Better ask who have AMD cards and use it. I don't have AMD card for now
5080 is probably the worst gpu ever.

RIP RTX 5070Ti

Now lets see if consumers are actually clever and the 9070XT sells well, because this is exactly what we have been asking for.
Actual competition.

By all accounts the 9070XT should be the better buy especially when looking at actual prices of cards on the market.....a better buy by a long shot actually.

Now it comes down to launch. Pull an Nvidia paper launch and none of this matters. Make it actually available for purchase and this might be huge for AMD.

5080 is probably the worst gpu ever.
Its extremly badly priced, ad mark ups and current streetprice and its such a bad value proposition, its half of vram and literally half of cuda cores of 5090 same way 4070 was half of 4090, if it was priced like 4070 uprade, so at max 800 usd streetprice(not msrp which can be whatever) then ppl would not complain at all.

Withe the PS5 Pro. It's called PSSR.
I'm mean sure, PSSR uses some aspects of rdna 4 but ps5/ Xbox sx units are about to explode with gta6 around the corner. To hold these consoles to rdna 3.1 is a terrible idea.

To ignore that market and it's potential in sales would just be terrible planning.

true, how could have anyone expected a game designed around the consoles to actually run on those consoles ....

w8, sounds like it should work out in the end?!
blasphemy

I'm looking forward to the 1440p benchmarks. If this is priced around £600 then I'll almost definitely impulse buy it just to give Nvidia a big 'fuck you!'

There is some confusion there. PSSR is just the software. Tensor Cores are the hardware.
AMD made the hardware. But PSSR/FSR4 was made in collaboration between AMD and Sony.
They probably developed and trained the model in collaboration, but then each adapted the result to the PC and the other to the Pro.

So, dumb this down for me.

What perfomance ballpark are we looking to compared to Nvidia and at what price?

Yay they did it.

I'll be back when the dx is $450. The $550 price is going to get chopped. The xt more likely to stick at 600 because it is the correct price to begin with, for once.

The 9070XT will outperform the 4080 in scenarios without RT. They've been bigging up RT but we'll have to wait for reviews.

The 4080 is still 4 figures from what I can see, so $400 less.

FSR 4 uses a proprietary model that takes the best of CNN and transformer, according to the company.

AMD tells us that FSR 4 utilizes FP8 capabilities of RDNA 4's 2nd gen AI accelerators, which means older Radeon cards won't be reaping the benefits, at least for now. While there could be a possibility of backporting FSR 4 or its subsets to older cards, it's best to overlook that for now.

Wait.... there will be AMD reference cards or not? Sold via retailers? Or none at all?

See my post above. I like what they are showing tech wise and it seems to be future proof with direct X consortium. It seems they are finally taking seriously the future of rendering pipelines. To be seen how it performs eventually with all neural rendering but at least they are not throwing this under the rug that its not important features.

Who?
Read the comments on youtube. Not all people are happy with the 9070 XT price. Some people hoped for $450-500 and "hardware unboxed" in their 9070 XT price reveal reaction video said that the price is not bad but still not good enough. Even here on neogaf people were expecting $479 for the standard 9070 because of leaks.

IMO $599 is an absolutely amazing price given the 5070ti-like performance that cost $900-1000 ($749 msrp for the 5070ti was just a lie, not a single card was available at that price)

It's expected to come to the 7900XT/XTX.

This looks great and I'm not even in a hurry to upgrade now so I can do it later this year wit prob even better prices... Any benchmark out already?

I think PSSR and FSR4 are separate entities. FSR4 is much newer and designed around RDNA4 hardware, PSSR started life in 2020/2021 when Cerny designed Pro hardware.

My prediction is that Sony will drop PSSR and use FSR4/5 on PS6 (FSR4 looks to have better quality than PSSR already).

I am okay with 9070xt pricing. I was hoping at $549, but that was hoping. I am little surprised at regular 9070 price at $549 though - thought it would be $499.
Perhaps they are really confident that 9070 can take on 5070 MSRP.

I'll be getting 9070XT that I'll be pairing for my living room PC (7800X3D). My OLED TV is old with no 120hz support... so I think regular 4k 60hz at max - I think this will be more than enough. Hope FSR4 is good.

I've never bought a AMD GPU at launch though - does Amazon sell them at launch? Does anyone know when these cards go on sale - like right after midnight, or 9am ET like Nvidia?

I'm shocked AMD is going to offer 4080 / 5070ti like performance (with OC maybe 5080) for just $599 and some people still say it's too expensive 😂😂.What people fail to realise is that the $749 MSRP for the 5070ti is a lie. RTX 5070ti models that are actually available cost much more (around $900-1000 msrp) and that makes the RX 9070 XT $300-400 cheaper. That's a huge price difference, IMO big enough to make Nvidia fans finally consider going with an AMD card.

Does AMD have ML powered downsampling, or just standard downsampling? There's a huge difference, because without the ML part only x4 downsampling is usable (anything less will cause ugly pixellation and moire artefacts due to uneven pixel scaling). DLDSR looks excellent in 1.79x / 2.25x modes thanks to ML, making it a much better alternative to the extremely intensive 4x. With 2.25x DLDSR and DLSS balance, I have similar performance to TAA native, while the image quality is on a completely different level. If I however use DSR 4x performance is so bad that even DLSS performance will offer drastically lower framerate than native resolution.

4 eyes.

16gb of VRAM is truly insane for the 5080.

I have a 3080 and was fully planning on upgrading to the 5080. But it makes more sense to go for 5070TI or 5090. However I'm just going to wait instead. 3080 is fucking goated and I can ride it out until nvidia course correct or AMD crank things up. I'd love to go AMD but DLSS, nvidia reflex hell even nvidia broadcast just means I can't justify an AMD card.

RTX 5070Ti/4080 for two thirds the price.

Effectively unless you really really need CUDA the 9070XT is much better value than the 5070Ti/4080.
This is assuming the 9070XT doesnt get scalped, but during the press conference they very specifically said theyve got well more than enough stock so scalpers will be out of luck.

From my experience, I have only found one that didn't work. Amid Evil.
If you have any particular game you want to know, and if I also have it, I can tell you if it works or not.
Not one game in particular. I'll buy a new PC this year to play in 4K and VR and for that DLSS is very important. If FSR 4 will work for almost all DLSS games with mods the 9700XT should be much better than 5070 for about the same price.

Mind you we have yet to see if we can inject FSR4 with Optiscaler, the way we do with FSR3.1
But if t's the same thing, then the chances of a game working will be high.
It also allows to inject AntiLag2 in place of Reflex. And AMD's frame generation instead of nvidia's.

I think this will be day one for me, pending some reviews.
Should be a good upgrade from my 3070ti.
Will feel good to say goodbye to NVIDIA.

I'm gonna try and snag one if PT performance is good and sell my 4080. I can't lie but Nvidia has really lost me with their behavior

Even if some older games will not support FSR4.0 it will be not a big problem because the 9070 XT should have the raw power to run them without FSR4.0 at 60fps.

???

That would be a sidegrade at best a downgrade at worst.

This isnt gonna be beating a 4080 especially since you wont be able to get alot of money for a second hand 4080.

Just keep the 4080 till the next generation of AMD chips.
