Apple |OT| TV/Arcade/iPad/mac/iPhone

No love for the Air? It's thinner, lighter. I use it on my bed instead of an iPad because of the integrated keyboard and MacOS. I'm tented to try the Pro next year because of the better screen, but it's quite thicker and I don't really know if it's going to be as comfortable to use.
I've been using an iPad Air for a while now, and I have to say, I love it. Light and stylish. I'm not giving it up anytime soon.

But I'm still debating whether to get an Apple Magic Keyboard. The price is ridiculously high. I don't really trust keyboard alternatives. They aren't cheap either, and I have my doubts about their quality and durability.

They work well just overpriced. Any bluetooth keyboard should work fine. Unless you mean the one built into a folio deal from Apple.

I've finally made my decision - planning to get the dark blue iPhone 17 Pro Max. Should be a nice upgrade from my pacific blue iPhone 12 Pro.

Wasn't expecting the Airpod Pro 3 to be such a big improvement. I'll wait for some reviews but might be tempted to upgrade from my lightning 2s.

What time does the store open for preorders on the 19th?

edit: Looks like 7am ct

The Air has an A19 Pro. This thing is going to sell like crazy.

They're flexing the battery life too. If it holds up I'm sold.

I'm hyped to preorder the Pro Max. I planned to get blue all along but I'm shocked that they got rid of black as a color option.

17 Pro is the ugliest iPhone I've ever seen, with this and Liquid Ass, I'm wondering about the design team in Apple for the first time ever.

Orange 17 Pro looks amazing! 🤩

Sadly I would just buy it for the cameras, everything else pulls me toward the Air.

I've got my preorders in for the new AirPods and Pro Max. I also decided to order the Techwoven case, overpriced for what it is though.

iOS 26 is out!
Strangely, the download size is double for my iPhone 16e (10.xx gb) vs my older 12 Pro (5.xx gb)

If Steve Jobs was still alive, he would of fired 80% of people at Apple. Also typical apple, they say Air js the thinnest phone they ever did and somehow we just gonna ignore the huge camera bump which they dont include in their measurements 😂

Man this new OS look on Mac is wild. This is going to take some getting used to.

I am not minding the Liquid Glass stuff on my phone. I have not yet updated my watch.

My Air just arrived - wow. The weight difference from my 14 Pro Max is incredible, I'm looking forward to having a phone that doesn't sag in my suit jacket for a change.

The blue is really subtle too, you could mistake it for white depending on the lighting. It really is a beautiful device.

It's so interesting to me how huge the cameras are on the back of my 17 pro max compared to my 12 pro. The 120hz screen is so nice too. And then of course usb-c like all my other devices these days. Feels so good to finally have a modern phone.

I haven't charged my 17 PM since last Friday and have been using it as I normally would since then. Today (Tuesday) I'm down to 30% battery health and I might even make it to tomorrow before needing to charge. Far better battery life than my 5 year old phone.

edit: now Wednesday and battery only down to like 17%. I'll charge once it gets down to single digits.

A deep dive on Memory Integrity Enforcement for iPhone 17 series and Air

As someone with terrible sleeping habits, I've been thoroughly enjoying Sleep Score on Apple Watch.

I've been paying more attention to bad habits that are keeping me from going to bed.

I ended up buying the Apple fast charger (40w-60w dynamic charger) for home and also a 30w charger for my car, as the 17 Pro Max has a huge battery and my 5+ year old chargers were taking longer than expected. Now glad to finally have all of my chargers upgraded. :messenger_face_steam:

If you are a lite phone user you will love it. I check email, gaff, and youtube a few times a day and i have 30+% left at the end of the night still.

I don't take many pictures at all but I do notice the sub par camera quality (compared to my 17 pro max...but w/e), and I have to admit youtube videos sound pretty bad out of the only speaker it has.

HOWEVER...none of those overcome how amazing the phone feels/is designed; the weight is nothing in my pocket and the thin-ness really needs to be seen to be believed.

Wish they'd made this a 5 inch phone instead of 6 inch.

My work computer is a macbook pro and I get a free white magic mouse 2 with it. It works great but I wanted to get a black one because they look much better imho. I went to my local Bestbuy and bought and returned 2 black ones because both had a wobbly top. Is this a common issue with the black version or am I just having back luck? I'm considering going to my closest Apple store when I get some time this week and trying again, but do any of you have a black MM2 that's solid with no issues?

M5s for everyone! Pretty meh updates this year but I'm sadly very excited about that new VisionPro band, really hope it's better than the current two options

I do like the Vision Pro. Having a giant tv and a dual monitor pc setup available to you wherever you go is space age stuff.

I am however waiting for a version that doesn't have that external battery and for it to become a lot more affordable.

One of the many cases where we miss Steve Jobs. I think he would've liked the concept but the battery and the price would've been complete dealbreakers.

Just ordered a refurb 16" Macbook Pro with the M1 Pro cpu. $800. Been a while since I've had a Mac. I need a laptop and Windows 11 laptops are a bit annoying. Should be here Tuesday. We will see how it goes

Solid laptop. I still have my 14-inch or whatever since it was new, and I have zero desire to upgrade. It's fast enough for coding and everyday use, and the design hasn't really changed since it was released years ago. The only downside is that it supports only one external screen out of the box, but there's hardware available to get around that. Enjoy.

Yeah.....did quite a bit of research and seems that unless you are doing a lot of video editing or processor intense stuff like that, there isn't a massive jump from the oldest to the newest. I'm going to be using mine for browsing and light coding only so will be more than enough.

I just discovered the new special effects that you can do with wallpapers in ios26, like the spatial depth and the larger clock. I've got some sick Lebron wallpapers set up!

I recently bought a Macbook Air M4 13', and I absolutely love it. (insert the "it was perfect" meme here)

Do you guys have any tips to make it last as long as possible and protect it from wear and tear? I try to charge it when it drops to around 20% and unplug the charger before it reaches 90%. Anything to keep in mind? Should I get a hard case? What about a keyboard protector?

Got the MacBook, but….

Not supposed to have any scratches on it. So......sending it back. Already ordered a replacement from Best Buy instead of Amazon.

Use it without any covers or protectors, they take away from the experience. Just don't drop it and it'll last you for many years.

Grab a dbrand film cover. I got the same "midnight black space cosmic blacker than gray" film cover for mine and now I wouldn't own one without it...getting rid of the finger prints ALONE was wroth the $25 bucks it cost.

I love the fact (irony) that the £2000 M5 Macbook Pro doesn't come with a charger so you have to spend either £200 on some more RAM or £150 on the screen or £400 on the SSD to qualify for a charger. AND THEN you still have to buy the charger!!

I know you can just buy a charger but fuck me, Apple - this is you saving the planet?

Because it's still more than enough for everyday computing.

I updated my iPhone to newest iOS patch and they finally fixed that Safari glitch that was messing up with elements with CSS position sticky upon opening virtual keyboard. What a mess.

I've been using my 16" MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro that I got refurb for $1k and it has been fantastic. Saved a lot of money on this vs buying new.

I hit the later button, but it decided to install overnight. Now my iPhone 13 has iOS 26. It's a bit goofy looking and more stuttery. I'm going to miss how glossy smooth it ran before this update.
