HAVOC | Official Teaser | Directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid)

All the Netflix action movies have been quite forgettable slop. So I have quite low expectations, but I'll check this one out because of Gareth.

Banger alert

Watched it today.

Not sure what was worse, the awful CGI (especially during the opening chase) or the wooden acting

Overall, I thought it was pretty bad

It was fine, a lot of modern Hollywood issues, CGI gunfire, CGI blood, CGI impacts, (and now CGI car chases), actors clearly on green screen and an overall fake to a lot of it.

Unlike the Raid movies you wont be coming back to this in a few years.

Bummer @ the impressions.

Apparently the movie wrapped in 2021 but never released, affected by the big SAG-AFTRA strike, then went back for a second round of filming for reshoots in 2024.

Sounds like a troubled production they tried to salvage in post. Hope Gareth Evans gets another shot at a decent budget movie.

Well boys, you weren't kidding about the T E R R I B L E CGI use, just the initial car chase is straight up (bad) video game quality with impossible angles/framing etc but here's the thing, the acting is also HORRIBLE, never expected to see such shite from both Hardy and Whittaker, we're talking bottom of the barell acting here in the form of overacting, terrible delivery etc...

I lasted 40 minutes, ain't nobody got time for this type of shit, too little free time, lots of good movies out there to be wasting my time on this type of slop.

Ten minutes in, and I'm appalled by the use of shitty CGI overall vibes. Ten minutes in, and yet nothing has happened story wise. It's just shit.

Hardy is a bad actor and his American accents are awful.

Saw that today and holy moly this filmed is bad like someone took a shit in a blender and threw it at a wall and said yeah this will stick.

Its called havoc because that what happened with the script.

Lol @ at the infinite ammo guns. I know it's a movie and movie ammo but I've never seen a movie with clip sizes this huge. You had people firing dull auto for whole minutes.

How did Gareth evens fuck this.

Surprised people are not too happy with this. Yeah, its full of CGI and story wise its very plain cakes But moodsetting was very good in my opinion. I got reminded of Sin City, without a narrator, and even Blade Runner. I felt the crap CGI chases actually helped that gritty, unfinished vibe it had.

The violence was nuts. Most of the kills were clearly John Wick inspired.

I think what doesnt help is that these movies dont appear so often, so this feels "fresh".

I dunno, it was good to me. Also helps it isnt a very long movie.

The reshoots prob hurt this, but its def a watchable movie just for the artstyle/mood setting. Or the violence. This is one of those flicks that lets you in on new ways to kill something.

Also: the shotgun usage in Havoc is amazing and sounds amazing too. And just like in any game that has it, a good shotty is worth a million bucks.

Surprised you saw it tbh. What with the camera lens on the floor and rolling around for most of the film .

Just finished it.

Awful. Pure trash and contender for the worst film I've seen this year.

The CGI chase scene at the beginning didn't fill me with hope. Unfortunately it was downhill from there.

I'm not going to talk about the "plot". Nobody watches a film like this for the story. They watch it for the action. However, that's actually the biggest problem with this film.

Do you like Dutch angles, quick cuts and shaky cam? If so you'll love this film. You'll find them overused in every single action scene. Sometimes all of these gimmicks are being used at the same time, making it almost impossible to know what's actually happening on screen.

The action is also way over the top. People are just dodging bullets like it's the Matrix. Characters roll on the floor while being sprayed at point blank range with automatic fire. Not a scratch. They just get up and blast people away with unlimited ammo guns.

The end scene in the log cabin is so wildly over the top that it just ends up being funny.
