Yeah it was locked to 30, but running at 20 or something like that most of the time.
They made the weird mistake (?) that the game was running in 1080p in portable mode... On a 720p screen.

I got mine … with a pro controller … case… 512gb card.. cyberpunk… Mario kart..

The screen is so nice and big.. I love everything about this device so far

The Switch 1 and 2 do not fit into each other's docks, but looking down into the docks and at the bottoms of the two consoles, it's clear that the difference is the two small indentations next to the USB-C ports are slightly different width

There is no reason for Nintendo to do this????

Why not let the Switch 1 fit into the Switch 2 dock and vice versa???

Why do I have to keep 2 docks side by side, and also use up 2 HDMI inputs instead of just 1?????

WHAT THE FUCK, NINTENDO?!?!??!

It should be trivial for some third party to produce a "dock adapter" that just changes the width of the indentations to make the Switch 1 and 2 fit in each other's docks

Man Nintendo's serves are slower than a week in jail 😑 ended up just going to sleep last night as it took over an hour to download MKW, & since then it's downloaded 2 other games ffs. I got 200+ GB worth to download 😭
(Am on 1gbs internet)

The Switch 2 dock delivers much more power than the Switch 1 dock did. If they let you use the Switch 1 dock then you would be stuck playing in portable mode on a big screen.

Edit: Though I guess the Switch 1 in a Switch 2 dock could have worked in principle.

Why Game Boy color cartriges don't fit the original Game Boy ?

This is classic Nintendo, it's to avoid people not using their products properly

When the PS4 dropped I ate nothing but heinz baked beans and tesco's own brand rice cakes for 4 weeks so I could buy one and still make rent. I think I had scurvy while I played Battlefield 4

At least transfer your save data. Everything else you can re-download piecemeal
 
Even as a console whore I told myself all along I wasn't getting a Switch 2. Got up this morning read a few tweets, looked at a local store who had them in stock and ready to collect. Now I am the owner of a Swich 2 Mario Kart World bundle and a pro controller. Why do I literally have no self control?! My streak of owning every games console since the Sega Megadrive days continues I guess ffs.
 
So, unfortunately it seems that a lot of docked games (Hitman, Cyberpunk) suffer from the lack of VRR and have inconsistent framerates. My fear has been realized.

As someone who doesn't use portable this is a huge red flag. The portable VRR straightens out the issues mostly.

No VRR for Docked seems to be a huge mistake on Nintendo's part.

It looks like Hitman drops below the 48 FPS minimum for VRR, and Cyberpunk only has a 40 FPS mode in the first place. So you need LFC, not just VRR.

Which everyone in the VRR thread seemed to completely ignore.

Man, that's just horrible news. Can't believe they messed up like this.

My S2 is getting delivered any moment now but the hype has deflated here. Thinking of cancelling in favor of PS5 Pro. Besides MKW and 3rd party port testing, there's nothing I would play anyway.

Fully expect these games to get several stability patches moving forward. Remember, these are the launch games and basically will have had some of the shortest dev times out of all Switch 2 launches.

Also I'm sure Nvidia and Nintendo are looking into solutions for docked VRR. Just give them time. Their focus right now is just getting out a successful launch.
 
Just got mine. No pre order, I just walked into a store at the opening and it was fine (I live in Paris)

I expect the system to be sold out in a few hours over here tho, lots of people were queuing after me.

Can't wait to finally play BD and to replay one of my GOAT: Yakuza 0!

Bit the bullet and ordered one at Argos this morning. Will pick it up on Saturday to surprise my daughter along with Mario Kart World and ToTK. She's been mentioning the Switch 2 almost every evening after school the last week, so she's gonna go ape shit when we pick it up 😁
