I loved RDR. (Some of Mexico was a slog, though.)
I read about RDR2 and I dislike various design choices. But I still want to play it one day, maybe just to enjoy the scenery and fishing and hunting. I don't care about Dutch's gang and the story, really. This will probably be the push I need. I bought the game on sale years ago, so that was a smart move haha.

I might go back and play it on PS5 Pro if this is real. I got the game on release but never finished it until like 2 years ago on PC.
It wouldn't be Rockstar if they didn't try to milk you.

Don't feel that way. I couldn't finish it either. Was not a fan of the controls, but I might give it another go if there's a next-gen update.
Probably something to whet the appetite while GTA VI comes no doubt.

Hopefully Sony works out a deal with them like they did for the GTAV PS5 upgrade.

That's not an "upgrade", but a sabotage of the creative intent of the game. It is not supposed to feel like Titanfall, in fact, the exact opposite.

If it's not a lazy port, I'll make a bold prediction that it will run at 60fps (or close to it uncapped) on Switch 2.

What I'd really want is a physical version of a complete remaster at 60fps.
With "remaster" meaning a very good port like the recent RDR on PS4/PC, restoring what was downgraded from 1.00 and with the shadows and tessellation PC improvements on top, at 4K 60fps. Featuring a proper Marston model.
That would be a definitive version for me.. for which I'd gladly pay hundred bucks or more even. Not like we'll ever get another game like this, and not like the game in 1.00 needs any RT features with its CG-Like Ambient Occlusion and GI.

I doubt it will be a patch, it'll probably be a separate version with a $10 upgrade path just like GTA5.

I manifested this, I reinstalled this about 2 hrs before this post. My first playthrough was on Xbox One X, I have it on PC aswell but a next gen update would be nice still.
On a side note, Its been about 2 yrs since I played RDR2 and playing it for about an hr just then I have to say nothing comes close to it still, the world is alive, the atmosphere is unmatched, It makes me more excited for GTA6 and then hopefully RDR3.
