Assassins Creed Black Flag - PC Via Game Pass

Windle Poons

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
I thought I'd have a dabble on Ass Creed Black Flag for the PC via Game Pass.

To play, I give you the process (and you can say its my fault, but just to give you the information required)

I needed to ensure the following :-

1) Log into the Xbox App (no issues, how would I get the game otherwise)

2) This also, for no fucking reason, automatically launches Battle.net (I cannot close this because it has a hissy fit that it needs to be running because of point one)

3) I need to download, install, and be logged into Ubisoft Connect before my game will even install.

I've now got 3 fucking apps running in the background before I can even play - and it looks like horse shit anyway.

I thought PC was the best place to play? Why do I need all this shit running?

the reason is you have the extension enabled in the xbox app, you can just disable it if you want. These extensions exist because the games require to run on their original platform, the xbox app is just granting you access to it if you have an active game pass subscription.

If you cannot find the EA/Ubi games on GOG then you need to crack them to not have launchers all over the place.

Ah - you are a great help - I did not see that setting, thank you.

I also need an app / installer to run in the background if I use GOG.

Yeah, every publisher wanting his own launcher is a real plague unfortunately. As for Battle.net launching with the Xbox App, it's because you linked both account (most likely to play a Blizzard game on Gamepass). It will be the same for Ubisoft: launching the Xbox App will also launch Ubi Connect. That's why I deactivated this feature.

Now wait for you to try to play COD on PC via the Xbox App, it's insane how stupid and tedious it is. Also a good thing is those launchers tend to be abandoned, for example BF6 on Steam only need an EA account but not the EA App.

Only Battle.net can handle the pixels. It always has to be running when a game with a lot of pixels is playing.
