Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

Totally biffed and didn't read up on the system transfer feature and now I gotta wait till my og switch powers up way more. Ugh.

I need to check my Hori Street Fighter II RAP V fight stick tonight to see compatibility with NS2. I've already replaced all of the buttons and stick with Sanwa parts; so, I hope it works.
Did you get a chance to test? I'd like to use mine for SF6 tomorrow.

First off, breath of the wild and twars of the kingdom look INCREDIBLE! Better then i was anticipating.
I was curious, so I youtubed a video to see what the enhancement looks like;

(timestamped reference)

Made it 5 minutes and 25 seconds into the video. Texture pop-in as soon as you exit the cave, foliage in the background shimmering, etc. Looks like doodoo with bits of corn in it. The bar is so low for consumers have never saw this game proper on an emulator, I guess.

So you cannot wake a Switch 2 with the Switch 1 Pro Controller. You have to walk up to the Switch 2 in the dock, push the power button on top to wake it, and then turn the Pro Controller on to use it. This is a douche move by Nintendo, trying to make me buy a Switch 2 Pro Controller just so I can wake the console????

Dialing in the HDR setting is harder than I expected. I'm sure the GamingTech dude will eventually figure out how to do it well just as he did for PS5's wacky HDR setting

The AI in Mario Kart World is more douchey than ever before. You WILL eat multiple spiked shells just as the finish line is coming into view if you are in 1st place

I wasn't especially hyped, but the Switch 2 is much better than I was expecting. Far more comfortable. Screen is great. Frame rates are excellent.

BoTW is beautiful.

Aww that's a shame but thanks for the headsup! Will definitely wait until that's gotten a performance increase then as that game ran (and looked) like ass on the original Switch.
Yeah I hope id gives 2016 and Eternal patches. Eternal would crash constantly on Switch. I'll have to test it on Switch 2 tomorrow.

Yeah I'm also so salty about the Switch 1 Pro controller not being able to wake/turn on my Switch 2. Fucking Nintendo.
Id probably go a 8bitdo (if that works) over a pro 2 if I end up getting something new

Nintendo are certainly swines, but that sounds like the sort of thing that might get patched?

Anyone know how to stop the autoplay videos on the Nintendo Shop? I haven't used Switch 1 in ages, so I don't know if an update made it do that on there as well, but it's super obnoxious.

An entry point but he mentions it's very unlikely to be able to advance much more because of the way the user space operates.

I have two coming in the mail and this is easily the least excited console release I've had in my life since being a console fan. I don't even have any games coming lol
Im having a great time with MKWorld and I can't wait for Donkey Kong, but this system is in desperate need for a Nintendo Direct asap to announce more release dates.

Shits gonna look real bad if SGF and Xbox Showcase happens and there are (what I predict to happen) barely any Switch 2 announcements.

I gotta be honest, the new 'virtual card' section of the NS2 menu is so satisfying especially when you add something new and it shows that little card insertion animation with the satisfying "CLICK" sound. It's also so easy to get the Switch 2 versions of Switch 1 games working. Clicked the Virtual card option, click Breath of the Wild, boom starts downloaded. Insert BOTW Switch card into the NS2 system, starts installing, then bought the $9.99 BOTW Switch 2 upgrade code on Gamestops website, add it to the code section of the store and it will add the Switch 2 upgrade to the Virtual card section of the home menu. Now I just have to wait for the download to finish. I guess its downloading all the new assets etc. I need to see how much space it takes up though.

It's funny that we all talk about how is this game, or that game, blah blah blah BUT what we forget is how many quality-of-life upgrades there are regardless of any GAME. Everything you do on the NS2 is so fast now! Downloads via Wifi? SUPER FAST. Flipping through the Store that used to take FOREVERRRR on the Switch 1? INSTANT. Even if you don't care for many of the games on Switch 2 so far, its worth it for how much better it runs and how much better the device feels in the hands. Worth every penny.

