 2 years now. For anyone else thinking of switching, the driver experience has been flawless and you only need 2 8 pin connectors that come with the added bonus of not melting.

I'm so relieved that AMD didn't AMD-up this one.

I'd like to see some reviews etc but so far the sentiment seems like the exact opposite of the 7000 series launch. I hope they make enough to satisfy demand and see AMD gain some actual market share.

Tim from HU says they have spoken with several retailers and said that there is more stock of RDNA4 than of RTX 5000 GPUs.
So here is hoping the MSRP is close to the real world price.

The real question is which brand will manage to hit their MSRPs first.
And availability of said MSRPs.

Last time I checked out of 14 5070 Ti models on Best Buy the average price was $928. Guessing Nvidia is going to dump a shitload of 4070 Super 12GB 5070 12GB onto the market.

Need to wait on a real 4k Video, not the stream, for that Ray tracing Performance.
It looked like it had a lot of shimmering and ghosting, which would be a shame.
Also, Gen-AI like Stable-Diffusion, FLUX etc. have been absent too.

Price seems pretty good but as others said, it feels like the OC 320W Model will be the real 5070ti contender but will also cost most likely very close to it.

I have been holding on to my 5800X3D to upgrade my PC with a graphics card from this gen. I was waiting to see how AMD was going to compete with the midrange 5000 series and they have blown me out of the water. I will be blown away going from a 3700X to a 5800X3D and from a 5700 XT to a 9070 XT.

AMD has a strange advantage. Much lower demand than nvidia. The market share for GPUs is 90% for nvidia and only 10% for AMD.
So with greater stock of GPUs in stores and fewer people wanting to buy them, it's more likely to hit the MRSP.

If FSR 4 is competitive with DLSS 4, looks like the 9070XT will be a pretty good deal. Not sure if it's enough of an upgrade over my 3080 to justify moving over, but if I was building a new system from scratch, it's probably the way I would go.

Looking forward to the reviews.

Come on AMD, help me. I'm not a rich person.

Just follow this formula, it's simple but effective,
I'm a man /woman of "insert your savings in US$".
Don't be stingy, spend on what you like and see where you stand at this.

Man, AMD has an absolute home run here if their performance claims are true and they can actually produce a good amount of these.

This could be an industry disrupting generation in GPUs. First time I've been able to say that in over a decade.

Surprisingly good pricing, there's actually people with working brains working at AMD. Good to know. Let's see if they manage to withstand the onslaught of "muh DLSS4", availability and scalping. Crossing my fingers Intel will soon give them some more competition, too.

Still have not found a 5090 or a 5080 at a MSRP so I'm sitting on money. Money sitting there waiting for something to both wow me and be available to buy.

How we feeling about the prices, folks?
They nailed it with the 9070 XT pricing.

Was hoping they would sandwich the $550 5070 with $500 9070 and $600 9070 XT, but it's understandable they probably needed the extra margin on the 9070 to help hit the $600 price point with the 9070 XT.

Waiting for reviews to see how FSR4 performs. Hopefully its pretty close to DLSS4. 9070XT will be really tempting then.

Good thing Blackwell is a dud because all this stuff has been done by NVIDIA over 2 years ago lol.
Key will pricing by AIBs. If we start really seeing mostly $800+ boards, then yeah, forget about Market share.

Personally I will see if I can pick up this card for up to $700. Above that might as well wait for 5080 availability.

Edit: AND should absolutely troll Nvidia by offering ROP warranty. 😉

Good pricing for the XT, but the 9070 is a bit in no-mans land against the 5070. It looks like AMD have gone all-in to take on the 5070TI

Also I hope, its not an RDNA 2 situation where MSRP was a fictional unicorn reference card and that while marketing said it was not a paper launch it was the thinnest paper launch of all time where even during COVID time everything flew off the shelves they never made a dent.

I'm coming from a 3070 as well and I'm very tempted to get this over a 5070ti. As you say, if the pricing and performance are as they say it is.
