Has Your View on the Switch 2 Changed?

No. Only games i'm interested right now is Mario Kart and DK. Even if Metroid comes out won't pay $450 to play three games. Not interested in playing third party on it.

Changed? No, pretty much what I put on paper it would be and then some, didn't expect RTGI so soon. Also a lot more efficient than I expected, I knew low clocks has less impact on foundry node densities, but I never expected it to be that efficient.

What it makes me realize is that I probably don't jump on PC handhelds till I see an Nvidia solution.

I also need Nintendo to fucking speed up the switch 2 patches for the Xenoblade series.

It's an exclusive machine for me along with NSO classics and some Switch 1 games. It appears to be good launch year for exclusives: MK World, DK Bonanza, Kirby Air Riders, and Metroid 4. Also Mario Galaxy Remakes for both Switch systems.

It has solid performance for it's power draw, I like the big screen, and the pro controller is comfortable. Good experience so far!

It's a system for Nintendo games for me, and mostly docked only. (Because of the terrible form factor / grip).
I would never play games like Resident Evil 9 or Cronos on a Nintendo Switch 2.

Nope, because my opinion on it has always been that it's only going to be worth it when there's enough Nintendo only exclusives to justify it. I'm not buying a Switch 2 to play aging third party games that, although they look decent enough, are still inferior to the same games on the PS5, XSX, or PC.

I'm not longing for, nor am I interested in, playing a crappier version of Cyberpunk or SW Outlaws or Street Fighter 6 just because it's (somewhat) portable. I add the "somewhat" qualifier because the battery life is abysmal for those games in portable mode, and sprawling triple A games like Cyberpunk aren't really designed for bite sized portability.

So my opinion remains unchanged. I will buy a Switch 2 when there's enough Nintendo only exclusives that interest me. Because that's all it's worth owning it for if you have literally any other modern device.

Have been quite enjoying it compared to original Switch. Civilization 6 is a night and day difference. Loading a game is very quick and late game turns are fast unlike original Switch which struggled. Been enjoying Rune Factory, DK Bonanza, Hades 2, and Nobunaga's Ambition but I will enjoy the system more when Nintendo has far more 1st party stuff on it.

I didn't buy it because right now it has more flaws (battery life, LCD, size) than pros (processing power). However, I'll definitely buy an OLED version when it's available.

Yes, it's I went from being keen to get one to happy to wait nothing I want to play on it right now or coming up, did think I would miss Mario kart but that's a poor game at the moment. I'll wait till the improved battery/screen comes along.

Yes, I sold mine last week as I also have a PS5 Pro and with such limited gaming time I just don't have the time for two consoles.
With the news of a PS6 portable next gen, I will buy that plus the console.
Nintendo just are not catering to what I want out of gaming.
As a side note, it was also the hardest console to sell personally even in mint condition at £300, take from that what you will.

Not really, it's a Nintendo-games machine for me. I don't really care about the 3rd party stuff outside of the odd indie game here and there.

It's a pleasant surprise to see 3rd parties being on-board though. I did not think we'd be seeing day-and-date versions of the most recent RE, for example.

Yeah. After the last Nintendo Direct I realised I'm not the target audience. For third party games I have a PS5 and PC. For portable gaming (if I do, and rarely do that) I have the Steam Deck.

Slightly, for the better.

I was already enjoying it from launch day, but Star Wars Outlaws turning out as well as it did has raised my expectations for both the level of graphics we can expect from it, and the kind of ports that will be viable.

I have one for Nintendo Exclusives (mostly recovering Switch 1 games with decent performance)
Won't get any third party for it, more expensive but with worst performance than any other platform around
And one thing it's sure, we won't get any Nintendo game capable of "squeeze" hardware performance...

So yes, I didn't change my opinion - A decent hardware for nothing

The console is punching above what I expected, yes. I think that playing Resident Evil on it will help me having a more definitive opinion about the console. It also has a very competent BC, and overall this is unexpected from Nintendo. They took a more difficult technical path with this console, something that would have never happened under Iwata. And I liked Iwata.

Still a shitty screen in handheld though ! And Game Key Cards suck.

No. I refuse to pay a premium for hardware and games for last gen graphics. Especially considering Nintendo is price gouging Canadians even more.

Until things change, I still haven't bought it. Because they refuse to support this nonsense with Game Сart. If something changes, I'll gladly buy it. For now, it's a matter of principle.

