As per the title, looking for games to kill downtime at work, i have every console and a steam deck so platform isn't an issue. I was just looking at my list of games and can't see anything that fits the criteria (no story or dialogue heavy) also no multiplayer since I'll need to pause it every now and then.


I was thinking of some good ole rpg/jrpg but the no dialogue/sound part puts me off lol.

Ive played Elden Ring (many different pause mods) and Horizon Forbidden West (muted) this way, but just about any Ubisoft game will also work great, many games are made worse if you engage with the story. Lot of my friends play diablo at work which is perfect. Hades is also amazing, but i wouldnt play it without sound.

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition. Get all the DLC and then anticipate Titan Quest 2's release TBA. You can pause and save whenever plus you can just grind your way while listening to something else.

edit-Borderlands 3 is best played on mute.

Sony games increase in quality when muted as the characters won't spoil puzzles and won't annoy you to move on lol.

I legit muted voices in Ragnarök and Horizon and turned subtitles off as well after a while... it was a relief.



@topic: Uh, Minecraft could work. maybe a 2D Metroidvania like Axiom Verge, Metroid Dread, PoP The Lost Crown etc.

Isometric ones require no sound either as most are subtitled text boxes anyway.
