Half-Life 3 Leak/Speculation By Tyler McVicker

New hefty Counter Strike 2 and Deadlock (which had its own hero roster leak again) updates came out. You know what that means. The Source 2 dataminers are back at it gain. Grain of salt and all that, you know the drill. GabeFollower and Tyler Mcvicker released the usual videos within striking distance of each other, the takeaways:

  • Reiteration of previously datamined mechanics: heavy physics gameplay, thermodynamic mechanics, AI improvements, vehicle simulation, etc.
  • Thumper and Antlions "confirmed".
  • Dynamic wind system that affects gameplay. Connected to a possible weather system.
  • Tons of refactoring and heavy documentation occurring within the codebase. Presumably occurs during the late stages of development. Also potentially might hint at mod support day one or close to it.
  • RUMOR - Gabefollower claims HLX (Half Life 3) is already at the stage where some parts of the project is already finished and just needs a bit more polish. Valve developers have been moving around different projects. Usually this means that the original project they were working on is a sinking ship they ran away from but this time around, it might mean that their work isn't needed for HLX anymore. Additionally, HLX might have non-hitscan weapons with bullets that are directly affected by the gravity conditions of an area. In conjunction with the refactoring news, Mcvicker believes that if this were any other company he'd think we were at the final final stages of development but Valve is Valve so yeah. Though the amount of refactoring occurring does heavily hint at large swathes of the game most likely being done already.

Half-Life 3 HLX Progresses With Optimization and Gameplay Updates

The development of Valve's HLX project, speculated to be Half-Life 3, is proceeding with optimization, changes to gameplay mechanics, and new features.


In a new video shared on YouTube, known Valve dataminer and leaker Tyler McVicker provided an overview of every update made for the HLX project found in the most recent Counter-Strike 2 update. While no major change has been introduced, quite a bit of work has been done on the project, with the expansion of the vehicle system, a new particle system specifically made for HLX that will handle liquids, a friction system, and a new system that will determine what happens when an enemy part is destroyed.

For real. Either it's imminent or it isn't. Quit being an overexcited wang and just let me know when it's actually about to be revealed. Even for me, as someone that desperately wants HL3, the constant "WOW LOOK AT THIS SOURCE CODE HERE" information is lame as shit.
 
We should have a poll thread where everyone locks in their position on if it exists or not. The losers have to do some avatar or tag thing. Let the doubters be counted in daylight.

I noped when other developers were brought in to contribute. Certainly, that would have leaked by now if that was true. Or do we know who these developers from famous teams actually are?
Anyway, even when you get big Valve news except nothing to happen for 3 more years to never.

I have it on high authority that Valve will reveal this game and stealth drop it, along with Bloodborne remastered tomorrow.

I have it on good authority that the "Press Start" screen is almost finished. Just gotta tighten up the graphics. They are a bit stumped on the end credits because no one has been working on the game otherwise.
 
There's too much pressure on this. Very hard for it to pass prototype stage and get a 100million+ budget lit.

If it was actually in development we'd have known. This is likely not even at the Perfect Dark reboot stage, and even that got cancelled.

TripleAs, unless they have momentum and present market traction (like COD) have become unwieldily and unfeasible in the last few years. Case is out even on GTA6.

When they announce half life 3 they should start the trailer off with Gabe just sitting there, then he raises his hand and struggles to show 3 fingers, then when he finally able to show 3 fingers it cuts to the trailer

Why people on videogame forums have this necessity to say things that are not true? There was never "YEARS" on that equation

The guy only started to say hl3 e is real at one year at best on his ten plus year channel

Dude has been talking about Half-Life 3 for years, not only for one year. But now that he knows how to use Discord to see what people datamine, he has gotten more obnoxious in his baseless hyping of it.
 
His whole personality is HL3, iirc even his channel started out as a HL3 News channel nearly 2 decades ago, he can't be saved
