That's not how it works. If you pander to a certain demographics, you would want your products sell to them. The problem with wokeness/DEI is that they pander to a demographics for almost zero return. How many "games for modern audience" succeeded? Adding a chooseable romance options is not dei, forcing a choice on player would be more apt but giving the player a freedom of choice is not what I would call dei pill here.

As I mentioned previously, I have no issue with Naoe because she is completely fictional and Ubi can create whatever the sexuality of her as they wanted to.
Yasuke on the other hand, is real historical figure, with no record indicating he could be gay in feudal Japan. Such creative choice is clearly pandering to certain groups. And speak of consequence, this did sparked a huge debate all over the place, right? Is this necessary a good thing for the game?
How exactly does a completely optional romance path even affect you if, as you say, it doesn't pander to you? Can you not just, you know, not do the gay romance?

I have nothing against folks enjoying the game, just calling out BS Ubi put on there. There would have been way less controversies had none of those "inclusive options" existed and circulated online, and it would have been a good thing for the game, you know it.
Why does it matter how historically accurate a game is or isn't?
Assassins Creed has always put historical figures in their games and then worked a story around them
And yet Ubisoft wont disclosure copies sold, It seens that engagement is more important to shareholders#1 selling Pro Enhanced game, #2 overall game on US PSN.

He has three romance options, two of them being part of the LGBTQ umbrella. The heteronormative option is literally the minority in Yasuke's campaign.
There is a character who uses They/Them pronouns, which not only is the trademark of woketardation, it is also 100% immersion breaking for a feudal Japan setting.

It's disingenuous omitting the fact that you have to have canon mode turned off to even access the optional romance stuff. 99% of people won't even run into that stuff. Just like with Odyssey and Valhalla.

Some people don't understand that 2million players/sales for a game that needs to hit 8-10 isn't exactly a home run.

The fact remains that when you play as Yasuke, your options in terms of romance are one heterosexual woman, one gay man and one non-binary they/them. The supposed sexual minorities are actually more in number than the supposed sexual majorities.
