Final Fantasy VII Remake literally getting God Mode

I'm pretty sure the ff7 - 9 all have this type of function on the ports.

While I agree you probably shouldn't use this the first time playthrough, multiple play through this is a godsend. Especially the speed up on the psx games ports (this likely won't have that obviously)

Will this be added to the PS4/5 versions? I love Remake and Rebirth. I want to replay Remake but there's so many games to play. An easy mode like this would be helpful.

Just an fyi for the ultra gamers here who are the best at video games. Final Fantasy has had these sort of settings for a while now.

FF16 has rings that make the game extremely easy
FFX-HD has the same, I think first introduced on the Vita
FF15 has Carbuncle that revives Noctis and prevents game overs.

To those upset by this: You'll be okay, the casuals can't hurt you.
and the ports of ff7 8 & 9 are the same as well

Needs it because these hybrid real time but maybe a little ATB systems are trash bro

Like roman reigns says to Seth Rollins:

You must be sleeping under a rock or something nga, I'M in GOD MODE SON!

The 1-6 Pixel Remasters all have exp and gold multipliers too. So it's not without precedent.

I would watch a movie which was just the game's cutscenes strung end to end

Playing FFVII Remake is an exercise in tedium but the story is cool and the cutscenes are the best CG has to offer

Fun fact, the last re-edition of the original FF7 before the remake also had built-in cheats and they even worked in the console versions. In addition to god mode I remember there was also a cheat for disabling random encounters.

Has anyone done an analysis to see how Switch 2 stacks up to PS4 and PS4 Pro with this game yet? Has there been enough direct feed capture to do that comparison? Would be very interesting to know how close it is. It looks great, for sure.

Yeah they made like an 80 hour game out of 10 hour section from the original? Something like that?

Interesting idea, it will basically make the game a playable movie so people that like games but are absolutely useless can play and enjoy the game.

Since I already beat, it's nice to have this

but since is a keycard only, I'll pass

What a stupid update... Make a "cinematic mode" with all the cinematics then... It's a video game, it's supposed to be played... An easy difficulty why not, but a "I'm not even playing" mode, no that's just dumb.

But that's this generation, no struggles, no pain, just chew my food for me please.

Exact same thing that is in FF VII, VIII & IX remasters, just without infinite limit breaks.

Wonder if it will block achievements/stop insta kill attacks such as Odin in Rebirth.

Eitherway. Makes 0 difference to me. Already platinumed both of them.

Were you saying the same in the past when cheats and GameShark etc were commonplace? This is nothing new.

Feels to me like they are so desperate for new consumers to get past Remake as fast as possible so they can buy Rebirth and be ready for Part 3.

What a complete clusterfuck this FF7Remake project has been. What should have been a simple 1-to-1 remake with newer graphics is now a complete commercial disaster.

Lame and uninspiring, on brand for the present Square Enix, the Japanese Ubisoft.
There's more truth to this statement than most people think imo.

Square is easily the most dysfunctional big publisher out there, like even Ubisoft has occasional great games like POP: Lost Crown.

Damn. Now I feel like I wasted 100+ hours platinum-ing the game without the cheats. With the cheats, you can probably platinum the game in 30-40 hours since the hard playthrough will be no different than the easy playthrough.

So... you didn't like playing the game, you felt like you wasted your time, but you still did the platinum anyway?
Why?

"gamers" have really become a bunch of pussy losers. Why don't devs just stop making a game and just sell us the intro and the ending

ITT people losing their shit over something completely optional being added to a 5+ year old game.

I liked playing the game, but it doesn't mean there aren't moments in the game that I didn't enjoy. I platinum'd it because after the first playthrough I was already pretty close. So I decided to go for it.

If you meant you wanted the cheats to go faster in a tedious second playthrough, I can understand that. It's just when you said it would turn 100 hours into 30, that sounds like you would use the cheats for the whole thing, and if that was the case, it would seem a bit counter intuitive to want to 100% a game where you're not having a great time.

I hope they bring it to playstation too, I like these "break the game" add ons for when I want to do a speed run once I've done everything else.
Weird to see a lot of complaints about this - if you don't want to use it, then don't.

Will they add a God Mode for Fort Condor in Rebirth? Got to ask the hard questions here.
I had a hard time with the last 2 matches of Fort Condor (resorted to Youtube videos to see how to complete them). I haven't collected all the protorelics yet but often the journey to a protorelic involves solid world or character building (Cosmo Canyon particularly) so I feel the regional protorelic sidequests are optional content people shouldn't miss. So it's frustrating when you hit the Fort Condor mini game and it's hard enough it can stall your progress for 45+ minutes. I like a lot of the mini games in Rebirth (ESPECIALLY Queen's Blood) and the ones I don't love I typically don't mind but some of the main games feel too involved. Too often you hit mini games that come across as needing to sincerely invest time in to to understand and complete and it can be frustrating.

I'm on Nibelheim right now of my first playthrough of Rebirth. I love this game. But there is so much. I can't imagine playing through it again. Gratefully I hear it has an excellent post game chapter selection option to reexperience sections of the game.
