Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Weird they would leave obvious hair clipping in close up like this

no idea why but I found re graphics quite charming

2:20 looks cool
2:28 water effects look really cool too
2:43 lods draw distance and overall visual quality seems nice

it is a really nice upgrade over last re game imo

Hard to tell from that shitty trailer. But i noticed an upgrade in detail, number of objects on screen, lighting and reflections. Definitely a big upgrade over re4.

Character models are shit.

Just want to express some more disappointment. Got the Switch 2 and my most played game is Wind Waker. Not happy with the screen- not having an Oled was a huge mistake. Mario Kart in handheld mode, where I play 95% of the time, might be impressive if the IQ was better .. Well, the game itself is good with great level design and lots of fun stuff happening on screen. Fast fashion doesn't look good in handheld its too muddy looking.

Games need an update to look great in handheld and in true games company fashion there are only 10 games Nintendo was gracious enough to "bless us" with. So Zelda, Bowsers Fury, and Mario Odyssey do look really good but Metroid Prime Remaster and many more exclusives feel gimped without a patch.

I continue to be disappointed with Doom on Pro....trying to mess with the settings and no matter what can't get it to look sharp. How is the RTGi so utterly ineffective? Even Indiana Jones rtgi puts this games to shame.

Nioh 3 .....lolz

I went from extremely optimistic this week with Witcher 4 and thinking e3 season will give us a bunch of stuff to look forward to, to utterly deflated with MGS3 delta, CD Project devs comments etc. Now im thinking after all this ...at least Sony will give us DS2 and Ghost of Yotei ...yay

Literally above me.

Outside of character models and Kojima cinematography main graphics of DS2 is not that impressive. We don't know how gameplay of RE9 looks like exactly (only few potential fragments in trailer) but I don't see any big difference between overall gfx quality of those two games.

I already see it in many ways, though I have to say... This trailer was weird because it seemed to be shot in two separate planes (might be intentional?), I am deeply confused by it watching it again.

Rewatched ILL trailer again. UE5 is heading full steam into a redemption arc.
This happens every time they release a new iteration on their engine, they show off some crazy looking tech demo and everyone is awestruck at the Fidelity. Then it takes about 5 or 6 years before any games show up that remotely resemble it

I just hope these new UE5 games run good enough. Every single UE5 game i've tried has had performance issues. Playing on 4080s/14600k/32GB DDR5. So not a low end system either.

I'd say the wait is over, just took almost an entire generation to get to this point though.

The only "next gen" looking games came from small studios. Crazy. RE9 looks great but not
necessarily "next gen". I think the industry is stuck on old engines and tech except a few like UE5, Rage engine, Avilnext and Snowdrop.

8 person studio

The part where the man in the hazmat suit comes out looks CGI!

Yeah, if it wasn't for UE5 this gen would be a disaster tech wise.
Exactly

This is not Assassin's creed or GTA - you won't be able to see stuff like this in gameplay. This shot was created for a cutscene.
The game is supposed to be fully open world. You may not see that particular Birds Eye view but you will definitely see the horizon in this game.

A cutscene is still part of the visual presentation. Half the screenshots people argue about in this thread are from cutscenes.

I also wouldn't be so certain you won't see any of this during gameplay. It was an open world game at one point according to rumors. Who knows how much of that design remains in the game.

Hmm, trailer suggested something linear to me.

Open world + RE engine is a BAD combination.
We'll see how it ultimately pans out. RE8 ran incredibly well, despite its map size, although it wasn't a sprawling open world, of course. I'll be rather surprised if a modern RE title runs poorly.

All the other 'leaks' on this game were completely false and the trailer made it seem like a heavily story driven linear game, doubt you ever make it that far on foot.
