None.

Better get a Samsung: Galaxy S25 Ultra, Xiaomi: Xiaomi 15 Ultra, or Huawei: Huawei Pura 80 Ultra.

Stay away from the iPhone. Besides being rubbish, it has the worst AI, especially in photography.

If not, tell me your budget, but definitely stay away from that fake fraud that is the iPhone and Pixel, I don't trust them.

But I hear Samsung phones are for poor people and crack heads
That's a complete lie.

I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and it's been great. It has Google and I can watch YouTube.

Samsungs are among the best brands, along with Xiaomi and Huawei.

iPhones are just going to rip you off. There are YouTube videos that don't even fix the photo in AI mode.

I'm going to change my cell phone in a year, but I would go for Samsung or Huawei.

Whichever one fits your ecosystem

My iPhone plays nice with my iPad and Macbook, Apple Watch, AirPods etc, no other company comes close to this.

Android phones are just as good as iPhones, but Android tablets and Chromebooks are pretty useless, and syncing with Windows is awkward (remember Windows Phone and Microsoft's attempt to copy Apple's ecosystem with universal apps?)

I like my iPad Pro, but I would never go from Android to iOS when it comes to smartphones. I think Android is vastly superior in that regard as it allows you to customize stuff and generally gives you more freedom. I prefer Nova Launcher over iOS and I like being able to choose how long I press a letter before it becomes a number. Just a bunch of little quality of life stuff that makes iOS suffocating in comparison. It has its strengths of course, but not for me.

If you don't want to waste time on endless customization because your sense of life is changing the colors of icons on the Home Screen and you are in Apple ecosystem - iPhone.

For anything else - Android.

Unfortunately the S25 Ultra was barely an improvement on the S24 Ultra (and in some ways, a downgrade... I'm looking at you, S-Pen), so I'd get that and save some money.

Huawei have the whole Google Play Store issue but they do have great cameras.

This is correct.

The iPhone is probably the better phone for just these reasons alone but only if they matter to you and provide you with value.

The iPhone has far superior integration with its products than the others but that should be 100% expected given how Apple can run everything through the same funnel.

At the end of the day, it's not like any of the high end phones are anything less than stellar.

I'm probably the biggest phone nerd on here. I've been using Chinese phones for over 5 years because of the superior cameras but I probably wouldn't recommend them to your avg person. I'd go with Google. I think Oppo and Vivo have global versions of their phones. I always import the Chinese version because they are cheaper and get updated sooner but there are little quirks like a few trivial things being in Chinese and the initial setup.

The Tensor APUs suck, I'd take Samsung over Google. Changing to iPhone Pro Max at the end of this month from an S22 Ultra, just want to try something different (and iOS is better for families).

I have heard that Pixels are not great phones medium term in reliability, and the CPU is not as good as the ones in other devices.

If you want an iPhone adn dont need it immediately I would wait for the 17 later this year.

This thread feels relevant to me. I had some money earmarked to buy a pricey HX 370 handheld PC but maybe it's better to just get a new phone. It's actually something that I'll be using often compared to a handheld PC, not to mention I already have a Steam Deck anyway. Also, I'm coming from a cheap $100 phone that's 5+ years old so practically everything is an upgrade.

Keep giving those recommendations, lads. Can these fancy flagships emulate Ps3/Switch?

Functionality/performance wise, they' practically the same if you don't care about ecosystem stuff. Pixel has the nice high refresh display.

if you care at all about privacy though, iPhone 100%.

If you give a damn about privacy, Apple. I used to be a big Android user and evangelist, but Google has been going down the drain in terms of privacy and giving a two shits about the customer.

Apple isn't perfect, but I'd take them over Google, Samsung, or most Chinese brands any day.

I can't justify paying twice as much for an iPhone. Sure, I would rather an iPhone, but my Pixel is pretty good too. I buy whatever is substantially cheaper that has great performance.

Don't just read into phones based on tabulated data. The iPhone for example needs less hardware to pull equal, if not better power than a Samsung due to the hardware and software being designed for one another.

Pixels are awesome too, so if you're leaning that way go ahead. Pick what you think fits better into your ecosystem and for what it's worth iPhones work amazing with Mac and just as good as android on PC.
Definitely don't go Chinese though.

Oh and some people saying iPhone costs are too much. Most flagship phones are generally on par if you compare the top iPhone to the top Samsung.

Gotta go with iphone, and damn right because Android is weird!!
vs apple GIF

That's why Pixel is better. You can install Graphene OS and completely root out Google. You can DeGoogle a Pixel but can't DeApple an iPhone.

Neither for me, i still prefer my mid range Samsung with sd card support although i just had an update One UI 7 or something with this Gemini AI inside it, i disabled it and i cannot uninstall it either, i'm not doing what my phone tells me to lol.

Paying $1k for a Chinese brand, major gross. This is probably worse than your take on FF Tactics.

Fuck Google and their nonstop ads on Youtube, go with the lesser evil Apple. Also do yourself a favor and install Brave browser.

Are you angry that China is at the forefront of cell phones?

no, it doesn't

androids need constant attention and lots of tinkering
Lol, have you ever owned an android if so which one? You don't need to "tinker" you can customize all you want IF you want but it's not necessary something you Apple fans know very little about. Constant attention? Your initial set up consists of signing into your email and setting up your finger print it takes all of 2 minutes.

iphone has been rubbish and a load of bollocks for a long time. Most of its base is completely bought into that sunken cost fallacy.
