What a shitty game, could they not idk maybe design good looking main characters?
Rarely have I seen so bad main character design, this is even worse than Edge of Eternity!
Boring "dungeons", I can't believe how bad this game is. Just the same old mediocre modern JRPG. I am so done with this Genre.
A new legendary copypasta is born?
 
Man I'm a bit after the prologue and the game is incredible. I love the way the store\world lore is being told. Not just a blunt expose at the beggining. Slowly it's being revealed through conversations where you have to put things together. The game has started off very strong for me. If this holds up man this game is going to be my GOTY. Also parrying has never felt so good in a JRPG combat system like this.
 
man, just finished the prologue, it looks promising

i may be to high right now but Gustave looks a lot more like Robert Pattinson than Charlie Cox to me.
I've been saying this since the reveal, It should be the same for every dude with working eyes :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

There is no way to rebind the controller buttons in-game. Bruh.

EDIT: The game has fucked up deadzones with a Switch controller by default. It has the same problem as Cold Steel 2 where the character stops sprinting when you move diagonally.

EDIT2: The game messes up my international US keyboard layout, I cannot write quotes or other modifying keys while the game is open.

You can really see this game is kind of "homemade", lol.

Played through after the harbor scene. This game is gonna wreck me, thinking of dropping out of the work i have to do for the next 2 days just to play into the weekend.
 
I looked at some gameplay and I wish there was an option to have a centered camera during exploration, I really don't like it when the character is so far on the left of the screen, it just feels off when playing. I know it's a very personnal feedback, it's just a preference I have in general.
This bothered me in Hogwarts Legacy too, but thankfully someone made a mod to change that, hopefully there will be one here too.
 
Satisfied with performance mode on the pro (only 30 minutes in). It has that soft look to it I chalk it up to artistic intent. Reminds me of Plague Tale.
 
honestly not much of a looker on pc either, even at epic settings. there is a weird over sharpening kind of effect.
but i cant compare to console, probably better than that
Yea the hair isn't great on pc eiva I think TSR smooths it out a bit. Overall it isn't to bad a looking game so far though the gamma or brightness is a bit much. Only just got to the first area after the start.

Probably should of tried the series x version more but just going to carry on with the PC version. 7800xt is running it ok.

Game has me addicted already though so not bothered if it doesn't look amazing.

just started and having a hard time with the parry/dodge timing but I've only dueled maelle a few times before i had to go to work. Maybe I suck and need to get good (not a souls player, so parrying is kinda new to me).

You will get the hang of it don't worry. I lived on parry mechanics my whole life and I'm not a souls players

Try to learn the patterns and you'll be golden mate
 
5080 / 7800X3D / 2K

It runs between 80-110 FPS on the Epic preset with DLSS Quality in the starting area. Going to the High preset nets you a 20%-30% increase in performance (always talking about the starting area).
 
My copy just arrived, super excited to install and play after work!

Absofuckinglutely. Its mental how the soundtrack speaks to whatever is happening in the scene

Music used properly can really improve a game and make it memorable. So many scenes would not hit as hard without their corresponding soundtrack. Seeing so many people say this, but your comment in particular is getting my hyped.
 
I'm blown away how awesome this is. I don't get why Square-Enix hasn't done something like this exact style of battle system. This battle system puts their recent attempts to shame. Let this developer make the next Final Fantasy FFS.
 
Playing this you will realize how *actually* overrated many other games are when looking at their meta scores, real talk, I can already tell this is an instant classic and will earn a spot amongst JRPG royalty, it's just that good.

Disagree here. The remake\rebirth battle system was fun as hell. I want both to stay around.
 
Game looks amazing. I'm also loving the art design and music is incredible. These review scores are well deserved.

However, the game definitely has some issues with ultrawide. For example, the cut scenes (locked at 30fps ugh) are letterboxed

Some sections are pillar boxed, which looks really weird

The story cutscenes are letterboxed AND pillar boxed, meaning on my monitor it's just this weird square in the middle of the screen.

In addition to that, when the characters are zoomed in during dialog, it centers on their body instead of their face, so faces usually get cut off. My wife asked why I kept zooming in on all the female character's boobs.

I haven't seen this issue so far on the pro though.

You might want to tell the devs. They put out a form for bug reports, seems like they are eager to listen and fix stuff asap.

 
I hear the main story can be beaten in 20-25 hours? Obviously side content can add another dozen or more.

Works out great. Def do not want a 80 hour slog fest. What with Oblivion on my plate as well!

My first negatives are two: Running is shite because why are you stopping because of a small rock on the ground?

Jumping is not at too and can be very frustrating while platforming
