Nobody ever talks about Quiznos anymore.

There are hardly any around, at least where I am.

Firehouse subs are my favorite.

I actually used to go to Quiznos a lot but that was back when I could find one nearby. It was on the way home from work.

I think most of them closed down where I live the past 10 years. I thin there's some still around.

Problem was when subs were a big thing, Quiznos was probably double the price of Subway. Yeah, toasted subs were nice. But they were small and overpriced. I remember way back Subway footlongs were $7 CDN, and Quiznos was like $11. Probably the most expensive fast food at the time where it broke $10 and didnt even come with a drink.

I dont think the avg eater cares about subs that much to pay a lot of money for a long sandwich.

Quiznos is much better than a lot of places. I think they went out of business because people didn't like paying $20 for a sub even if it was superior. I know of 2 locations still open in my state.

Yeah I just rewatched 21 Jump Street and the pop Quiznos joke made me sad because I used to like Quiznos.

Quizons was BY FAR, the superior rock bottom sub chain. Subway is such utter trash, but the Quiz was the better alternative, at least in my area. These days you got Jersey Mike's, Firehouse, Hot Belly, that "write it on the bag" place, etc so for franchise chain sub places neither Quiznos or Subway really should still exist.

But you give me a real, authentic, New York style deli joint with a 100 different hunks of meat and cheese in the case, a buncha brothers working the back with grandma calling out orders, and a grill that's been hot through WW2 AND WW1, that's the joint!

Jersey Mike subs seem to be cropping up where I live. They look good, but the large sized subs are literally $20 CDN. No thanks.

I had my first one recently and they absolutely doused it in some oily sauce (I didn't order it myself, someone else did) so the bread was soggy. That sauce was dripping all over the place. Extra wasn't asked for so it seems it's just what they do I guess? I mean I'm sure you can tell them to hold off on it but yeah, that first experience was not good, I took a few bites and was done and ordered firehouse lol it may have also not been normal and the person working there was an idiot.

I guess just be aware of whatever the oily shit is that they may drown it in. I'm willing to give it another go someday without it.

Nobody ever talks about Toys R Us anymore

But I was in one yesterday

I've never heard of it, but it's understandable.

For $10 you can make 4 subs with the premium ingredients you like.... $20 for 1.... Well 🧐

Um a quick google search which you couldn't even bother with shows they have over 5 locations left.
37 miles from me, no thank you.

When I was working at wingstore for my sister, the folks at Quiznos would trade their subs for our wings, good times.

Not my favorite place but a Chicken Carbonara with rosemary parmesan bread, broccoli cheddar soup and Nanaimo bar every now and then is a nice change of pace from my usual subs.

I would drive twenty minutes out of my way every Sunday going home from church to get Quiznos once I'd grown tired of Subway. Pretty sure that was the last location left in Michigan lol.

I have always prefered Quiznos to Subway, nowadays, I just go to places like Subway City to get my subs. I have always hated Subway

I ate Subway multiple times practically every week during college/grad school and for a few years afterwards; then one day all of sudden, I took one of their subs home, managed to only eat half of it, and thought to myself, "Did I really enjoy this garbage for the last decade?" lol

It's a shame most sandwich places near me don't offer hot subs, but luckily I found a Penn Station near my work that does delicious Italians.

I hate toasted subs and they made put on my own mayonnaise so I never cared for them. Subway at least would make the exact sandwich I wanted which was good enough until the quality dipped too much to be worth it. I should try firehouse one of these days but there is never one close by. Jersey Mike's isn't bad but they're limited on toppings and way too expensive.

The franchisees needed to buy everything, including toilet paper, from the distributor at inflated price, hence why it went down. I don't know why the person said there's 100s in Canada, there's not even one left on the Island of Montreal.

I've been in the States for almost a decade now and haven't seen a single Quiznos location first-hand.

Some of the best sandwiches you can buy from a chain, we had three or four around town. even more frustrating when you find out why the business went under, I don't know how some of these people sleep at night.

The city back in Virginia I spent most of my life used to have four Quiznos locations and then within the span of a week they all shut down. No warning, no notice, just closed. All of their locations in the Hampton Roads area followed suit shortly afterward.

I haven't seen a Quiznos since. I just looked them up and the nearest one to where I used to live is all the way out in Emporia, VA. The nearest one to where I live now is in Tulsa.

In honesty, we only ate at Quiznos a few times. Once a Schlotzskys Deli opened up closer by, that became our go-to place for sub-like sandwiches. And where I am now, we just got a McAlister's Deli, which is like Schlotzskys of the Midwest.

We used to have a Schlotzskys. It was really good but also went away.

I just looked Schlotzsky's up and looks like they've also shuttered all their Virginia locations. Sad. My first time eating at one was when I was working at Gateway and there was a Schlotzsky's just down the street in the commercial/mall district. It quickly became a regular lunch spot. Then they opened one a mile from where we lived.

They supposedly have 21 locations here in Oklahoma with 4 in Tulsa. Might have to seek one out in a couple weeks when we're up there for my wife's hematologist appointment.
