Recommend me some games I can play on mute.

Racing games. Most have no story. Sometimes I just put on a podcast or something and mindlessly play through one of them.
Imo depends on what kind. In many racing games it's good to hear the engine revs or the sounds made by other cars. Plus a lot of them are way better with the built-in soundtracks.

Basically mute is the same as my go to audiobook games when needed
Tetris Effect /or any Tetris, that's just the best one yet
Racing games /Forza Motorsport
aRPG /Diablo 4
Vampire suvivors
Dead Cells
Sid Meier's Civilization VII /your favorite entry

Pokémon. On emulator you'll be speeding up most of the time anyway. Radical red is fantastic, and now there's emerald imperium.

Crystal project job class rpg with exploration. Music is fantastic but not necessary.

Ive played Elden Ring (many different pause mods) and Horizon Forbidden West (muted) this way, but just about any Ubisoft game will also work great, many games are made worse if you engage with the story. Lot of my friends play diablo at work which is perfect. Hades is also amazing, but i wouldnt play it without sound.
I kinda wish games would have a No Story option, auto skip all dialogue and cutscenes and let the user fucking play. In AC Shadows I got sore from smashing B so much. Look, I get it people worked hard on that, but after playing story driven games for decades I just don't give a shit anymore. Especially for games where I actually like some of the gameplay. In AC for example, I just wanted to keep killing everyone. In Mario I just want to platform, in Zelda I want to explore or do a dungeon.

The Crew Motorfest. With all the annoying Millenial / Gen Y babbling going on while you're driving it's the PREFERRED way to play. There's actually an arcade racing game underneath all that nonsense.

I've honestly been baffled for weeks why anyone thought it was a good idea to release a racing game where the engine noise is constantly drowned out by mindless chit chat.

Would you say its a better game than FH4 or FH5?

Forza Horizon 5, Crew, Need For Speed, Riders Republic = the 4 horsemen of cringe dialogue
Never muted voices faster than in these 4 before.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. This gif is Nintendo's Ice Hockey!

Exanima. I discovered this myself when the music annoyed me and I was too lazy to switch it off in the menu. Just smashed the "mute" button on the remote. (Not that there's anything wrong with the music, mind. I've just played a lot of Exanima.)

Because it's a top-down game, it's still very much playable even without sound. And it works terrifically well on a Steam Deck, to boot.
