Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

Thats Racist GIF

has anyone been able to get the 8BitDo Ultimate Controller to work with the Switch 2? it acts like it's paired but the Switch 2 doesn't recognize it (can't get it to work either using Bluetooth or the 2.4Ghz dongle)

Final Fantasy Pixel Remastered is FIXED!!!. At least FF3 is for me. You all might think I'm nuts but when I accessed the magic menu in FF3 on Switch it would cause a weird menu lag that ate my inputs. I just tested this out on Switch 2 and the game is not doing the laggy crap when I access the magic menu. I confirmed it still does this on Switch but Switch 2 its like butter now. My $80 dollar purchase is finally redeemed and I'll finally get to play FF3!

I asked the lady that brought me mine if I was suppose to get the bag with chips. LOL, she said I'm just bringing everything that they told me to bring for this order. This was a really cool experience but man was it stressful up until launch day.

This determines whether I think about buying the system or not, not buying a new controller for couch co-op Mario Kart.

I went to the midnight launch last night with a buddy and got home around like 1-130 and got everything set up and downloading some games. This thing feels REALLY good. The size is much better than before without being bulky like the Steam Deck. Feels really premium and looks it as well. I like the understated look unlike something gaudy like the ROG Ally.

This morning I happened to go to target to see if they had any pro controllers and they did so I grabbed one and holy shit these sticks feel great. These are by far the best feeling sticks I've used. I love how easy and intuitive it is to remap the paddles as well.

I'm restarted BOTW and this looks and feels so good.

Very satisfied so far.

I did not get pringles or a coke from Walmart.

There is something that my LG doesn't like about the HDR. I had to turn off the tv setting for it to get the screen to show up on my tv.

I need a much longer cable hdmi.

My LG Nano had a little tantrum when I tried HDR earlier, default for me.

Trying a LOT of 3rd party ports.

- Witcher 3 runs and looks remarkably well on handheld with the right options on and off. (No blur, no anti aliasing, everything to high and sharpening to off or the first option.) 30fps but stable and fine for the handheld experience.
- LA Noire runs stable now, but for some reason this game looks bad in motion with the 30fps.
- Firewatch has an absolutely horrible framerate and performance. Maybe even worse than before. Not sure what to think here, but it's shit on other platforms as well.
- Ethan Carter runs 60fps with max FOV handheld and performance. A real looker.
- Alien Isolation runs the same and still has horrible input lag due to double buffered v-sync.

- load times are a bit quicker but nothing to write home about. Witcher 3 still takes a long time.
- 30fps is just about acceptable on this screen but the extra power should be used to make most games 60.

I managed to make it work by switching other cables around but this is the honest truth. It needed another foot to be of adequate length.
It's shorter than the switch 1 cable. I'm now using the Switch 2 HDMI for my soundbar and the Ugreen HDMI from my soundbar for the Switch 2 lol

Any of you guys tried Xenoblade 3 post update?
Loading it up now, I'll let you know

EDIT: the update is taking FOREVER to download, Nintendo's servers must be melting

Got two switches this morning (1 for me 1 for wife. Separate stores) no issue, just like the switch 1 launch.

Feels premium. Hard to describe, but holding both systems in hand. Both joycons, both pro controllers, the difference is actually pretty large.

Downloaded everything after the system transfer, which went pretty damn fast, surprising me. The eshop is completely different animal. Not only is it instant, but no lag/chug at all, and videos play, with sound when you just go over them, no hitch. Remarkable. Downloaded the Zelda updates, and it feels like a new game. Shocking actually. I may have to replay both games.

Side note-I was checking out all the menus, both on the system, and in the eshop. I clicked on the voucher tab, and the system froze. Had to take it out of the dock, and hold the power button for 20 seconds before I rebooted it. Don't know if its a bug, but I couldn't do anything, and there was a loading circle in the lower left hand corner, and the only button that worked on the pro controller was the B, but it just made a noise.

Other then that, smooth sailing. Oh, and I got bigger hands, and the new larger joycons, and especially the buttons on the inside, are so much better. It doesn't seem that much bigger in the pictures, but when holding them, its a huge upgrade for those of us with paws.

Yeah I'm debating whether or not I should bother going to Target at all or just hit up the staples 10 miles from my house at 8 AM and hoping for the best.
In line at Staples now and am hoping this isn't some horrible trick and they only have 2 on hand: otherwise my odds are pretty good since there are only 5 people in line including myself compared to Target practically next door with closer to 100.

Edit: Staples: "We've Got That" Me: "More like I got dis!…welcome to erf!"

The Switch 1 and 2 do not fit into each other's docks, but looking down into the docks and at the bottoms of the two consoles, it's clear that the difference is the two small indentations next to the USB-C ports are slightly different width

There is no reason for Nintendo to do this????

Why not let the Switch 1 fit into the Switch 2 dock and vice versa???

Why do I have to keep 2 docks side by side, and also use up 2 HDMI inputs instead of just 1?????

WHAT THE FUCK, NINTENDO?!?!??!

It should be trivial for some third party to produce a "dock adapter" that just changes the width of the indentations to make the Switch 1 and 2 fit in each other's docks
Mmmmoney.

So about the 4k and 120hz conflict, if I have 120hz mode activated that means the console automatically inputs at 1080 or 1440p?

Should I just turn it off to have 4k?

Love the console for now. Played Bravely Default for 2 hours and the remaster is AMAZING! I never played it before and I adored BD2 so I am really hyped. The game looks and runs like a dream.

Also tried a bit of Mario Kart and the game seems pretty fun so far.

Question to the elders of the internet.

Switch 1 games that do no have specific Switch 2 patch/upgrade, and had noticable performance issues on Switch 1 - do they run the same on Switch 2 with the same issuee, because S2 runs S1 games on emulator (I think) or are they smoother because of more processing power?
From what I've heard and seen, at least Age of Calamity and Bayonetta 3 seem to run better, but my console only arrives tomorrow so I can't check.

Just walked into Best Buy in NW suburbs of Chicago when the store opened to buy an MicroSD Express card and a couple of games to get $20 rewards. They still had Switch 2s for sale. This release has been plentiful.

Just put the Switch 2 on sleep mode, gonna leave it to download the mountain of games.

Also Nintendo was pretty on point with the gamecube controller shipping, cant believe it came here in the morning of all things.

Check if you have a staple on your screen when you have it

Won't be playing this game but that's very encouraging to see I'd personally love to see a boost on a bunch of games that aren't getting patches like Dragon Quest XI.

Not picking up a whole console for just one game, but this bodes pretty well for the Switch version of Deadly Premonition. It's the only console version that runs with an unlocked frame rate.

NS2 should make it stick to the 60fps ceiling in the open world areas, where it often runs in the teens on NS1.
