Microsoft revamps Xbox Game Pass plans and hikes Ultimate to $29.99 a month, Ultimate gets Ubisoft+ Classics and more

...still subsidizing it.

and unlimited cloud gaming only means more subsidization per customer using it.

Like any buffet... the value depends on how much you eat and what you eat.

It's not bad for what you are getting. Ninja Gaiden 4, COD, and Outer Worlds 2 would cost 210.00 before taxes. That same 210.00 can get 7 months of game pass ultimate. The value is there but it's not for everyone and that is understandable.

They are blatantly corralling people off of the console to Windows. Then they'll jack up the PC gamepass price.

Yea it will work for some people but not everyone. MS is dumb if they think people will just transition from console to PC without any issues. A lot of hardcore users will most if not all hardcore users really but causals wont and they will lose them to PS.

Your getting to play them not own them.

Just saw that PC Game Pass will go to $16.49, which is still reasonable considering we get Day-1 releases. I thought we'd get the same increase as consoles and was trying to see the justification for that. I guess I'll keep my subscription for now, as it all depends on their catalog.

Anyone who pays normal prices for sub plans is insane.

After 6 years of GPU where I paid for 3 years of Gold (twice) and then top up for $1 or 1 month making it GPU, Xbox still has 2:1 conversion. Unless they took away conversion just now.

I bought 3 years of Gold at Costco for I think $80 CDN per year a couple months ago. That's $240. Converts to 1.5 years of GPU. To activate that you pay for 1 additional month for $23 CDN. So $263 CDN for 1.5 years of GPU. And I split it with a buddy home sharing (subs are shareable too). Cost me $130.

The old GPU Canada price was $23/mth. At 18 months that's $414. Saved myself 40%.

GPU Canada is now $34/month (just checked their site). At 18 months that's $612. Whoever pays regular price is nuts. lol. People got to know how to find deals and home share with a friend or fam member to cut costs in half.

What does ultimate give you that game pass PC doesn't for double the price
Cloud, Fortnite Crew sub and it works on both console and PC.

But if you don't care about those things then you're getting massively shafted as a console user. Minimum of $30 for day one games on console, $16.49 on PC.

Yeah it's also getting Ubisoft titles.

Why is my existing premium still the old price but the advertised is the new price? When are existing subs going to be bumped up?

edit: never mind got answer from a clanker, "legacy sub".

Yeah, fuck off.

I've been lucky enough to get good deals the past few years for Ultimate but it just isn't worth it anymore.

I'll sell my Xbox Series X and just buy the games I want on the PS5 instead.

Last time I visited them, like 2 years ago they would defend anything MS did, so I thought it was still the same.

Its been a more PlayStation centric site for longer than 2 years, I believe thats even why they made an official Xbox Games Studios thread so every Xbox thread didnt devolve into people shitting on Xbox but even that thread isnt exactly an Xbox circlejerk.
