This is no more limited edition then their Helldivers 2 or Death Stranding controllers and those were both $84.99. They already said no plans to raise accessory pricing when they raised the console prices recently.

With how shitty the battery life for a dualsense is, it would be hillarious to see how long it lasts unplugged lol.

DualSense battery life really dependens on how much the non-standard features are utilized. Which, ironically enough, means Astro Bot is among the worst offenders.

A big chunk of users actually prefer wired plug-in controllers for the added immersion, reduced latency and simplicity.
They should've made a "DualSense Adult" variant with no big lights, no speakers and the DualShock 2's durable hard-wired plug.

I opted for a 2 slot dock and swap them out in my living room. And I have a wired one attached to my PC.

Yeah, I have the official charging dock and just put them on whenever I'm done. I generally keep one of my 30th and my Edge on there and just use whichever fits my needs at the time better.

I mean there literally is a special twist on the original controller. Nothing they said is wrong. It's just not a huge twist.

It's white because they want it to look like Astro-Bots face and he doesn't have any black dalmatian spots. Seems to make sense when every other design choice on the controller is to appear like Astro-Bot down to the shiny blue panels.

I mean it partially is. People aren't as clean as they think they are.

Also just buy some cheap analog stick covers. I bought Skull N Co ones for my 30th Anniversary ones since I didn't want to wear down the sticks since they aren't the standard black.

LED(not lcd) displays have been a thing since the 70ies.
And even back then could run off a 1cm2 solar panel powered by incandescent 60w light bulb(no sun needed).

Basically the power use in something like this is nothing by modern battery device standards, if they bothered to design for it.
