PS3 emulation hit a major milestone a few days ago

You got to select the version though. Is it running slow or sluggish what's your cpu?
I tried this

and also this patch

neither worked.

Only thing that sort of work is when I use OpenGL rather than vulkan, then MLAA goes on and off even without the MLAA patch, I see high res version of the game every second second.

I love RPCS3. The patches are amazing. Played through Gran Turismo 5 (with the Master Mod) recently at 100+ FPS, 4K internal resolution, and ultrawide aspect ratio.

Vulkan is better for this. Also what is your cpu and your resolution scale at? Also do you have write color buffers on. Soul Calibur 5 is a pretty demanding game if you don't have a good cpu.

PS5 CPU not efficient enough to handle PS3 emulation according to DF.
DF isn't a benchmark for any of this.
I can run multiple PS3 games on my handheld at 5-7W, while still doubling performance and/or quadrupliing the resolution.
Hell - Folklore will literally run at flawless 144fps if I give it 15W, @1440p, and both Minna No Golf PS3 games run about 8x better emulated than the newly released PC Native game runs on the same device (and look better at the same time).

Obviously - not all games work, and some will not perform at playable fps at all (possibly ever), but with the BC trickle that these companies do online, you'd be lucky to get one new game per week - so even though parts of the library might not get supported due to hardware, that lack of support is already the situation for PS2, PS1, PSP, XB360, ogXB, GCN, Wii, N64 libraries today.

I got a 12700K for CPU, write color buffers is on, I just booted up the game to try again just now, anything beyond 100% resolution scale crash the emu as soon as I enter a match. Something must have changed in the recent build. I used to set it to 300% so like 4K on older build but since the disable MLAA patch wasn't working teh game was struck at 720p but lock to 60fps.

I can see what the game look like when I use OpenGL and MLAA flicker on and off. Very obvious since it looks razor sharp and eliminated most aliasing

Sony has already ported/remastered most of their desired PS3 exclusives over to the PS4/5 platform. There is little chance of then embracing PS3 emulation for the remaining titles (Killzone/Resistance/Sly/Ratchet). It sucks, but at least we have RPSC3.

Didn't those arcade boards require security dongles to run? I believe they aren't that much different from retail units with the exception of their software. Some of the original System 357 boards even contain the PS2's EE&GS, despite there being little to no chance of it being used.
Need the fallout games ported.

No ports for KZ2/3, Folklore, MGS4, GOW1-2 remaster, KZ1 remaster, Drakengard 3, Mortorstorm 1-3, Gran Turismo 5/6, Infamous 1/2, Heavenly Sword, Resistance 1-3 and few others...

I would say WE NEED proper emulation. Even just for being able to play games purchased on PS Store back in the day.

Really sad that Sony who SHOULD care about this stuff for gamers don't seem to give a fuck, and yet the people who actually DO care put in the hard work to get this stuff figured out. These corporations like Sony would do well to hire these people, pay them well and get them onboard for PS6 to release PS3 games for next gen.

PS3 has a lot of hidden gems that haven't received a PC port like Dragon Crown, the arcade perfect version of Daytona, Lair, Tokyo Jungle, 3D dot, Little big planet (this one has the capacity to become the Mario Maker on PC), Fat Princess, Wipeout etc.

That and GT5 are the main selling points of RCPS3 for me

Higher resolution and no load times to boot.

Unlike the retail version.
I do not think it has motion smoothing or color filters. The load times are not significantly shorter than the console version ones if the game is installed on HDD. For some odd reason Bamco chose 720p as the max resolution for PS3 despite the game running at 1080p on 360 without motion smoothing. (*not talking about native resolution)

P.S. I wonder if the arcade version of Tekken Tag 2 is more in line with Tekken Hybrid demo in terms of higher resolution and lower input delay?

Every time I wanna get into PS3 emulation, I remember I have to buy one of the specific Blu-ray drives for my PC, and i can never find stock, besides like overpriced auction sites.

But there are so many games trapped on that console, wonderful games i'd love to play at a higher resolution, RnC ToD and more importantly, a Crack in Time, also HD remasters of the orignal 3, Starhawk I wanna try again even though the SP was a let down.

aaaah the list goes on, the motorstorm games, obviously MGS4 and so on and so forth
