Mickey 17:What's it feel like to die? From director Bong Joon Ho.

This looks incredible! This looks like a mashup of the best elements of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Terry Gilliam and Charlie Kaufman movies. Really want to see this.

Wow, looks pretty good!

This looks great.
My only gripe is Mark Ruffalo can never pull off being eccentric or kooky, it just comes off like an acting class exercise.
Rest of the cast, top-notch.

Im definitely interested. Pattinson is way more talented than he gets credited for. I almost don't wanna believe this is the same guy that played Batman so convincingly but it is.

This was a huge miss for me. I loved Showpiercer, but my group ended up leaving about halfway through. Interesting premise but I'd describe it as very boring with weird performances.

We went and saw this this evening.

I think this is one of those films that probably feels like all the elements are there when writing and then when you're filming it everything feels good, but once you start editing it, it just doesn't hang together well. I have various thoughts on particular elements of the film, but I'll limit my main criticism to this: it's quite boring for quite a lot of the film.

Moon (mentioned above) this is not.

5/10 for me.

So odd, nearly all word of mouth has said this movie is mediocre to bad, but on RT it's mostly positive and that's with both audiences and reviewers. Maybe the studios are getting wise and also cheating/influencing the user review scores on RT.

Most comments on reddit rate this movie 8/10 so I think it's good but not at Bong Joon-Ho usual level, maybe this is his weakest one. I'm still gonna watch it when it releases in my country.

Yeah, I sneaked a look at the imdb rating before booking the tickets (I try to know nothing about a film if I'm going to the cinema) and find it hard to understand what other people saw in it.

That's probably a decent reason to give it the benefit of the doubt if you are interested in the Premise though. It might just be something that works for you.

Bong Jooon Ho is a Hollywood darling rn after Parasite. Critics and the Letterbox crowd are probably overhyping the movie (after Anora getting Best Picture, I dont trust critics at all)

I like him, but I'm kinda mad that much better directors (imo) aren't at least as big as him in the West, such as Park Chan-wook

I was severely disappointed by this, considering how much I loved Parasite.

The movie just did not connect with me on any level; the main character was annoying and dull, none of it was funny, it dragged on far too long and the social commentary was way too surface level and on the nose.

Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette seemed to be having fun, hamming it up, but none of it made me laugh. It was mostly just loud and over the top.

For an R rated movie I also found it to be very tame (could have easily been PG-13), and overall I thought this tried to do way too much at once.

I'd give it a 4 / 10.

I was hyped (Parasite encouraged me to check out Mother and his older work) but been put off by all the tepid reviews. I may just wait and watch this at home than in the theater.

it's not that good. i think Mark Ruffalo's character is a highlight, but it's a very campy performance which may not work for everyone.

i think calling it mediocre is fair. I really did expect more from a director of this caliber.

Just watched. Pretty good, but a bit long and very slow in the beginning. Felt like I watched the entire movie in the trailer.

Saw it last weekend. The movie was just okay. I personally felt it was a 6/10 and arguably 5/10. Preferred the first half of the movie when the premise was far more interesting. The 2nd half became hollywood tropes and preachy stuff. Also the 2nd half was a story that has been told time and time again. While the performances were pretty good overall. Just can't escape the obvious pandering tones in the movie(especially Ruffalo). As many others, I was more brought in by Bong Joon Ho and the trailer was actually pretty interesting.

That was quick, was going to watch this at the cinema in a week or so but the seven seas it is.
I know that the studios and distributors must have the numbers to work out what the timing should be, but it seems hard to believe they aren't leaving money on the table by going to digital so quickly.

I know there were laws against cinemas producing and distributing their own films, but I think that's been relaxed now. I'd love to see a cinema chain put out a blockbuster that did an old school distribution - exclusive to cinemas for 6 months, or even longer.

Yea its mad, they seem to jump to digital so quick now, I would go to the cinema more if they didnt go digital so quick, they seem to go on release week if its a succsess or not.
