Honeymoon period is gonna end soon for oblivion when people are gonna realize that it is the same game of 20 years ago with just better graphic.

Obviously which is my whole point. How did MS not step up here and help out their partner so that both games get the attention they deserve.
 
Extremely pumped about this. Glad to see the French video game industry living up to its potential, and also glad to see foreign studios saving the JRPG genre from Japanese neglect

Because that's not how a larger business runs its business, the game's release date and everything leading up to it were already planned far in advance, independent of other companies' software being released.

For a brand such as Elder Scrolls to potentially be delayed, the game would've had to be massive enough for Bethesda to fear its impact being large enough on their release.

It should be good enough to power through, but on the other hand I think this means they get damaged more by the Oblivion release. A 92 without Oblivion would have dominated coverage and word of mouth.

Game's cheap and looks fucking awesome, so I'm glad to see it's doing well.

AAA 70€ games with MTX and bugs up the ass can go eat a few dicks. This is how it has to be done.

On Amazon ES, it's the #1 best selling item across all video game categories (software, hardware, and accessories).

I really hope they printed enough copies to meet the demand, which seems to be quite high now due to the glowing reviews that have come in today.

I just beat a level 35+ monster at level 16 after having practiced all its parry patterns for over an hour. I had to play perfectly for 12 straight minutes in order to win - and when I say perfect, I really mean PERFECT. This was INSANE.

Edit: on hardest difficulty ofc

I preloaded this on game pass pc, but im gonna wait for PS5 pro impressions and if it looks and runs well there i might buy it. I rather play this on my big OLED TV and support the devs aswell.
 
Yeah this is one of the 2 games I am super hyped for this year.

This looks absolutely stellar. I have been keeping dark since the first trailer and I scroll by all the YT thumbnails. But by the looks of it, people are rating it extremely highly. And after being pretty disappointed with Metaphors writing and story (I mean its good if you are like 12 or have been living behind the moon or something), this seems like a breath of fresh air for the genre with a french spin and I am always for cool new European productions that have their complete own style and intepretation of these genres and worlds. It just feels fresh compared to all the very US and Japanese centric games (that are obviously still cool, but right now I am aching for something fresh)

Not to mention Oblivion has a ton of technical issues people are going to start noticing soon. It doesn't run well even on ps5 pro and the visuals are ugly a lot of the time

This isn't the Oblivion thread but they literally programmed a graphics engine in UE5 and ran it as an overlay over Oblivion which is still running and mostly the same underneath

It's the same approach used for Diablo II Resurrected and while it certainly works, it's arguably the kludgiest solution imaginable. For D2R, the source code for Diablo II is actually lost (there's a wild story behind this) but for Oblivion, they simply didn't want to try and go back to fix the 20-years old Gamebryo engine that runs it

13 and a half hours in on my first session and these are my very brief thoughts:

+ The story feels VERY similar to one of my favorite RPGs of all time; FFX
+ There are moments, especially early on, that felt extremely inspired by Chrono Trigger
+ Pictos ala FFIX gem system works amazing in FFIX and works just as amazing in this game
+ Running around in zones and suddenly encountering a boss that's 30+ levels above your level and getting one shot is giving me FFXII-vibes
+ World map looks, feels and plays wonderfully
+ Costumes and hairstyles are obtainable in-game
+ One of the best RPG combat systems of all time, on par with SMTV:V Press Turn Icon system (although if you're not fan of timing inputs, this might not be for you)
+ There is a town I reached that VERY MUCH resembles one of my favorite towns from FFIX (I'll let you guess which)
+ No quest log, no mini map, no radar. Reminds me of how PS1 RPG was during the golden era
+ More references, I think?! Booskaboo from Seiken Densetsu 3 is pretty much in this game
+ Story and dialogue has the perfect blend of humor and serious moments

- The cutscene engine is so unbelievably realistic and the jump from that to in-game is very jarring from time to time
- PS5 Pro on performance is very stable (60fps), however it shouldn't look this blurry
- No retry button in battles ala Metaphor

Loving your impressions. I might be up at 3am playing this lol. What is it about this games combat that makes it better than metaphor's( if that's what you're saying)
 
That's one ugly ass swim suit not to mention not much going on in regards to tits or ass. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Stellar Blade and Tifa in FF7 Rebirth.
 
SISTERS, any word on the PS5 Amateur performance? Been debating playing this off Game Pass on the Series Ass or paying for the PS5 version, I'm yet to see any definitive answer!
 
Just got my key! Downloading the game now

I really hope this game has a good atory and writing, I am sick of games having boring narratives lately