I'll say this, I HOPED the Switch 2 would be more powerful than the original. Then Cyberpunk 2077 seemed like a really good port. Then a modern game like Star Wars Outlaws came out looking SURPRISINGLY good with Ray Tracing. Then I saw actual FLUID gameplay of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and I got more excited to get a SWITCH 2... Then, Cherry on top, I saw gameplay of Resident Evil Requiem... Blew me away at how smooth and how close to the PS5 version it is graphically. Cemented my resolve to get it this Christmas.

Just like every other Nintendo console I have ever owned, it is purely my Nintendo exclusives machine. I was a going to buy Shinobi for it, but with no Switch 2 version I ended up getting it on Steam instead.

All other games will be spread out across my gaming PC, Steam Deck, PS5 Pro, and XBOX Series X. Although with the current direction XBOX is taking and the price increases to GamePass I have been dropping off them for a while now.

It's a more powerful Switch. So no. I still see it that way. I do wish we would get some better games. In 2017 we got BotW, Odyssey, and Xenoblade 2 and I don't think we're going to top that.

game keycards are really not that big of a deal and I dont know why gamers are so retarded over them.
They'd be fine if they worked like regular physical cartridges and just plugged them in and played. Sure you need to download it first, but it wouldn't be different from needing a day one patch.

The big issue is importing is dead. You must have a regional account for the region of the keycard to play the game. Previously you could have a European, Japanese, or other Asian card that included an English translation on a North American system. That is no longer possible with keycards.

Yes.
I find it slightly disappointing on former generation games, and I find it suprisingly strong on modern games.

It definitely punches above its weight if modern features are used.

I think Nintendos Classics policy is lacking due to it not fulfilling the lack of first party bangers at this point. We need a biggy! (thought they learned this in the Wii U days)

Really ?

Love the system. Since most 1.0 release indies come to Switch 2 I get them there.

Switch 2 still is not the place for day one AAA games. For one, the games do not fit (usually) on a game cart and getting them digitally (or a stupid key-card) takes up a big chunk of the miniscule Switch 2 storage.

AAA games (non-Nintendo ones) will always play best on PC, XSX or PS5. I'll play those game there. Will always look better too.

Not exclusive.

Just get a grip "case" like I did.

Premium is the PS5 Pro price. Almost double the SW2 price.

Switch 2 for me is for exclusive Nintendo games and (mostly 2D) indies since it's comfortable and easy, I'd never play any modern AAA on it, any 10 year old PC can do it much better. I also never undocked it once, so the portable form factor is a net loss for me.
I'm not even sure where people use their switch outside, it's so big and clunky, and I've almost never seen anyone with one in any kind of transport or wherever actually...

I use it quite a bit on trains/planes.

A little disappointed currently, the device itself is great.

Got bored of mario kart world a lot quicker than expected and I play all third parties elsewhere, if I was exclusively playing on the switch 2, I am fully aware my tune maybe different though!

& I think the device is too big to take out with me, if I was a female I could throw it in a bag or tote bag etc, but alas I'm not. :)

There is games I am interested in like DK Bonanza but I feel the asking price is a bit much currently.

No. I never doubted them to begin with.
This. I wasn't a part of the hate crowd before release because I don't have a hate boner for Nintendo and I know tech well enough to have realistic expectations.

Playing BOTW/TOTK @ 1440p/60 was amazing even if I played them for a combined total of about 5 hours and haven't really touched my Switch 2 since. My girl is using it to play the new Pokemon now though so it's getting some use.

It's excellent. The Switch 2 Pro Controller might be my favorite controller of all time.

I've also really been enjoying the 120hz mode in some games recently.

I've even been using gamechat and screen share with a friend a few times a week for the past few months, and it's surprisingly lean and good.

It's quite the little powerhouse, and I love it.

You buy a Nintendo system for nintendo exclusives. Maybe some portability, but right now? You get Mario Kart and DK. If thats good enough, sure.

Personally, no. In 2017 Nintendo said "Get in, were making a sequel to the fucking GOAT, but it will cost you $500". Buying a Switch for Xenoblade 2 was worth it and I will die on that hill. It will take Xenoblade 4 or MonolithSofts next title, and nothing less.

Nope. Zero interest in the Switch 2.

It might be punching above its weight at a PS4 Pro level but the console is a relic of games I've already played at resolutions and frame rates I've moved on from.
