Ball X Pit Switch 2 Edition Announced (Free Upgrade)

The OG Switch can't handle that game at 60fps or something? c'mon now
OG Switch is doing it at 720p 60fps.

I think we can assume a Native Switch 2 port could bump that to 1080p 60fps.. maybe even 120fps.

This matters more than you think, switch 1 games on the new switch 2 screen look more jaggy since it's non native resolution. this update is welcome.

I'd imagine this makes a big difference in the city building section. You really have to zoom it in to see any details on the Steam Deck 1280x800 screen

I've been looking to pick this up but not sure to get it on Switch 2 or Steam Deck :/

I'm thinking prolly Deck. Either way it's nice to see 3rd party games taking advantage of the new hardware. I just hope some more of the older games I got on the OG switch see upgrades to take advantage.

Wow another random indie dev that has a devkit while big third parties supposedly don't. Can we put that rumor to rest already?
Not a rumor. Switch 2 dev kits are still very rare and a lot of major studios still don't have them. Source: I work at a large game studio and have connections at numerous others.

What studio do you work at, and what studios have you heard from that don't have them.

Everyone who comes out with this has the same story: "some studios" -- no one wants to name a studio that doesn't. Because it's either not true, or it's some studio no one cares about anyway so it's not a juicy story.

Because NDA's and developer agreements exist.

Also, sticking your head up on Gaf, or Era (either of them), or even Reddit puts a gross target on you in general. Its one thing to speak up or reply to community posts (and those are mostly alt accounts) but quite another to talk shop in threads where it isn't appropriate.

I'm not comfortable naming names publicly. I guess you're free to interpret that as "I'm making this up" if you want, but that feels like a weird hill to die on, especially given how this is simultaneously A. widely reported and B. fairly mundane. Zero idea why you'd find it hard to believe that dev kits for a new system are in short supply, or why people would feel the need to need to lie about that. This is a thing that happens.

Expecting him to spill that information doesn't make your other judgements look good.