I had exactly the same thing mate delivered this morning and similarly I was annoyed.

I went down to the store to pick one up fresh and... turns out all the seals have basically disintegrated on all the consoles they had. I saw 3 of them, 4 including mine all the same. Staff confirmed the issue seems widespread and they've been advised about it.

I'm still returning my original as it's also weirdly dusty and dirty inside but I genuinely think this is nothing more than cheap poor quality sticker seals. Slight tarnish on an otherwise exciting day.

Nintendo didn't even glue the plastic packets the bits in the box came in. I think they've gone down the sustainable/enviromental route.

Regarding the "seal". This is what I posted earlier right when I got home with it. Notice the tab at the bottom. There was nothing there "sealing" anything. I had a knife ready to break the seal, but didn't need it. Not a big deal, but odd in this day for it be like this.

Walked in to my local Best Buy at lunch. They had them on the shelf behind the counter. Snagged one.

Mario Kart World kinda crapola.
Expected a full open world with loads to do, sort of like Burnout Paradise. Maybe with a bit of Mario Odyssey sprinkled through.
I think there's a reason it's kinda hidden on the main menu.
Basically there are three things to do, P Switch challenges, Find a '?' panel, or find a peach coin.
P-Switches are generally a 10-60 second challenge and are pretty basic - alot of roll through these checkpoints...
Nintendo fans will prob love it though - cos they'll be like "The world is so full of life! I saw a ShyGuy with sunglasses!!!! I wonder where he's going!"

It gets clowned on a LOT, but scarlet/violet play like an absolute dream on switch 2. Soooooo smooth and looks a whole lot better with loads of Pokemon om screen and no more 2fps animations in the background.

The game is very easy to recommend now

Tested 2016 and it still looks like shit. An S2 patch would be most welcome.
I can see id putting in the work to promote the eventual Dark Ages port.

Diablo 2 Resurrected is another game that desperately needs a patch. It looks like complete ass on Switch. Terrible blown-out lighting and 30fps. Blech.

Thanks I just tried Scarlet the out and agree. While we're on the subject of testing old games Splatoon 2 and 3 seem to be running better to me although the hub areas seem to be frame locked.

The shimmering and filtering is absolutely horrible. Especially the shadows that are shaking until you get closer. Really distracting.

Surely more was possible with a few tweaks here and there.

Disappointed.

By the way. It really occured to me just now that night in this game isn't really dark at all. Like, it's almost day.

Apparently older Pro Controllers can't wake it up and newer Pro Controllers can.

The more I play Mario Kart World, the more I think the graphics are mid AF.

It's all so hazy and empty and jaggy. Not a fan of the art direction. The previous Mario Karts looked way better in my opinion.

Happy with my purchase regardless.

Arcade Archives 2 RIDGE RACER is $16.99.

Just tested and this seems correct. I don't have a new Pro Controller, but the GameCube controller does wake the system.

The screen is not bad at all. If you're expecting cutting edge like when Sony released the vita you'll be disappointed but otherwise it's very solid.

A target 45 mins from me had a bunch left over 10 or more they said at 3pm. Took the drive and picked one up. I just hate how, that I can't buy a bunch of old switch games for cheap they are all hovering around full price.

The screen is mid. It's not awful like the switch 1 but I wouldn't call it good either.

The one thing I don't like so far is how the joycons aren't grippy. With the additional weight of the switch 2, it feels like it'll slip out.

Checked this morning for all central Alabama Targets. All had stock

Now. One 1 has stock. Apparently 2 left according to the website. In store pickup only. 1 per customer. Both great things. No scalping.

I expect Supply to also be replenished quickly. This is a good thing frankly

I was shocked a few stores near me had any in stock at all, same deal here no ordering online and holding it. Girl on the phone said they have around 10 left and they couldn't hold any even after I told her I was driving 40+ mins she said good luck and they could be gone by the time I arrived lol Anyway checked stock like an hour after and all the stores look totally wiped out.
