Has anyone watched Scream Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street? It's a documentary about the second A Nightmare on Elm Street and Mark Patton's experience (he played Jesse). I watched it a few years ago and it's good. I don't think people would be hearing things about the movie that they didn't really figure out by watching it but it's still a good watch, especially if you're a fan of Elm Street.

Anyone have horror collections (figures, shirts, movies, etc)? Would be cool to share.
I've watched it but don't remember a whole lot of it.

Would definitely recommend the "Never Sleep Again" one, that was really good if seeking Elm Street doco's.

Most of the cast from each movie show up in that one.

Saw the latest Conjuring movie today at the theater. We both enjoyed it. Not our favorite of the series, but still quite enjoyable.

I love those films, I admit that lot of them aren't great but I love them despite the flaws. I especially love the demon designs. I can't wait to watch this movie

I should have hated this but I had a good time with it by the end. Practical effects a plenty. You can tell they spend a ton on the Intestines prosthetic and they damn well wanted their moneys worth lol. If you don't enjoy low budget horror then avoid.

Worth it for the last 20 minutes alone. 3/5.

Bonus half point for Nelix from Voyager being in it.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it.

Horror doing wonders.

FD Bloodlines made the second highest profit (75M) for WB this year, behind Superman.

The Alto Knights," had set the studio back at least $110 million in losses. But the remaining lineup has delivered some enviable profit margins. Case in point: "Sinners" is expected to generate around $60 million in theatrical profits; "Superman" around $125 million; "Final Destination: Bloodlines" approximately $75 million; "Weapons" around $65 million (and counting), according to knowledgeable individuals. For "F1," Warner Bros. was paid a flat distribution fee as well as a percentage of revenues in line with certain box office benchmarks, resulting in theatrical profits of roughly $34 million.

Superman: 125M
FD:B: 75M
Weapons: 65M
Sinners: 60M
F1: 34M
Alto Knights: -110M

I'm glad horror is doing well. Even if Weapons is the only one on that list I've bothered watching. Apparently the New Conjuring is doing very well despite online impressions that it's very avg and the ending is really bad. Still.in the air about seeing it.

My wife and I watched Shamalama ding dongs "Old". We liked it. Plot holes are obvious but I did NOT see the ending coming.

I love me some horror movies and shows, but sadly I've reached an age where it just doesn't scare or shock me at all.

Seen so many sick, twisted horrors too that it just doesn't mean much anymore, plus the fact that it's all fiction anyway. Still, some horrors out there where events occur that can happen in real life can get under my skin, which is nice. That being said I still enjoy the genre a lot.

Some good shit has been dropped in the cinemas this year too.

Did you ever watch the Netflix show - The Haunting of Hill House?

I'd recommend that if you haven't, good night watch, ghosts often hidden, creepily standing in the background of scenes.

Yup. I watched all seasons, I think two? It was good, for sure, but they don't scare me anymore. Well, jump scares sure, especially with good surround sound but the feeling of being scared? Nah, I do miss that.

I remember when I was young and I watched Halloween for the first time, sheesh I really didn't want to go into the hallway and then up the stairs to my bedroom, it almost felt as if Michael Myers was behind me. 😂

The Conjuring

Man, they're really milking this franchise dry, huh?

Anyway, I watched WEAPONS recently and honestly…it's a 6.5/10 at best.

I get what the director was going for with the tone, but, I just can't stand this kind of formula/format anymore: 15 minutes of setup → hard cut to black → character title cards → endless flashbacks that take up two-thirds of the runtime → then the last 10-15 minutes rush through the actual story. It's so overdone and cliché at this point.

Brolin's role felt pointless too like he could've not even been in the film and nothing would change. The ending especially felt EXTREMELY rushed like they were out of time and just crammed everything into the final 10 minutes.

Sure, the cinematography was nice and it wasn't boring, but it definitely wasn't a good film.

I much preferred Longlegs, Cage's fuckery, the atmosphere, the imagery, the way each frame kept you scanning for hidden details plus the genuine sense of dread made that one far more effective.

Meh/6.5 out of 10

Barbarian and Weapons are very fine movies. RE is in very good hands with Zach Cregger. Also, Josh Brolin would have been an amazing Joel.

I enjoyed Weapons a lot, though I think Together is probably my favourite horror so far this year. Not sure what else is coming out.
Yeah I was wondering what else is coming out this year. I haven't seen together yet but for me Bring her back has been my favorite up till now. Having said that I've only watched that and I think Weapons maybe I'll watch black phone 2.

Yeah, Black Phone 2 is something I wanna watch. Enjoyed the first. May have to rewatch it before the second.

I want them to keep on making Conjuring movies though. They can milk it all they want but I'll be there

Just seen Conjuring Last Rites and yeah, wasn't a great movie. Not that scary compared to the previous films, having a large family getting haunted felt kinda repetitive and to be honest not much happened in the finale. I liked 1 and 2, but after that I wouldn't give a positive review to anything else from this IP. Mixed ones at best.

They're going to continue to milk it unfortunately. It's easy to create more content without insane budgets and it still seems to bring a lot of interest and a lot of money.

I can relate to that.

Ash Williams here to rescue us.

Caught another two movies from the backlog today

1. Nope

This to me was far more sci fi than horror movie. It had a lot of good ideas, the UFO design was unique and interesting but for some reason it just didn't hit home as much as the directors previous films like Get Out.

2. The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Man this was a good one, it surprised me a lot. Going about 30 mins in I thought it was going to be another mediocre possession movie but it was genuinely unsettling and had some brutal scenes.

Didn't get a chance to see Weapons at the movies but I finally got around to watching it at home on the weekend. Very very good film.
